Now I know what version this is. You got the 1985 Thorm Emi VHS with the original mono sound mix but was sped up to fit on a VHS tape so the music has a higher pitch than normal here.

Remember these drivers cars what great drivers they were. Racing was always great. Never missed the Ipswich speed weekend. Very happy memories

Lovely old footage. I remember Diggy Smith driving a mini stop. Always some action when he was in the race.

Hard to believe this movie is 40 years old.

Henri had been unwell for over a week before the crash and was incredibly tired. Even if there was an issue with the car, you would expect an alert and fit Henri to at least react with the break pedal before the crash. Yet it doesn't appear that he did.

there's NO WAY Henri died for the corner per se.

The home video companies really fucked up “The Terminator” legacy - and ruined it for the new generation and the ignorant first time reactors on RUclips - by massively altering the sound effects of the original film so much that it is now a totally different movie in a bad way. Why couldn’t they just leave it alone? It was fine as it was.

The mysterious object could have been the right rear wheel. I read that a policeman who was watching the rally from a hill said that the car was already making unusual movements before the curve. My theory: the wheel wasn't attached properly or something was broken. Due to the load change at the entrance to the curve, the wheel came loose (rolled down the hill). Due to the loss of lateral control, the car suddenly oversteered and could no longer be controlled. the car spun and flew off. The right rear wheel was missing from the wreck.

There is videomaterial from the beginning of stage 18 , Henri and Sergio starting . Not the clearest quality but you definitely see Henri immediately turning his head right , as if he felt something is wrong on the right side of Lancia . Despite the road goes straight ahead the car 's rear is not completely linear . Another video from the beginning of 18 , shot from the back, gives an impression of kind of blue smoke puff around the rear right wheel , almost immediately as they accelerate. Rim? Tyre misplaced, some bolts loose? Auriol had a similar situarion once, wheel/rim failed after some kilometers from the start due to incorrect placing. Just my observation and theory but could explain the whole thing if true. Also , before the accident corner, 2 long left-handers, great pressure on the rear right. Finally gave in on the accident corner?

Prefer the original VHS dub.. It's symbolic of 80s movies, IMHO

My mom took me to see this at the theater when it came out and we missed the first 5 minutes of the movie. While the end credits were running she asked if I wanted to stay and watch it again so we could see the beginning. Pretty sure I said "yes" before she even finished asking

Pity this version was not maintained for the dvd/bluray versions. Can remaster the image, but the sounds maintain. It was perfect. I do not know why the sounds were changed. Bad decision.

The Terminator is possibly the greatest "B-movie" ever made. By that i mean, it is the greatest low-budget sci-fi ever produced. The Terminator is a great inspiration for future filmmakers. Cameron showed us what can be possible on a small budget and its freaking amazing. T2 on the other hand is the greatest action movie ever made. Cameron showed us whats possible once youve established yourself in the industry. And its freaking phenomenal. I just wish we could get a new 5.1 remix for The Terminator. The .45 longslide should sound like a freaking cannon. The audience should be just as shocked and stunned by that weapon as the 35 year old Sarah Connors neighbors after the Terminator blew her head off. Theres an interesting deleted scene revealing the aftermath where Sarah Connors neighbors are running around in complete panic mode. But the newest 5.1 remix makes all of these bad**s weapons sound like squeaky toys, including the shotguns. You cant feel anything from a sound effect like that.

I agree SOME of the original sound effects are better, the shotgun sounds are awesome BUT the work they did to add metallic ricochets when Reese shoots Arnold and the effects they added when he smashes through the window completely improve the movie!

How is it possible that this has a beefier shotgun sound than the BluRay!!!!!!
