This was filmed leaving a car show one day - too bad there was traffic, although I'm sure the Hellcat would have beaten me - we WILL race one day once I get some traction issues sorted out - enjoy

This video was taken in October 1996. I found this car before it was restored sitting in the front yard of a trailer home on Hwy 14 just north of Greer SC in 1984 & it was very much NOT for sale - keep in mind that when this video was taken, there wasn't a fraction of the reproduction parts available that there are now.. The asking price in 1996 was $48,500 (which was high-dollar back then) - t...

This is a 1970 Cuda that I've owned since 1987, restoration completed in 1988. I took the original 383 out of it & replaced it with this Ray Barton 528 cubic inch Hemi in 2004

Absolutely wicked!
Can't go wrong either way...Mopar Muscle will always rule old school or new.
I miss mine. Mine was blue
You know those Hellcats are no comparison 😮
Some years ago I had a 71 Charger R/T, and I really enjoyed that car.
Wow… Now that is sharp! Amazing job!
I had a 69 charger back in the 80s& 90s that was a cool car after 1970 the body style went to shit and so did the performance
Hats off to you, I have enough trouble changing oil let alone tackling a project like this, outstanding.
Ray Barton builds the nastiest HEMIs on the planet. I would love to own one! The ultimate street machine engine.
Would have been a cool commercial, I wonder how many would have recognized a '71 Charger...
Why never be on air?
My brother’s company made the commercial out of a video I took of a car I did a mechanical restoration on & I tried to mimic a super 8mm video of my dad backing out of the garage going to work at Chrysler Highland Park in a new company car. Once the video is sold & paid for, who knows 🤷♂️ maybe they changed their minds
It was lacking CGI special effects.
I learned to drive in a 1981 Mirada. Loved seeing this CMX turned into a beast.
Had an 81 Mirada w/ 225 Slant six...swapped K-frame and slapped a mean 340 in along with a sure grip rear-end and 727 TF w/ stage 2 shift kit. Nothing compared to what u did tho! Amazing work brother! and a CMX to boot...smh
Great tunes
Qwantwz hp??
Great idea to actual completion. I had a 1980 Mirada and loved the styling. You did a great job of imagining what you could do to make it a restomod dream car. Recently saw a video of the Mirada prototype. It had hidden headlights. Might be fun to add those at some point. Thanks for sharing your creation!
Nice! I really liked the og interior.
Nice car dominator
Had a couple of these cars back in the day. Put a 71 440 in mine. The amount of hours spent on this build must be crazy!
What a great build, excellent job! We got to see the boys grow up in front of our eyes. You're a great dad for showing them the ropes.
Thanks! In the last scene of the Mirada passing, my oldest was the one driving it 😎👍
Incredible! Extremely impressed.
Hey Amigo what would you charge to make them for me, plus shipping and i would paint it and put it together back home.
Vaya un veterano que es el Plymouth barracuda hemi 440 six pack Bro y el otro es un hellcat
Amazing work never se somting like this woow congratulations to your quality of work
That Mirada is a Unibody, so I understand all the body strengthening.
Wow, that's amazing, the effort you put into this project. Thanks for the video!
bought vs built...kind of low key hate modern garbage, regardless of what it pretends to be
Adds are scams.
Absolutely incredible job. One question: I never got but a brief glimpse of the red hemicuda. Did it come from Washington State. My late friend, Brian, owned an oem monotone red hemicuda like yours for a couple decades. I worked on it a few times. Is this the same one?
Thanks Bud.. the cuda is originally a non non numbers matching 383 car. I bought it in 1987 & restored it “original” in 1988. Put the Hemi in it in 2004, but I put it through a more extensive “resto mod” conversion in 2017. Videos of that car on my channel 😎
@@radarvectors2 yeah, I saw another video after I posted. Yeah, 6spd, shaker, aftermarket big ralleys, great mods.
Talking about perfect sufficient building the most cleanest Mercury maraudis Street rod you got my vote awesome build the end
WOW,,, Looks like a 1984 Mercury Capri. . . . . just kidding. .. looks amazing, and you obviously earned every mile you and your descendents are gonna put on it. That looked a ton of work. A 1983 black 318 2bbl LA car w/tan int. just showed up in town, and romur has it that it's for sale. I kinda know the people next door to where it's staying temporarily, so I got to get a good look around it, while I was there I wasn't gonna miss the chance to see the interior and pop the hood. The whole car is in surprisingly good shape, and it's apparently just come off of an 8 year hiatus of sitting somehwere in Texas. It seems to be living up to it's reputation of not running lean very well, because the idle has to be set pretty high or it won't stay running,, otherwise runs like typical 318. I have no idea what they're worth in decent condition these days, but The guy needs a work truck type vehicle and I have a very nice 97 Expedition I'm thinking about offering as a trade, simply because I like the Mirada. . . . the first gen Marauder,, LOL,, and I really don't need the Expedition, and never drive it. I'd much rather have the 360 or the 440 Mirada, but fat chance of even finding one at a reasonable price, if a guy even could find one for sale. I've been noticing Miradas popping up all over the internet this past year, like they were just made and released. Anyway I know where a confiscated motorhome with a running 440 is sitting for sale CHEAP. It was a rolling methlab so nobody wants it. I'm thinking pull the 440(entire drivetrain),, scrap the cats and the rest of the metals/aluminums, and end up with a free 440 besides the hours of sweat equity. I love mopars just not 318's,,, in fact nothing under a 400 preferably because I've blown up everything under 400 several times over each in my Barracua back in the day, and I haven't been able to blow up 400 and up. Shit I'm just rambling now, I need to go to bed. PEACE
OLD SCHOOL MUSCLE 💪
Detroit Iron and Heavy Metal. Awesome build. Awesome video.
When you think your Hellcat is quick....
Very stunning and hard job, so many years. The result, it`s how must be in the end, impressive. The guys who worked with Chairman Lee just had to see this one to believe. The early`s 80`s were very rough time for Highland Park, so this one should be like this, the very first day it was launched, but....lack of money, other targets, gas milage, reputation, took back the quality fact, so much for those survival days. Here at my home city, Bogota, Colombia, we had Aspen and Diplomats models, assembled here, but rebagded Dodge Dart and Dodge Coronet, as well, and the Slant 225 Six, fitted with a Carter 2 barrel carburator, the Hp numbers were 145. So, with 90 Hp, how could you move this car in those years?. Chrysler J body are, in my humble opinion, very attractive and luxury personal coupes of that hard era. Congratulations, my friend, what a piece of master job!!!.
Thanks for the kind words. I travel to Bogota often & occasionally see some old Dodge cars & trucks on the road down there. Always good to see!
That’s going to be Alwsome car !
That's my dad driving the hellcat! I always hear a lot about that specific cuda too :D
Cuda wins
@ 0:55 >>> Anybody know where he got the red shirt w/Mopar badge ?
A friend of mine made it - just sewed on patches. Car show shirt 🤷♂️
Beautiful car, good ole Ray Barton Hemi Ray builds the best Hemi engines. What size tire you running in rear?
Thanks- 285/45/17 definitely not enough
My uncle owned a Cuda!! That shit was clean and freaking loud.
You know it’s right when it sounds like it’s cuttin out
Dodge people .....are like ants....they everywhere but they dont go anywhere....haha
bad ass mopar and a manual to boot, something this phone zombie generation will never drive, good anti theft device though
Power + irresponsibility = traffic deaths. Keep your racing on the track where it belongs.
You’re totally right, look how irresponsible we were 🤣
You call that a "race" ? A race is when you both nail it when the lite turns green , then redline it thru 2 gears.
@@michaelmoon8856 I didn’t call it a race.. I just cracked the throttle a little bit 😆
Great choice of music for the video and a great job on creating a good looking ride...
Thanks! 😎
68 Cuda I think.
Sounds like a 440 with a set of indy heads. Badass motors
Dude in the 70 opened the cutouts when its go time.
On my death 🛌 I'll take any old school over new school!! They just don't make them like that anymore. 🇺🇸 1st 4ever
