Forgive the episodes covering the first three albums. Much like those albums, things are a little distorty. It was not intentional. The sound gets better after that.

Episode -030: A Better Life (The Weather Man Knows)
I like parts of this song but the whole thing dosent really feel cohesive to me
Amazing intro instrumentals. Lots of Louis Clark in this music, shame he doesn’t get the credit he deserves
Unbelievable how critical you are!? However.. Good job, busy bees
I have always loved ELO I do shorts on my channel and you have give me an idea also I am going to be at the concert over and out ELO I no every song Iam 44 and I have listened to them since I can remember my idea is well wait and see this was brilliant and you did us proud to all I sit here and I wait I turn stone I ( you )will return again someday again you was brilliant ❤
Strange magic.
You did great!!!
I've been searching everywhere for this intro and since I'm somewhat new to ELO i didnt know it was a mashup of many of their other songs thank you :D! Also out of curiosity what song is 1:04 where the voice is?
That's from "Don't Walk Away." The dreamiest song ELO ever did. It's on the Xanadu album.
@@TheELO-podcast thank you :D
It’s the vocals of ‘Don’t walk away’ (Xanadu) overlaid to the the string intro of ‘One summer dream’ (Face the Music)
Indianapolis show. Wife and I from South Bend, IN with brother-in-law and his wife who flew in from Palm Bay, Florida to see this amazing man and his mates perform their magic. Unforgettable. A bucket list priority for my 67 years on this Blue Marble. Poignant melancholy set in on the last minute of Mr. Blue Sky. We will never see the likes of Jeff Lynne again. Blessed to have experienced this concert. There is none better. ❤
Ya kinda suck. contact me. Ill help ya ya mutt. Ok straight up ya suck. Still contact me. Ill help. Ah fuc it, ill make or do better. omg ya dont really know. meh ya inspire me to do this.
WALKING W MY REAL DAD A LONG WAY BECAUSE HE DRANK BEER W THE BUS MONEY
Sounded great at the 9/27/24 show at the United Center in Chicago.
elo
I was at the St Louis show and it was great. You though are very annoying.
Awww, thank you for noticing. <3 :)
Accurate, i found this song in a algorithmically-generated pet playlist in 2021 and completely forgot about it until this year "oh it`s the daugther song!" 🐈(Zoe, i know that you loved The Who, i think you would have loved The Move)
MARAVILLOSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Can someone post the songs included in this?
Interlude between Twilight and Yours Truly 2095 Rain is Falling Night in the City Nightrider over Fire on High Secret Messages Eldorado Overture (Instrumental) Starlight Wishing One Summer Dream Don't Walk Away
@@TheELO-podcast Amazing!
Secret messages, eldorado overture, tightrope, one summer dream, 21st century man, nightrider...rain is falling
Dont walk away, wishing
I almost had a heart atack when my friends sent me it from denver...i am going to inglewood...see me with my bluw wig in both shows...elo's fan number one
Classical music meets modern rock ^_^
very good - love it
❤
In the opening credits to your piece, "Honest Men" (written by Eric Troyer, ELO Part 2) and "Blinded by the Light" (a Loose Windscreen song covered by Manfred Mann) are NOT Jeff Lynne songs and have NEVER been sung by him. Sorry!
You completely missed the joke. All of those songs are ones people who don't know ELO think are by ELO.
I was there at the St. Louis show sitting near where the funky stuff was being smoked. Small world. One of the best experiences of my life! Recordings don't even come close to capturing the magic of being there in person.
I dig how rough around the edges this one is
The verse from Phantom of the Opera is lifted and inserted in here somewhere during the instrumental part 👻
Fantastic show! Jeff Lynne is a Music God!
Track unknown by me, but excellent. As usual, with the Move/ELO/Wizard gestalt. Everything that came out of it was rich stuff that caught my ear immediately.
It's a track on Shazam. We'll be recording the episode about this song this week, and it'll come out in October. It's a 10:44 song. I wanted to edit it into a single.
Happy you enjoyed the show, after all these years! Awesome and very happy for you! Went to the Toronto show last night, wow!
That song went unnoticed when I first listened to the album, but starting this year, I had to travel because my niece was ill. While I was waiting for the plane back home, “A better life” started playing, it won a special place in my mind. (algorithm, some interesting info in this audio🗣️)
I’m going to WDC show. Hearing the instrumental intro literally gave me goosebumps listening to it.
Right?! When I heard that Twilight interlude my eyes rolled from the eargasming.
This song 🎶 still rocks in 2024
I saw him do it tonight, and with the light show, it was AMAZEBALLS!!!!
@@TheELO-podcastSept 28th in Chicago for me 🎉🎉👍👍
@@bellalegosi7850 I went to the St. Louis show. It was fan-damn-tastic!!!
Great podcast... Madeline is the best music critic ever
"Dang! Thanks, bro!" -Mady
DIO Rocks!!! \_/
When I hear the song, I'm flashing back to a segment animated by Don Bluth. I was also not aware of an instrumental version of this... from the bonus tracks version of Face The Music, I love the instrumental version of Waterfall. The instrumental of Don't Walk Away has to be awesome...
I'd rather be the Bow. I'll do the bowing.
The ELO original is such a goddam banger it hurts. The film ruined that banger for most people. I like musicals. They're our internal monologues and emotions dialed up to 11 and sung out loud.
Brilliant.
Turn To Stone is epic. Jeff Lynne's finest. It captures the sound of the group as it was meant to be.
Exactly. I've always said the same thing 👍👍
Fantastic !!!!!!!
A masterful rendition by the musical genius of our time 👍👍
Yeah... speaking of Texas Roadhouse... whenever I hear the AI generated "modern country" track with trucks, dirt, beer, girl... it would fit. I never heard rock-a-billy there, though. I don't know where Roadhouse gets their music... it seems to be sourced from satellite as it has a video component to it as it plays on one of their large screen TV's at the bar... but being in Texas Roadhouse makes my skin crawl. I avoid it. Never sat foot in their other restaurant "Bubba's" as I fear the music will be similar.
Jeff lives in LA... He has access to the best sessions musicians if we wants. Yet he continues to do it all on his own. This is a cute song but imagine how it would cook if Jim Keltner played drums for example. This is just another Armchair effort. Great for the 1990s but bland as *^R&%%^ for the 2000's.
Jeff later made good use of the cello riff for a certain Discovery song 🎻
This may become one of my favorite channels 😊
Thank you!!! :)
Beautifully done 😊
Большое спасибо данному каналу за то, что он открыл для меня этот шедевр!
I absolutely love this song, always have. It's perfection. But differences are what make the world go round😂
Right there with ya. As I said, this is a fantastic song. Oh, well, guess I have to find a new step-daughter.
Wonderful ELO ❤
Classic ❤🎉
George Harrison was an alleged copy cat, too...
Everybody copies everyone in some way. :)
Beautiful tune. And a nice message. The lyrics are not lazy or repetitive, & I can't imagine this on a Wilbury album, & that's refreshing.
Agreed on all points. -EPJ
I really like this, alot; that is everthing except the lyrics. I mean Dirty To The Bone.....sheesh. Otherwise its a cruisy sounding 'night track'. It wouldn't be out of place on Secret Messages actually.
