Bruh change that thumbnail
I miss these two gentlemen on PBS. Wish I could turn back time . I'd like to get the final two seasons on DVD . But I don't believe they release them .
Absolutely beautiful work
This is the Bob Ross of fly tying I feel like
It's a little dated, we got much better threads these days, but it sure does hold up well. I fish the floating nymph a lot especially during the Sulpher hatch we have here in the North East and in PA. A lot of the time, Its just something a little different to the fish than the usual imatations that are fished these days like the compardun, and the sparkle dun, that I been tying for more than four decades now. God how I remember those neropreme waders. Now if Sage would just make RP-II's again, my old 8'6" 5 wt, walked away. Maybe the best general purpose trout rod Sage ever made.
Thanks Joe! You're the greatest! Except for me that is! Just kidding Joe! hahahaha Tight lines!!!!!!
Great content! Mel is still the best. Rip Mel!
Tankiou perfect
Music selection is great
Please reupload. The sound is completely missing and would love to hear what Joe is saying.
Wow, can I get the material list please.
Best video for handling deer hair I've ever seen. I've used it for years. Fishing tips are great.
This is Jimmy Nix not Mike Lawson the title is wrong but still a classic 🧑🌾👍🎣🐟
She is a natural instructor. What a treasure!
i learned to tye from this vhs tape. thank you for making this
Grey fox variant one of my mentors' fav to tie. Rip Don.
He reminds me of the best high school teacher I ever had. So much enthusiasm! Thanks so much for posting.
The Master!
I bow cast a hook right into my hand...its nice when your alone and nobody is watching and now I get that.
Please fix the sound, there seems to be no other sources for this (originally VHS) and the rest of the series is great
I have 2 or 3 of Hal's tapes. I know one is called "The May Fly"
I was really getting into that. What video was this taken from?
To catch a Tarpon on a Fly Outfit has to be exhilarating
Where does one get the fly box on his chest?
Not sure about the container holding the fly boxes but the boxes look like old perrine aluminum fly boxes, I have a few of them and they are awesome.
It’s the Richardson Joe Humphreys edition
with danish text... funny!
pioneer! legend...all of the above💯🙏🙏🎣🐠
Anyone have a link to purchase Turkey hackle?
No sound
Wish they would release the entire series on Utube
Thanks Davie. A younger man here😅
Probably not the best idea to wear a bright blue shirt in that environment.
Why?
This man Joe forgot more about FF than most will ever know and that my friends is a FACT !!
Wow..
Thank you for posting these.
OMG I USED TO WATCH THIS SHOW!!! It was on broadcast tv in Kalispell, MT on Saturday mornings!
Isn’t that oval cast also known as a Belgium cast? I remember reading about it in one of AJ Mcclain’s books.
Would like to see one of my mentor's favorites: the gray fox variant.
What a gem , legend RIP Mel 🎣🙏
Great video. A reminder that expensive equipment is no substitute for skill and knowledge.
I know how to catch fish Joe!😄
I grew up watching these two tie flies I enjoyed every minute of them on Saturday mornings. I was 14 at that time I'm 69 now and still tying. thank you fellas you taught me well. May you bask in GOD'S light on a shimmering stream.🙏 Thank you Leroy.😉
Re the Carey Special, read the true history of the Carey Special in Steve Raymonds book "Kamloops", page 138-139, "He (Colonel Carey) started the fly when he was camped at Arthur Lake and I think dressed it for a dragonfly nymph. G. Needoba Kamloops BC
Dave is a super nice guy, but he needs to let Leroy tie the fly and talk more! I was waiting for Leroy to say to Dave who is Tying the fly Dave! Regardless, great channel cool fly!
Had the pleasure of him signing his book for me several years ago. It was signed “To fishing fairytales” Good luck, Mel Krieger
I grew up watching your show on Saturday's folks and I learned a lot. My dad bought me my first fly tying at age 14 and I'm now 69yrs. young and still love to tie flies. It's true fly tying "IS" an art. Thank you.
pheasant rump feather Dave. Now a days we call it UV resin ou the head.Thank you guy's I grew up watching your show .👍by the way I'm 70 now and I still love tying my own flies. Thanx guy's.
RIP Dave Whitlock, easily one of the greatest fly tying innovators out there.
a great Lady in the field of fly fishing that I would have liked to know respect and admiration
Seemed like it could be useful and educational, instead it's just a badly chopped up, low res, frustrating viewing experience
What is dubbing made from
