1982...Off I skipped to the local computer store, I had waited weeks for it to come back in stock. The dreams I had swirling in my head, the magazines i had poured over just fired my imagination even more. I taught myself BASIC and that was the start of a career that spanned 36 years in various IT roles. The games were all we talked about as boys waiting for the school bus, very very happy memories of the ZX Spectrum. Thank you Sir Clive

How lucky we were to have been born at exactly the right place at exactly the right time. Glorious days. Good to see MD flying the flag of MM on behalf of MS. Really looking forward to the new Sam MM next month. The gameplay is still gold although for mortals pokes are essential.

Looking forward to this. I wasn't a massive fan of the original but the next version looks awesome. Great colourful graphics, speed of the game looks perfect and love the little details in the backgrounds. Music and sound effects seem spot on also. Yep, generally looking forward to playing this. Awesome Job

I so disapointed when i download it i happy that i did not buy it to ds since i thought it would have music through the stages like on the commodore 64 -_-

I remember this game from the good old C64 days. Got to try this version later on and maybe finish it this time.

I loved this back in the day. Only upon this viewing have I noticed how in debt to Salamander it was! That first level in particular.

It plays fine, once you have adjusted to the hinge area. Sadly, there is not a lot I could do there - but, you do get used to it!

I remember playing this game for 6 hours straight when i was about 14. I was so addicted to it, that at one point it made me trip out and hallucinate a bit. I totally ignored all the warnings about taking a regular break. Good times!

@RetroBytesPortal "Fucked Up" it`s to harsh. But I think the music too technooriented too. It sounds more like an horror-SciFi game but an classic detective tale. But the graphic looks nice. It keeps the atmosphere from the original.

@mickmog ´ You need a backup card like ACECARD II or such ro play on the real hardware. You can also play it on a emulator.

double posts like this can only give a negative rating, without you exsplain why. Of course this is remake and did not have very much music in the original, so I added some of my own bits to this game. The guitar riff that the end diddent work at all with this style of music, so I need to remove that. PS. Music in the game use XM format, while this was the mp3 version.

Downloaded the current version of this game a few days ago, and I have to say... DAYMN! I'm impressed, this game is very fun, and HARD! (which is what SHMUPS should be) Props to you guys man!

This C64 game is brilliant. This is the only game I know in which the sattelites for the shuttle consisted of CHARS (from a charset), which where able to shoot themselves. There is a 2-player mode (one player steers a red & the other one green shuttle). To activate move the joystick to the right before you start the game & a second score will appear. You can power up your friend's shuttle & have a mega shot. The disk version was faulty, but some hackers fixed it finally: REMEMBER C64 google it
