Walleye Ice Fishing with Hummingbird Helix 7
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.3 года назад
In this short video, Tommy goes out for an evening of walleye fishing in late February. Fishing has been very slow in Northern Saskatchewan, Canada, but it was a beautiful day to be on the ice (minus the 35km/h wind). Although no large fish were caught, a handful of eater-size walleye were caught with the help of the trusty Hummingbird Helix 7. Enjoy the video!

Early August Fishing with a surprise catch!!!
Worms from hell...
Put your hand in there, the leeches will grab you and pull you in..... Gruesome...
Did you say (fill-et-ing) knife? Good lord.
I remember as a kid i had a leach i brought home on me somehow got it off salted it maybe my mom and i put it in a bottle. The next day there where like 1000 leeches…. Tiny freaked me out lasting memory i was like 5 maybe 6. Nature is timeless. Anyone breed these ?
Pro tip, dont swim there in the summer! 😂
Good setup 👍
Hi. How’s the insulation compared to others like regular eskimos?
So what is the model?
Witch model is this is it the Bps xps wide botom thermal hub ice shelter
Great video
Thanks for the video
I would really like to de-leech my lake! …cannot stand those things.
Well done.
What kind of water temperature do you need to start in the spring thanks for sharing Rulo Nebraska 🇺🇲
40-50F was where I was at when I caught these
nice
I'm in Newfoundland Canada and I was wondering if it is possible to catch leaches this way in the winter.
I don't think they're active in the winter.
How about in land
What lb test you guys using and what lb I'd your leader line
12 lb mono with 10lb fluoro leader
Good job guys, look after them.
Thank you so much noone else has this tent vid
Thanks Kyle! I recently spent an evening in the tent in -20 and it performed very well. I’m impressed with it
I have a question I'm working on a project for having a leeche and a fish to cooperate in food matter so they can work together on food and everoment development
I’m only getting tiny ones,I will have to try another spot
Money leechers.
Great overview! How durable/heavy duty do the seams and zippers feel?
Tough to say… seems fine so far but I’d say they’re not quite as good as others
You don't need bolts...just fold the pie plate a bit more than half and fold over first lip...it will also make the lip stronger for throwing out
Smart
Loved it
How do you keep them alive at home for a week to 3 weeks, thanks for the traping of them video
Keep them refrigerated and use rainwater. Change the water every day or 2 for the first week ish and then after that usually change it every 4 or 5 days. Pull out any dead ones or it’ll start to smell as well!
How do you pick what ponds to try? Just a guessing game?
I usually try to find a pond with deep water nearby or else it gets too warm and full of algae. This one has an old dugout near it. After that its basically a guessing game!
Hi wow a they are a gross a.
Man u not scared of them😵??
Lol! I hated them at first!
@@greatwhitenorthadventures4644 They are kind of like an odd, slimy, water caterpillar lol
Impressive!!!
Thank you!
Can we use these leeches for leech therapy or any other medicinal purpose??

Oh wow that's a awesome haul you got that time. I'm gonna set another trap tonight in my dugout and hopefully I have some luck. Great video
Good luck! Hope you get a bunch!
is there different breeds of leeches? if so..what to look for?
There are. I catch 2 different ones. The smaller black ones are the best. I sometimes catch really big brown coloured ones called horse leaches and they just wrap around the hook. Not as good for bait
Oh I always look for a really dirty bottom
Which state are you from ?
Saskatchewan, Canada
You don’t want to swim their
Those are some nice leeches, I'm from Northern Minnesota and own a bait shop, we use turkey liver and tin traps, you should make 30 of those cans and set up the whole slough
I would have enough leeches to last a lifetime!
Thanks for sharing
Great Video on trapping leeches. Can I use the same technique to catch leeches which are on the land? You know what , you guy's are searching for leeches for fish bait or medical purposes. But in my case I want to get rid of it. In my estate I think around lakhs of leeches can be found. We want to get rid of it just because it sucks blood and it is very annoying. It looks like people sell/buy these leeches(I was not aware of it) as per the comments seen here. I can be helpful it it really helps someone.
Have you ever tried to keep and breed any leeches that you've caught from trapping?
No I haven’t
i know I'm quite off topic but do anybody know of a good website to stream new series online?

good catch,,,after you catch them, how long do they live for? I want to keep them for a week or so,,
Thanks, you can keep them for pretty much as long as you want if you tend to them. Keep them in the fridge and change their water every day for the first week or so after trapping and then change the water every few days after that.
@@greatwhitenorthadventures4644 thank you friend,, but why keep them in fridge?
@@green1394 the low temperature keeps them dormant. They won’t last as long if they’re kept out of the fridge.
@@greatwhitenorthadventures4644 OK,,no worries,,thanks again,,
I keep mine in a gallon zip lock bag with soaked shredded news paper , they last me all summer
