The Farm Hand

Добавлен 19 окт 2020
Welcome to The Farm Hand, a channel about our small beef farm and pretty much any other project or things I find interesting. Stick around and you find out how to not do something, or we might get lucky and do it right. Who knows?
Cattle Squeeze Chute Rebuild
I bought an old Powder River squeeze chute that needed some repairs. After a little rattle can face lift, its ready to go to work.

My father in-law purchased a 2001 Chevy 2500 to use on the farm. But first we have to get it running with some new fuel lines.

We pull in one of our older Gooseneck trailers and give it a much-needed refresher.
Quick Disc Mower repair
Просмотров 13 тыс.Год назад
I found a good deal on a New Holland 615 disc mower that I couldn't pass up. It had a couple things that needed to be addressed before we could put it to work.
Farm house Nursery Remodel

I try and surprise my wife with a completed nursery remodel for my son but ultimately end up forcing her to finish her own gift.

Putting new lipstick on a 30 year old Ford 4630 so we can put it back to work for another 30. I also mount a loader and fab skid steer mounts for it.

I re-work some old gates in our cattle chute to make working our stock safer and less stress. Also I make some new scales to go in our freshly made cut gate. Thanks for watching! Where did you find the hazard lights for it? I need to replace the ones on our 4630
Great work man!!!!! Taking pride in your work. Good man!
So I have a similar one that I’m working on repairing now. Happens to be missing the gearbox, and I’m trying to reach out to Massey to get it or something comparable. Do you happen to have anyone you go to for parts on it?
She’s a looker for sure! Great job!
That PTO shaft has to be able to move in and out, I could see it is stuck solid. It will take that bearing and u joints out very quickly.
Did you have to strip the wheels of paint before painting them black?
Can I have it
Nice job! I’m currently working on the same exact project and I need a little help with the cut gate setup. Is there anything that would hold it open? Mine doesn’t have any way to hold open and I am trying to find out if I’m missing something. Thanks
Build me to too need a head gate
I love that mower
Did you figure out how to change the gearbox and bar oil yet?
Music volume is most annoying! (Ruins an otherwise good video.)
ARE YOU GONNA USE IT NOW THAT ITS FIXED?? OR YA SELLING IT? JUST CURIOUS. FROM AN OLD FARMER. NICE TO WATCH YOU WORK ON IT. NO, I NOT WANT TO BUY.,
Wow! Awesome job man! Really quite a transformation! Love it!
Were you able to find parts for 8x2 synchronize shuttle transmission for 4630?
The only thing that I needed was the neutral safety switches and the gasket for the top plate. I didn't look for any other parts, so Im not sure how hard they would be to find.
Nice job. Never seen one without a cab. We can't have tractors without a cab here in UK after 1976.
Interesting, makes sense why I always see the cabs on UK tractors. All the cool old Fords for sale are always in UK haha.
Come on man, not for sure if you’re trying to be like Andrew Cammarata or what. It’s kind of a useless video because you did not even show your work. Just a very odd way to do a video like this. You could’ve saved a lot of trouble and just made a one minute video. You could’ve just showed before and after because that’s pretty much what you did in the video
Yeah it's something I'm working on, I'm still figuring our how to record and edit videos so it'll take some time. I do need to record more of the process, I'm almost always on a time crunch so it makes it difficult to slow down and record everything. I appreciate the feedback though.
I'm the first comment and like!!! You got a good channel man. I really like it so far. I hope it keeps growing. I really liked the Chevy vid. I got a 99 Silverado so I understand all the GM problems. Anyway, keep up the good content, I really like it.
I appreciate that a lot! I've got a lot to learn as far as recording and editing the videos. Its hard sometimes remembering to record the process, but I'm hoping I get better as I go. Thank you for the feedback!
Cattle trailers dothe same thing popping sound
Those connectors man I trashed them and decided to ue electrical tape instead but those connectors I trashed but the when. Connected the sie markers in tho there side I used those connectors it worked but I don't Ike those connectors but it wasn't my trailer it was in an automotive shop for re wiring

I put new marker lughtso n a trailer 2 other wash helping well lon story short someone fucked up and there was only1 person working n that the wre so the wire got ripped off on the road so had to fix it but they hooked the battery up s isaid fuck it and reconnected the wires
This is not a 2003
Thanks for this video. It appears that your trailer is built with 6" channel for stringers and 3" channel cross members along with 4" drop axles and no dove tail. Please confirm this one way or the other. I'm wondering what the deck height is? Thanks
That is correct, sits around 28" if your sitting level. That height works real well for equipment, if you were loooking to haul cars I would want a dovetail. I've loaded some sedans on this and it gets a little tricky clearing the break over angle.
Hurst is built in Washburn Tn
That's right, I knew it was somewhere in east TN.
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Thank ya!
Good deal
have a similar trailer to this on our farm, that was bought new. same style except the ramps ours are pull out. Ours is a 20ft PJ. good trailer great design best part i like it sits low to the ground.
Yeah that's the main reason we decided to keep this one around. As long as it fits between the fenders, its so much easier to load equipment on.
Nice tractor Would you sale it?
Thank you! and I appreciate the interest but I think were gonna try and get as much use as we can out if it. Its hard to beat these old Fords.
@@thefarmhand8000 I am looking for a 4wd 30 series as well. If you hear of a good deal of one can you answer in the comments to this? Thanks!
@@carlandrews5810 Sure thing, most of the ones I come across on FB marketpace or any dealer site are usually to high IMO. I find a lot of good deals on govdeals.com. It just takes a while sometimes before you find one thats worth a drive.
May I email you about the scale?
Sure thing, you can email me at thefarmhandllc@outlook.com
What is the approximate dimensions of the frame you made for the scale?
Did you get a reply Back
No. I ended up buying my scale from amazon and fastening it to my existing chute
I apologize for not getting back to you sooner, my notifications were not turned on. The dimensions on this were 36" x 72". I based them off of my squeeze chute size.
Enjoyed video nice setup..
Glad you enjoyed it
