This channel is dedicated to all the DIY enthusiasts who own a Tesla.
Tesla won't make these modifications for you, and many aftermarket dealers won't touch the electronics for fear of voiding the warranty. For those that do these mods, they charge an arm and a leg. Here, you can see the specific modifications that don't void your warranty.
You can see how I made specific modifications to my Tesla, and you could learn from what I did, even from my mistakes. I tried to do it professionally and very clean. I try to edit down my videos to the essentials, without missing the important details, so I try not to blab on and on.

Just found these. I wonder how reliable they are. Do they offer trunk ones as well for a 2018? Thanks.
Does this work with 2024 Model Y?
There was a software update yesterday. Does it still work with the new update?
this 100% voiding the warranty lol
Is there a way to do this that will keep it on all the time? I want to power a 12 volt refrigerator that I have in the trunk. I use the center console outlet now but I have other things to power and the refrigerator keeps getting low energy errors if it's not the only thing using the power because I'm using a splitter.
Frustrating to see this video. The unit i got from Tlyard just last week does not look like the one you install here. And mine really does not work unless i push down on the hood which means I get no benefit. It does work if i let the hood drop 12-18 inches but that is mot acceptable. Its supposed to gently suck it down. Hopefully they will respond to the email i just sent. The link you provided does get me to a good contact for them. For some reason i was not successful trying to go through their website previously. Thanks for the video.
Clamp amp meters is only gonna tell you how many amps is going through the wire it’s not gonna tell you voltage
Does anyone know what that red wire (at 15 amps) actually powers??
Anyone know if it works with FSD 12.5
Dude you’re doing waaaaay too much. No way I’m drilling holes in my car. What’s your expertise on this anyway? Electrical engineer or just diy dad?
Tesla what? Model S? Model Y? Model three? And oh my God what is that music? The issue is the newer cars that don't have fuses
hope you see this! I need to accomplish the same thing as you show here but in the trunk bootlid. Any idea how I would go about figuring out which wire is VC right without multimetering each wire?
I followed your method minus the additional inline waterproof fuse However when finally put in gear it stays on , once I accelerate the radar shuts off , then turns on if there’s enough time before I accelerate where it shuts off again and again . Do you have an idea why this might be ?
my GUESS would be that you hooked to the wrong wire

Nice installation video, will use it
Used this video for my installation. Thanks good sir
Well done and easy to follow video too !
Doesn't work..... refunded. Comments are being deleted as well.
The package just arrived from China and I just finished the install and I have to say $140 for a little chip is very much priced at perceived value instead of actual value. Also the install is a lot more difficult and time consuming than demonstrated. You will need two flat head screw drivers that you must push on the braces simultaneously until all three notched bolts get released, if only 1 or 2 get released the whole horn/airbag assembly has to be pushed in again and you try again with the two screw drivers. The chip on the wire will be plugged into the volume module and tucked under the volume module while the other end of the cord plugs into the original wire.
I'm glad you got it. I'm so happy with mine. even with all the updates, my chip still does its job. For me, I didn't have to push on the braces simultaneously. one at a time was fine. but good to know all the nuances out there.
@@teslamods I've already done a few hundred miles with it and it is a much better experience with no Tesla nag, but the cabin camera still gets very irritating when I'm trying to do navigation, turn off automatic windshield wipers, limit lane changes, check tire pressure, or anything else that has to do with the touch screen. I'm open any ideas to block the camera but not trigger the warning. I'm thinking about putting a blurry glass in front of it or box off its field of view.
@@developer-of-things gosh, maybe I should've mentioned it, but we only have 3 tesla's to test on... I cover my cabin camera. With that, the only thing I can't do is Full FSD and self-drive navigation. I never liked the navigation anyway (too many last minute changes), so I only use the basic autopilot.
@@teslamods I'm on the same page as you about not liking the FSD feature. The two main reasons I have to interrupt FSD is to protect my $7,000 rims from curb rash and to prevent people behind me from getting impatient with the Tesla driving too slow and taking forever to make turns and auto-park. I won't be dropping the extra money for FSD on my next Tesla. Right now I'm just doing what I can to make it work to get the most use out of it since I already got it.
@@developer-of-things yes, the FSD is too slow in most places, and sometimes dangerous on city streets. But I truly love autopilot
2023 was a downgrade with lack of ultrasonic sensors
I enjoy the USS, specifically bought the 22 as opposed to the 23 for that reason. The 22 has biodefense mode unlike the 23 as well. Downgrade! Also teslas making them cheaper as later years come out. The performance Y on the 22 had real brembos as opposed to caliper covers after 2022 model years!!

What happens if that airbag goes off?
it's fine. it doesn't get in the way. it's a chip located way in the corner and doesn't get in the way of the airbag
Weights work fine, just as they’ve been for 6 years.
No, they don't. Car detects "defeat device" and autopilot or FSD kicks you out
You can still attach a small bottle of water to the wheel., with the water it makes variations and its all good
Will this work for the new refreshed model 3 highland ?😅

Do you have any videos for running the wire across the dash? I have my radar detected mounted behind the screen using a magsafe mount and ring.
Can you help me with knowing whixh wires to tap to install a line out concerter in 2024 model y with subwoofer
Question, will this still give me warnings to take the wheel or is it bypassing that as well?
warnings still come up. but they are clicked out by the device.
All I needed was the firewall hole. Why wouldn't you connect to the 12v under the hood instead of at the power module? You could make an independent circuit with a fuse at the battery. Seems like you took the long road. And how you getting to the fuse in the console if it blows, plus an unnecessary extra under the hood? One at the power connection is enough. Easy removal later. Bonus; your key never gets disconnected.
Hello, how can I convert this to USB c output to power my dashcam?
If anyone is having trouble getting the airbag off, on my car, you needed to press in on both sides for the 3rd pin on the bottom to release. When you buy the module, you're given the tool shown in the video, but you'll probably need another similar to it to get the airbag out. Just did the install and it was easy. Haven't done a drive yet to test, but I'm expecting good things.

Hello...I got my 2024 Model Y last week, trying to tap 4 different red wires and none of them work. Has anyone tried successful on 2024 Model Y? I appreciate for any advice.
Have you tried this method? I just got my MYP 2 days ago and was going for this route? Did you get it figured out?
@@strykher I had the same problem until I figured out that the car has to be disconnected from the charger in order for the correct red wire to switch off when the car turns off, otherwise all the red wires were constantly on. Just finished up the hardwiring my V1 Gen2 on my 2020 MYP and it seems to be working like the video shows.
@@gerrytseng I ended up not using this method. I went to hotwire it on the tow 12v wire from the left of the driver side dash instead which work perfectly.
Any version for the 2017 Tesla Model X?

How long before a software update outsmarts this module? For example, the wheel must go three clicks, for example.
They just did with 12.3.6. These chips no longer work (yes, I have one)
@@mrufo2297 my chip still works fine even after yesterday's update.
@@teslamods what update did you do? I have 2024.14.9 pending but don't want to lose ability to use my chip for the anti nag

I’m gonna be installing a train horn in my frunk and put an air compressor in the trunk. I’ve been looking for ways to route the air line into the frunk and this video helped me! Thanks!
What is the difference between the TSL1 and TSL2 module other than $10?
TSL1: slightly bigger board, 34 Mhz chip, operating temp -40 C - 105 C TSL2: smaller board, 64 Mhz chip, operating temp -50 C - 120 C

This hack only works if you can cancel the nag by adjusting the set speed. This only works in the US, Canada, Sourh Korea and Thailand. If you do not live in one of these countries, money spent on this device is just wasted. I don't know if Tesla Mods PJ knows about this, but I think they should at least mention it in the video to avoid disappointment.
Yes, indeed, here in Europe this hack don't work: wasted money
The question I need answered: If installing on the speed control side of the steering wheel, does it alter the speed of the autopilot setting? If installed on the volume side of the steering wheel, will it change the volume of the music being played? I’m both cases, it seems it would. I’m not a fan of music changing volume nor am I fan of my speed constantly shifting.
it doesn't affect volume or speed because it's in microseconds. e.g. If the speed is set at 75 mph, the goes up to 76 and then 75 so superquick that it doesn't even register on the monitor and it just says 75.
@@teslamods wonderful. Glad I put an order in last night.
This also works on the refreshed model S?
Tesla will find a workaround for your module, because people will misuse it and be stupid just like the steering wheel weight and because NHTSA will have to get involved with your module at some point. You are not helping on the long-run, because of "hacks" like yours, there will be delays at some point with software updates, because Tesla will be forced to address your module as high priority.
you're right. NHTSA will force Tesla to undo the hack (I could think of several ways), and there will always be engineers like us to find another way.
Thanks for this video
Is there a guide or manual that comes with the module? Why don’t I see the volume going up and down in the Tesla in the video, isn’t that how it gets around the nag?
it goes up and down so superquick that it doesn't even register on the monitor
@@teslamodsabsolutely incredible, I just ordered mine I am so so excited. I am on FSD 11.4.9, so it should eliminate all nags correct? Because sometimes there is red hands nag that requires you to physically pull the wheel, this won’t fix that correct?
If you don't want to drive your car yourself, how about taking the bus instead of disabling safety features :^) Or are you the type of person to remove the ABS from a car because you don't like the vibrations?
I don't think you fully understand what all of this is about... Tesla autopilot is perfectly safe and a great way to be more comfortable and relaxed during long highway trips, so long as you're paying attention. What the "safety" update did honestly IMO makes autopilot LESS safe. It's so quick to boot you out of autopilot that it sometimes result in inadvertent juking within the lane. Like he said, a bunch of idiots abusing it made it so that Tesla was forced to downgrade it into a more stressful, arguably less safe feature
@@stephenpatterson8056 🎶 If you don't care to drive yourself, take the bus~🎶
There's always a Karen in the comments
The autopilot feature, priced at $12,000, is expected to deliver on its intended functionality and fulfill Tesla's commitments made seven years ago. Requiring frequent steering wheel contact, even when hands are already on it, undermines safety. It appears Tesla is enforcing this measure primarily for legal protection.
@jaynedcorp My fiancée has a model 3 and discovered you can just manipulate the volume wheel and that counts as "steering feedback" lol. But yeah definitely Tesla covering themselves because a number of idiots are literally sleeping at the wheel, getting into wrecks, and then trying to blame the car
This will make your insurance company super happy in case of serious crash. They won't have to pay you a single cent as you intentionally altered safety feature.
The nag doesn't make it safer for normal drivers that aren't doing anything crazy in the first place. It just distracts your attention to the screen so it's more dangerous. It just forces you to confirm that you're paying attention but the interior camera should be good enough for that. I wouldn't mess with the hardware though either.
@@JosephHowes2003 Insurance company won't care, you altered it. No money for you.
@@Rachsuchtigonly if yoi were using auto pilot at the time of the incident
I have basic insurance soooo 😅
@@janmarcel It applies to basic insurance as well. If you damage property of someone else, or kill someone else in accident, you will have to pay from your own pocket if they find out the car's safety systems have been tampered with. And the burden of proof will be on you if you will want to prove that the device did not compromise safety.
