    There is such a good conversation around balance in this discussion. It's been an interesting theme too over the last 10 years to see newer folk come into their careers with a literal version of the "bring your whole self to work" mindset. I think you guys definitely strike a resonant tone on bringing a bit of constraint to that mindset, and I like that it's defined by "bring what helps, not hinders". Always a pleasure to listen!

    I worked with Mary and I can confirm that her attention and dedication in celebrating small and big successes of individuals and teams has a real positive effect on employees. Especially in her higher up position as a team leader, she could spread positivity through meaningful acknowledgement of good work on a daily basis. The thoughtful thinking that went behind the right format of celebration was visible, and because it made people feel comfortable and accustomed to celebrating in the right tone, without feeling on the spot. Thank you Mary again for what you've have done!

    What people seem to be missing is that a good video can be re-uploaded. When you are starting out you won't be in the algorithm. In time, once you have more views on a consistent basis those original videos, if you are happy with them, can be re-uploaded for a second go-round. Good stuff is good stuff. The only time you can't is if you are talking about time sensitive topics. Cooking videos can be recycled. OR... You can remake it using the same script.

      @@interactiveworkshopsive always had this mindset due to autism, it's got me in trouble before, when you constantly tell the truth you notice most people can't handle it even if they ask for it, as an autistic adult lying hurts me more than the truth because I like to take people at their word and I like when people give me feedback by telling the truth because I'm always looking to improve, for example when I was in secondary school I was having a particularly rough week and I had forgotten to shower for 4 days, rightfully so my friends called me out for my greasy hair and B.O this made me make sure to plan my time to make sure I have a full shower at least every other day unless it's in the summer where I'll do one a day in the evening

    I"m obviously so pleased that this starts with me saying "we want our kids to lie" whilst simultaneously having lots of the chats with my kids about how important it is that they are truthful. So much dissonance.

    • @interactiveworkshops
      @interactiveworkshops Год назад

      Haha so true! There is a fascinating amount of cognitive dissonance surrounding lying. We all need and want people to be truthful and yet we also know that there are times when lying is necessary

    I stopped listening when he said ‘the cost of labour matches up with what you’re delivering’. I’ve never had a job where this is anything near the case

    • @interactiveworkshops
      @interactiveworkshops Год назад

      It is sadly true that many jobs don't offer pay that matches the value of what we deliver. This is why Jonna mentioned "fair pay" in his statement. As you point out an alternative way for companies to make profit is to pay their employees less than the value of what they deliver. Fair pay and a positive working environment seems like a better solution to us.
