Transmission fluid into a transfer case I doesnt it use gesr oil

I did my differential today that grey stuff looks like break in grease like I used to build a motor once along time ago.

I’ve heard in the past if you change your transmission fluid and filter it will shorten the life span of your 4 X 4 truck transmission? My concern is I will shorten the life span of my transfer case if I drain and refill with fresh ATF. I was hoping to get your thoughts. Thank you for your time.

I have an 07 Z71 4x4 with the Vortec Max 6.0L and dont know the size ring gear in it. Does the 10 bolt rear diff and the 14 bolt denote the ring gear size? Fantastic video too!!!
