i'm proud as a melody that btob stubbornly prefers to use handmics in dance songs as well. Personally, I feel like handmics make them look more like a singer and not just a performer (which I feel like some idols are as they focus on the performance and dance than actual singing..there's some people who even say what's different from an idol and backdancer if idols don't sing live and only has fancy choreo on stage). Also, I think it would've been nice if the hoobae group used the standing mics as more than just a prop for dancing (maybe taking the mic out of the stand and using the handmic to sing or using earmic when dancing but using standmic and actually singing into the standmic when standing in front of it because when they stand in front of standmics, their body is kind of far away from the actual standmic and its obvious that the only purpose of handmic is to just be a prop for choreo). Also, I've seen comments on btob cover video and Korean Shinhwa fans say that they usually don't like hoobaes covering Brand New because it holds special meaning to them (first win) and hoobaes usually can't sing well enough to match the original piece. But they said that Btob cover was the first and only cover they actually think was well done and not disrespectful to the original song.
