Both are cool cars. The Crown is an all-in-one affordable sedan. The GT-R is a beast with insane performance but it's more of a weekend car. If you have the $$, get both 😁; otherwise, the Crown definitely won't disappoint you when considering value for money.

Cvt’s prioritise efficiency but a good exhaust will definitely improve the throttle response. I think for enthusiasts, it’s not always about performance but the looks and how it sounds ☺️

@jero358 no, this one came with the car. The aftermarket parts were the bodykit, rims and coil overs. Unfortunately, I sold this car. I’ve got a hybrid on the way, will do a detailed video on that.

@letmereviewit Wow, that’s a long list. These maintenance issues is the main reason I feel reluctant with European. I think better stick to low kms and good maintenance history for all European.

Yes, I agree. They don’t disappoint with the design and performance. Honestly, since we generally buy used cars making sure we get right ones is always a challenge. The other nightmare would be the cost involved with fixing. Hence, my vote towards reliability is a bit low as I am still not confident using one for a longer period.

Both the GRS204 and GWS204 have heated, cooling and reclining rear seats. The main differences are the gearbox, boot space, and fuel efficiency(a very minor difference in efficiency). The GWS204 (hybrid) uses a CVT for better efficiency and has slightly better fuel economy while the GRS204 has a regular automatic. The hybrid's battery also takes up some boot space.

@popsiblebike21 No, the rear seats in the GWS/GRS 204 do not fold down. However, I think the car does have a ski pass-through in the middle seat, which can accommodate long items like a fishing rod. I’ll check this and get back to you.

In general the S trim is more sport-oriented with a focus on performance, while the G trim leans towards luxury and comfort. Personally I prefer the G for features like soft-closing doors and the 360-degree camera. FYI: The white GRS214 on my channel is the S variant.

@@goingproau Yep I used the cheapest Starline A93 on my JZS171 Athlete V. I've just bought the kit and a GSM module for it.))) Also my former boss used A93 model for his RHD Prado (was also imported by myself from Japan). Moreover, one of my friends used a Pandora Pandect on his GRS 184.

The fuel efficiency isn’t as great as you'd expect considering it's a hybrid. Plus, I’m not a big fan of the CVT gearbox compared to the 6-speed automatic on the GRS204. Do you find a big difference in performance and comfort too?

Hey mate, For the newer models, you can change the language via the settings. Unfortunately, the navigation system in JDM vehicles is configured for Japan so it won't support Australian maps by default. The best option would be to install Apple CarPlay.

@beesa888 No worries mate. Unfortunately it does not come with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto by default. These features weren't integrated into the Crown's infotainment system until more recent models. I reckon the cost for the apple carplay upgrade is typically around 600-700 AUD.
