Found you this weekend and subscribed! I am writing a memoir about my experience with parental alienation. My son is now 20. I have struggled with using a pen name or my own as it is sensitive material and want to protect him. I don't want his life on display, nor do I want the ire of his mother. Conversely, I want to be authentic and eventually use the book to do speaking and other services. Finally, with using my real name, I would have a built in audience of eager readers as well as fellow published authors. I feel stuck.

Love all of this. I have been feeling a call to write and have thought many of these but it's so helpful to hear I'm on the right track. Also the, "yep" when Ally lost her thought? I've literally done that exact thing. 😂 Happy to know I'm not alone!

Stumbled on this while looking up different people talking about the power of intentional action. I love all that you both are saying here. I know much of your focus is from the viewpoint as authors, but I just wanted to echo that from a mental health perspective, I can absolutely attest that intentional action is ALWAYS going to create greater impact than passively letting life do it's thing.

If it makes you feel better... I can't stand Glennon Doyle! I found her Love Warrior book utterly alienating in the first sentence, and it only got worse the more I learned about her.

I just found you, grateful I did. I have kept a diary for decades, and have approx 30 finished journals. I have felt forever as if I need to publish some of my writings… it’s stronger than ever before and so I searched for tips and found you.

Such good advice on what to look out for when signing a contract. Brilliant advice and so good to know.

Well, they need to write a highly precise prompt in order to get the results they want. I know many people may not like this, but AI is the future. Many "celebrities" are AI. Most news is AI generated. I can also think of maybe 10+ businesses that can now be automated with higher precision from AI.
