Thanks for the video. Boy, have things changed. Naugatuck used to be an all American LaFrance house with Engine 4 and Engine 3 on the left hand side of the house (as you see it above), and Truck 1 and Engine 2 on the right hand side. A Box alarm response (yes, we had real Gamewell fire boxes on the corners) would be Engine 4 , 3, Truck 1, and an officer. They would also tone -out the volunteers by radio and Plectron monitors , who would respond to the scene in their cars. Blue revolving lights on the dash was the usual volunteer warning light compliment. The other thing that is gone is the old raspy steam fire "whistle" that would sound-out the fire box number. It also alerted the volunteer and everyone else. That whistle was very loud and could be heard up and down the valley. It was also used on snow days to indicate that school was called off. Local businesses would hand out calendars with the fire box number and location on the back. Regarding new color for the fire trucks - I am not a fan. I am old school, and prefer traditional "Fire Engine Red" or F. E. Red with perhaps some white on the cab. I do not like the Black over Red Chicago paint scheme. Thanks again and HNY
