Before the show was nationally syndicated as "Live! With Regis & Kathie Lee," it was "The Morning Show." Debbie presents Regis with a gift.

MTV's "Awake on the Wild Side" with John Norris November, 1990 *Interview only (AIP video has been taken out for upload)
I had such a a crush when I was 16. God. The only girl I liked. But she made me fool my friends cuz I was actually gay but I liked her. They never caught on
This wouldve been January 88...
This was before "Foolish Beat" was released & hit #1. She was already plotting her 2nd #1 hit. 😎
Debbie is great here, but this piano sucks. 😒
Hey there! Your copy of the 1st Annual Kids' Choice Awards... Is it a full copy of the show or only Debbie Gibson segments?
I had the full video up for a while, but YT blocked it, so only the pieces with Deb are available.
It's always a pleasure to see Debbie Gibson on MTV and all her television talk shows she appeared on 😊❤️
sounds funny
Haven’t heard Lost in your Eyes for years! Just a wonderful tune!
Ela canta muito ate sen o nicrofone e no ormal ela canta muito
My crush for the rest of my life ❤❤❤❤
Debbie gibson interwiewed on MTV 33 years old.
Miss Debbie gibson apresented on the aisle
The perfect musical
I really love her voice back then.
That’s John Norris, not Kurt Loder..
OMG; I can't believe I did that (and that no one else has made this comment). Fixing! Thank you!

My mouth dropped when she started playing her number one hit for the first time on their show!! Wow, I love that song, always have.
Cool.
Working 8-3 now.. whatever???
Big teenaged crush right there. The first album I spent my own money on and still my favorite.
John Mayer too said that Debbie Gibson's Out of the Blue was the 1st album that he bought with his own money.
@@nori2598 She still rocks it.
According to Billboard's tracking of song sales/ airplay Lost in Your Eyes ranked 13th for its year 1989. It's a rather number ~430 on the all time chart (1958 to present) .
430 out of what?
She should've pinned her lavalier mic a little higher on her sweater or at least had a microphone at the piano. Her drummer died young. It was sad.
I think the electric piano was triggering a hard limiter that also muted her singing.
As a sixteen-year-old I could very easily get lost in her eyes. She's very warm with people.
Debbie Gibson is the most beautiful musician that i've ever seen.
Her voice is amazing too omg
And... Lost in Your Eyes became a huge global hit and a classic 80s pop culture song
LET'S not exaggerate. According to Billboard's tracking of song sales/ impressions Lost in Your Eyes only ranked 13th for its year 1989. It's a rather low number 430 on the all time chart (1958 to present) .
@@electrictroy2010 13 out of 100!!! Yes it was a hit and it was number 1 for 3 weeks
Lost in your eyes, in the bigger hit on miss Debbie gibson.
@@electrictroy2010 You must be pretty young, in 1989 Debbie was as much of a household name as Michael Jackson. Keep in mind there was no internet. No fake social media celebs. VERY few people were recognizable.
Fond Memories 😘😘😘
she was wise beyond her years. songwriting and on top of that, writing number one hits. not to mention a stellar voice.

They had no idea that what they were listening to at the end, would become one of the biggest singles ever.

@@electrictroy2010 I was referring to it becoming one of HER biggest singles ever, but you just made me aware that it was indeed one of the biggest singles EVER in all of music since 1958. Considering that there are 75,000,000 songs on Spotify, and conservatively, about 1,000,000 songs are released JUST in the US annually, and you are stating that it is #430 on the All Time List? 430 out of MILLIONS of songs?? Holy sh#t, it IS one of the biggest singles EVER! Thanks man!
Lost in your Eyes may be on top 430 in billboard but she is probably included in the Top 10 most BEAUTIFUL singers since 1958.😍
@@nori2598 I still to this day watch her 1988 Pittsburgh Concert. Think she was only 18 at the time. Her voice was stellar the entire concert and she exuded so much free joy and happiness, especially in the more upbeat songs, legendary!
@@TamTranTriZzle Yes. Debbie Gibson is one of a kind.
Thank you for posting this and Debbie Gibson was a great singer
Great video! And she plays Lost in your eyes for the first time!!! Thanks for sharing
I agree
Fender Rhodes were the worse.
The early seventies actual 'Fender/Rhodes' were legendary. The later 'Rhodes' (like the one here) were cheaper in construction and sound quality. ruclips.net/video/RD1nBPRZc-I/видео.html
Debbie is so adorable! ❤
I agree with you
Do you have the full 1988 kids choice awards please tell me!
I believe I have the full show.

I watched the show when I took off of school.
awesome David Banner
How cool this was before lost in your eyes was her number one
yep
Foolish Beat hit #1 first
I see this as a piece of pop culture history in several respects. It also goes to show that she has always been very sweet, really pretty, extremely smart, and extraordinarily talented. Thanks for posting for all of us to enjoy!
me to Reacon39
Thanks! I love it. She is always so beautiful 🤩
me to TMG
Thank you for posting this. Ah to be 18 again. She was the epitome of American youth.
I so agree with you
Shame the performance sound is distorted.
I agree
Lost In Your Eyes when it still to new to herself...pretty awesome
Yes it is awesome Eric Spinger
Nice way to look at it👍💯
@@tzasin7122 definitely
Was that in 1987 or 88?
Early 1988 when "Out of the Blue" was her then recent hit single
@@ThePuffinTop that makes since if OOB was released it would be getting ready to be charting in 1988

Wow I have never seen this before. THANKS.

The Amish? Kathy Lee probably wasn't familiar with Boy George 5:00 "Out of the Blue" on piano 7:10 perhaps the first time she performed "Lost In Your Eyes"
And just think FB wasn't even released yet as single and her singing LIYE here was a year before its time.
Rare MTV "Anything Is Possible" era footage of Deb, which the title track was also played on the dance show "Club MTV"." Unfortunately it appears that "Anything Is Possible" was the only video given airplay since rest of the singles were either ignored or given very little airplay (I recalled seeing "This So-Called Miracle" with an MTV2 logo) Also interesting seeing John Norris as a regular MTV VJ since he's usually known for MTV News.
I didn't realize there were any videos after AIP. It felt like by the end of the Electric Youth run MTV had already blacklisted her. I don't remember seeing the video for "We Could Be Together" even once.
@@dpurves28 "We Could Be Together" wasn't shown on MTV (only on TBS "Night Tracks"). By late 1989, it appeared MTV was favoring more older/edgier pop stars such as Paula Abdul, Madonna, MJ, hard rock/glam metal (Aerosmith, Guns N' Roses, Bon Jovi), then later the then emerging alternative and rap music scenes. Especially that "Lost In Your Eyes" was placed very low at #93 on MTV's Top 100 of 1989 countdown despite being a Billboard #1 hit for three weeks and only "Electric Youth" was nominated for a VMA, for best Art Direction. Then again, that network have been nothing but reality shows and syndicated movies/sitcoms for the past few decades. Starting with "The Real World" in 1992, which is when the network jumped the shark. I've always thought Deb had potential to crossover to the adult contemporary charts/VH1 with her ballads ("Foolish Beat" and "Lost In Your Eyes" both were Billboard #1 hits), but for some reason teen artists weren't taken seriously in regards of talent at the time and only few had been successful as adults. (Michael Jackson and George Michael)
@@dpurves28 why was she blacklisted
