Great interview he’s a great person!
A Fine young man with a Great future
I loved that Jardiance commercial! Cannot, at all, watch the others. Every time Deanna's came on in 2023 I watched it from beginning to end, every single time and I have no idea why. The joy and her natural interactions with the other cast members. She was just so genuine in that commercial.
Thank You Shelacy, for the kind words
John Owens a true professional and class act
Congratz Joe !!!
Roger was my goaltending muse. I was a lefty like him and adopted his low crouch stance for over 30 years of bar league hockey. Opposing players could not believe how old school I looked as recent as 2004. I met him at Sabres camp in St Catharines in 1974. He couldn't have been nicer !!! I was so saddened when the news broke that he had passed so young in 1996. I've talked to Kate a couple times on Facebook and she is as nice as her father !!! Thank you for this video interview !!!
Thank you for posting this. Mr. Kelly is a distant relative of mine. I grew up in a small town near Simcoe Ontario.I never had the privilege of meeting the man. To hear these stories and learn about who he was as a person is incredible. He sounds a lot like my Grandmother. Can’t thank you enough for telling his story.
Adam,Thank you so much for these kind words
Great Interview !!!!!! great history here !! Congratz. Mr. Eddie Curry !!!
Thank you so much for watching.
I've know Marty for years and when it comes to refereeing and umpiring he's the best. Super knowledgeable about the rules in both sports and is always making sure the games are called as correctly and fairly as can be. Hoping Marty's passion and love for these sports inspires the younger generation to become as good as an official as he is. We need more people like him to keep youth sport fun!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Marty, he's a true asset to these sports.
One of the greatest Human Beings who’ve ever entered the ice. Love this guy!
@@MrFPilati Terry,is truly one of the best..🎯🎯
This is a must see interview with Marty Tong,AHAI Hockey Referee
I met Mr Pilote twice in midland Ontario at a charity golf tournament . I got my picture taken with him and the next year I brought it with me back to the same event. I asked him if he could sign it for me, I had it blown up into an 8x10. He remembered who I was which blew me away and he later told our mutual friend that he was so honored that I made the trip from New York back to have him sign it. HE was honored. I knew he was an incredible man from talking to him but when I heard that I really understood what made him such a great man. He was so humble and he had such character and that’s why so many NHL players are that way even now. Men like him passed it on to those after him. I cherish that photo so much.
Thanks for this memory
i realize that this is a two year old video, but I'm going to add my two cents anyway. I grew up in a suburb of Detroit in the 50's and 60's. I was not not a Red Wing fan. My Team was the Toronto Maple Leafs. However, being a goaltender myself and also full right, (left hand), I really enjoyed Roger's playing style. I remember watching him at the Olympia on several occasions and enjoyed his remarkable goaltending. I enjoyed this video very much and may Roger rest in peace!
Thank you so much for this perspective on Roger,he deserves his just due to be”Elected in the Hall Of Fame…
Hall, Crozier, Tony-0 changed goaltending. Hall and Crozier won the Conn Smythe trophy on losing teams.
@@donhuber9131 thanks for this great feedback,3 great goaltenders
Great interview John!! Love it! I’m all ears as a Holy Cross graduate as well! Such a small suburban school has so many influential and great graduates!
@@Soxguy Thank you so much for this I totally appreciate this..Keep in touch.
Holy Cross who’s who….John Carpino president of Anaheim Angels, Mike Rizzo president and general manager of the Washington Nationals , Professional players Tony Fiore (Phillies), Garret Wolfe (Bears), and Bobby Stevens ( Orioles). These would be great interviews…
@@Soxguy for sure I’m going to reach out to them
A great discussion, with great insight on the upcoming season, from these legendary sports columnists..
I Remember Roger Crozier very well and seeing him play for the Detroit Red Wings right from the beginning he impressed me with his acrobatic style of playing was quite something holding that big goalie stick in his left hand blocking shots I watched that Stanley Cup final game on May 5, 1966 game 6 on television coming from the old Detroit Olympia in Detroit Montreal Canadiens scoring at 2:20 in overtime on a very controversial goal by Henri Richard Detroit's Roger Crozier Claiming as Richard was falling down sliding close to the net Richard pushed the Puck into his net with his glove. a disappointed Roger Crozier wins the 1966 Conn Smythe Trophy, as the Montreal Canadiens go on to win the Stanley Cup.
2 absolute hofers Stan is a class act in the youth and ahl hockey world John what can you say class act a love for the game
Mike Silenzi you are also a class act and yes the Hall Of Fame will be calling on you one day.
CEO Eddie Greco and John Conenna discuss Greco and Sons 5 Stars
Viewers here should think about reading his memoir. It was called The Hammer: Confessions of a Hockey Enforcer. The book came out in about 1983, shortly after he retired from the NHL. He goes into how he did not start off as a fighter in hockey, that he only came to it later, and that he was hoping to move away from his enforcer role with Philadelphia. Eventually he became disillusioned with violence in hockey and advocated against it.
I remember him with ATL. Fine player!
Doug Jarrett besides the Golden jet and Stash you bring back memories thank you chairman of the boards you made us proud.

It was a pleasure meeting this afternoon at the block party. On 78th Indiana. I wanted to be precise. And Thanks for the pic,P.S Your sent smell was all that.
Good stories from Warren. You and I have the same birthday, John. Same day, same year.

I remember Jim Ralph got hurt early in the '84-'85 season while in Milwaukee and was out for the entire season. Chris Clifford was then signed to back up Darren Pang.
I went to college with Gail and she dated one of my fraternity brothers. She was a real sweetheart.
Great interview,John! Warren is a CLASS ACT on and off the ice!
Thanks for the input Randy
I have "Nice Guys Finish Last"..Leo wrote about the incident regarding Santo wanting a day, the clubhouse exploded!!. He didnt like Pappas at all...
what a gem. back in the day i listened to WIND radio. Super star he was.
Thank You David for Watching 🎯👍
Would have loved to have seen a prime Dave Schultz vs a prime Joey Kocur, The Hammer vs The Jackhammer
That would have been a great battle
Doug had a wicked shot from the point...he has some decent numbers on the power play assists...
Thank You so much for watching and your insight
Had to go buy a few 69 Mets baseball cards while listening..Shamsky, Swoboda and Agee. they beat a good Braves team !.
👏👏👏
Screw inter league baseball. I JUST HATED, IT DESTROYED RIVARIES LIKE METS VS ST. LOUIS, METS VS CUBS, METS VS GIANTS. GO BACK TO THE OLD SYSTEM.
NO PLAYER WHO HAS DONE WHAT PETE DID OR HAVE CHEATED USING SHOULD BE IN THE HALL OF FAME, TURNING IT INTO THE HALL OF SHAME.
The METS have not had solid managers since GIL HODGES and DAVEY JOHNSON.
Jose,Thank You your spot on
Bobby Valentine took an outfield of Benny Agbayani, Timo Perez and whoever it was in RF to a World Series. You gotta include Bobby V.
@@henridevigne1096 Bobby did a great job also
SHAMSKY was traded to the METS from the REDS .
Another outstanding podcast! What an era for baseball and first impressions!!!
Thank You Carl,I truky appreciate you watching this podcast. As you know along with Tony Ruzicka you remember 1969 better then anybody
in 1969, Cubs lost 8 in a row in early September, they were 5 ahead at the time, ended up being 2 back by the time they won a game,
David, thanks for the insight..Yes what a tragic month
@@johnconenna869 great interview, Nye basically said the same thing as Leo as to why the Mets overtook the Cubs, its more about the Mets winning...they got really hot...but that losing streak did the Cubs in, in part at least..
@@crazybeatlefan I just interviewed Art Shamsky the Mets Right fielder which will be out tomorrow,You will enjoy that one also

Picking up the discussion of radio announcers, to me Vince and Lou (aka Vince Lloyd and Lou Boudreau) were the absolute best, no doubt. I learned so much about baseball from listening to Lou -- on the radio, no pictures needed. Jack Brickhouse on TV was okay, but Vince and Lou were so very good. I don't think Doug Feldmann has written about broadcasters, but that might be an area of explore. My ideal would be a history of Cubs radio, starting with Bert Wilson (before my time) though Jack Quinlan, then on to Vince and Lou, and their successors.
Thank You David for your response and perspective on this..
A Champion in his field
Good interview John. Always great to here about the Golden years of The NHL. Those were the best times for hockey. Agreed Andre should be in the HOF, so should JC Tremblay and Tardif. Surprised to hear Big M dissing Bowman
Thanks Phillip, glad you follow these,I truly appreciate it
You bet, you should profile some of the more unheralded Hawks, Pappin, Dennis Hull, etc
Roger gave the expansion Sabres an elite goalie coming out of the gate. The Buffalo community loved him and he and Perreault gave them credibility. Had he stayed healthy, who knows what Buffalo would've done? PS My neighborhood friend also had a Tony O jersey in street hockey
Thank You so much for this great Compliment on Roger
Interesting interview

Awesome video of my former teammate from Hanover Park. I am going to share with my kids in the future who are sophmores in high school. I got his autograph on our team picture from Hanover Park when we were both on the Phillies in Hanover Park when he played with the MLB Phillies in 2006 in spring training against the Yankees, which was the team he was traded to during the season. Then I saw in spring training in Sarasota County the year after they won it, I believe it was 2022. My son was in left field berm, so he didn't met Sal. Sal, I know him as a different name, doesn't remember me from HP, but that was like 40 years ago when we were teammates in Hanover Park. He grew up on the northside of HP and I was on the far southside of HP. I just bring up some of the same names that we both know, and he knows I cannot be making those names up to get his attention.
Larry,I will mention to him the next time I see Sal..Thank You for the kind words it means a lot..You brought up some great memories
