A quick check on how we are feeling XC after our mixed bag at Howick and run up to Dauntsey! Also a full treat of Andy, my non horsey Fiancé, turns commentator of our dressage test! That is something not to be missed!

We won a competition on Instagram! What did we think of the session? Did I hold my nerves, go back to Howick and jump the Novice fences??

We toddled off down to Howick as it has historically been quite a soft course.... Then I heard Badminton course builder Eric Winter had been brought in to redesign it!! It was technical and sizeable.... Normal Howick on steroids! Fingers crossed there was no potato riding on this outing!

Oh the left shoulder shuffle. He was determined to dodge out and well ridden for keeping him positive for each fence.
@@egeegee7146 I like that! The left shoulder shuffle!! I can safely say I was puffing like a train by the time I had finished!! 😂
Although he needed encouragement, he didn't stop or run out. Here's to many more cross country courses in the future.
@kippen64 Nope, he is super honest and genuine in that sense, if I ask him to go, then 9 times out of 10 he trusts me enough to go! It's only when he is really uncomfortable or on an impossible stride that he doesn't! 🙈 for which we pat him because he is right! ♥️

Great commentary. Congratulations on winning. I dread to think what the commentary would be like on any test I did. Stuff like 'he's still inside the white boards' or 'he hasn't bucked her off' or worse 'oh dear, the judge has gotten out of their car and have suggested that she stops trying to ride the test'.

Up on your minute markers on a BE100 course is a nice problem to have. Especially when you were worried about the size of the jumps prior to riding the course.

I find that the pace for 100 is just a bit too slow. Your horse covers a hella ground in a stride and you're just in your rhythm which is pretty normal as these horses become proficient enough to run 100 courses. Novice will suit way better !
I need to really find some brave pants if I am going to step up to Novice, but it is an aim of mine! Thank you!

New here. I think you both did fab esp considering you were unwell. Easy to say as an observer; but try not to be to harsh on yourself. You successfully went out, pushed through, and had a great learning session with one fantastic looking horse!! Get some rest, get better, stay motivated and you will 100% get your qualifiers!! ☺️

😂 I hate to say it, they never grow out of that! Apollo puts his bum in your face to get scratches and he is 18!!

Going to set this up. Any tips?
Probably two, keep the canter powerful but not long, and don't expect it to go right at first!! It took me ages to get canter poles on a curve! 🙈 let me know how you get on! 🙌🏻

I didn't actually measure a distance, went through it a few times to see what canter I needed, so it was a bit trial and error!
