Bubble Gum Pop Art

For over 30 years, I believed I lacked any talent, keeping my art hidden from the world. I would create in private, only to destroy my work. My artistic journey began in childhood, sparked by a fascination with cards, particularly the art of Dick Perez, and comics like Iron Man and Star Wars. The pop art of Keith Haring also left a lasting impression on me.
I worked as a Locomotive Engineer until a car accident damaged my spine, leading to multiple surgeries and the loss of my job. Isolated and broken, I reached my lowest point. But then, unexpectedly, I picked up an iPad and began to draw again.
Relearning how to create with damaged hands was difficult, but it became my lifeline. Art became my therapy, pulling me away from despair. What started as a personal outlet evolved into a mission: to create art that reflects my struggles and offers hope to others facing hardship. Through my work, I hope to connect with and inspire those who feel lost or broken.
