Diggins on seuraava dominoiva, Johaugin jälkeen, maailmanmestaruus kympillä, ja nyt Jellivaarassa reilu voitto. USAn on Diggins nostanut ihan piikkiin, vieläpä hymyilevä ihana idoli, jota on helppo fanittaa, nainen on ihan ykkönen, eikä pidä meteliä itsestään.

Rules for overtaking. I think section 343.10.2 and 343.11 below applies. Maki's line from the apex of the turn to the outside lane was straight. Bolshunov had no right to expect him to change that path. When Maki chose the outside lane, it was his and his alone. In Classic technique you might argue that there's enough room in a lane for two racers, but for freestyle, clipping of skis or poles is likely to occur. This particular course had a fairly short finishing straight so whoever makes that final turn first has a big advantage. Bolshunov should have known this and should have passed Maki before that turn if he was able to. He was very content to let Maki pull him along up to that point, but shouldn't have expected Maki to move out of his way in the final stretch. 343.10 Overtaking 343.10.1 During an Interval Start competition competitors who are being overtaken must give way on the first demand. This applies in classical technique courses even when there are two tracks and in free technique courses when the skier being overtaken may have to restrict his/her skating action. 343.10.2 For all other competitions, when overtaking occurs, competitors must not cause any obstruction. The responsibility for a correct passing without obstruction is on the overtaking skier. The overtaking skier must have his/her skis in front of the skis of the overtaken skier before skiing his/her best line. 343.11 In sections with marked corridors, the competitors should choose a corridor. Competitors are allowed to leave the chosen corridor as long as ICR 343.9 is upheld. For those who keep arguing that the leader through the last turn should take the inside lane "because it's the shortest distance" I did some checking of actual results this year. I left out races where there is a very long finishing straight (Tour De Ski) and where the winner was not the first person through the last turn (Norwegian championships). For this test we designate "Lane 1" as the inside lane that racers "should" take. So we should expect "smart" racers to more often win in lane 1. Results of men's and women's sprint races. Dresden: Pelligrino lane 2, Faehndrich lane 2 Ruka: Valnes lane 2, Svahn lane 2 Lygna: Klaebo lane 2, Svendsen lane 2 Davos: Pelligrino Lane 3, Brennan Lane 3 Val Mustair: Svahn lane 3 Using the "first person through the last turn" scenario, I could not find one race where the winner was in lane 1. So for all you smart guys out there who think racers should be finishing in lane 1 when they round that last turn in the lead, why do you think the do NOT choose lane 1? Are these racers stupid for not following your advice? Maki chose lane 3, just like Pelligrono, Brennan, and Svahn. Bolshunov should have cut to the inside as soon as he saw Maki moving away from lane 1. If Maki then changed his direction to block, that would have been a foul. Maki just kept going toward lane 3 and smartly squeezed off Bolshonov who was trying to force his way through on the outside. Bolshunov is a great talent, but needs to use smarter racing tactics.
