It’s always a great day cycling in Wombat State Forest.
Headed off from Greendale towards Paradise Track, then onto main forest roads north to Bullarto Reservoir and Lyonville Mineral Springs.
Back to Greendale via Blackwood and more gravel roads.
Awesome ride!

Another epic adventure Mark. You have certainly kept the spirit of Team Chaos alive with your adventures.
@@philb2439 thanks for watching, mate.
Legendary stuff. 👏
@tomcat7525 thanks, mate. Glad you enjoyed it.
Bought back memories. Enjoyed it thank you 😊
@walkingtwobytwo7122 thanks for taking the time to have a look. I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
Pea gravel is the devil 😅
@MDSTFT like riding on a carpet of ball bearings!
Looks like another epic adventure Mark. Well done.
Well done Mark. Looks like a fun ride, despite the wind.
@LittleRedRoosterADV It's a great route. I'll definitely be back there!
Maybe a silly question, but did you have many pictures or damaged tyres?
@Geoff-m7j Fair question. No flats. No tyre damage. My derailleur needed straightening in Omeo. My buddy's brake fluid ran dry, also fixed in Omeo.
pretty good vid showing some of the realities (and challenges you don't often see) of backpacking
great video - Im locking in 2024 Hunt , so this is a nice reality check
@timident I reckon allowing yourself enough time is key. I'm an average rider at best, and I finished. Much stronger riders pulled out because they didn't allow enough time. If things go wrong, it is a very hard course to make up time on.
I think this video has convinced me not to do the hunt 😂
It's definitely a tough ride... I must be crazy because I'd do it again!
I stumbled across this event in Dargo in 2019 just before riders headed UP Billy Goats over to Licola. I was blown away then by what they were doing. This video really conveys just how hard it is. Excellent job
Thanks. I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
Some beautiful scenery. I want to do the Hunt 1000
There are some pretty special landscapes along the route 😀.
Nice work Mark. I was among the last to not take the detour ("Dick" on Mapprogress), and as mentioned, the crossings were pretty wild! I always say I should do more documenting of my trips, but, you know.. So thanks for taking the time to share this with us.
Thanks, mate.
Well ahoy hoy🦘 just found this vid on a couple of zero days at Echuca VIC (1670ks so far) really enjoyed this, you guys are machines, makes a mockery of my little and often lol, really looking forward to watching in full at a future date. With gratitude and appreciation P.T trying 🦘☮️🦘
Thanks, mate. I hope you enjoy the series.
All the best with your trip, too.
Epic series, really enjoyed watching these.
Thanks for watching the videos. Glad you enjoyed them.
thx fpr sharing :)
Thanks for watching 😀
kay lawak ng asyenda mo Sis Sueno.. ang fresh ng hangin at tahimik salugat mo noh.. malayo sa ingay.
Thanks for watching. Yes, the route was very isolated at times.
Fantastic series Mark! Blown away by the fact that yourself and the other riders were able to achieve what you did and complete The Hunt in those conditions, and then you also managed to still film so much amazing footage along the way! Well done mate 👏👏
Thanks, mate. I'm blown away by the level of interest in the series. No doubt it was a difficult route but I thoroughly enjoyed it
My only criticism is that it was the last one in the series. I really enjoyed these and thanks for sharing. Your videos have motivated me to revisit my bike packing project and finish setting things up that I abandoned almost two years ago. I’m now just about ready for my first adventure. Thanks.
Thanks, mate. I really enjoyed putting it together and I'm glad that you enjoyed it. All the best for your project and adventures 👍
Any chance you can share your strava ? Would love to see the detailed maps of some of these sectors.
No worries. Here's a link to day 1, you can follow along from there. If you want to read trip notes and see pics just scroll back through my FB feed. strava.app.link/QwydyJpXnGb
Well Done Mark and the man from Seattle
Thanks, Pete!
Excellent video Mark, love the commentary and I’m quite jealous of your ride. Loving it.
Thanks, Stu. 👍
Thanks, Stu! Glad you're enjoying the series :)
Great video Mark! Really looking forward to watching your series on The Hunt. 👏👏
Thanks, Greg. Appreciate you taking the time to watch the series. I hope you enjoy it.
Fly net mandatory.
Looking forward to seeing this series through. For us mere mortals its great to get a birds eye view of whats involved and how some of the condition compare to some of the forest trails need me.
Thanks for your interest, mate. I hope you enjoy the series. It was a great ride, and I enjoyed putting the video together.
Looks Awesome - can't wait
Wow, that brings back some great memories, I cycled it last year :-) Thanks for sharing your ride 🙂
Pretty accurate depiction of that track when I rode it end of Feb! Took us 6 hours, averaging 7.5kph. Highly inhospitable country, glad to have done it but won’t be rushing back
Hey Nic, I actually had a great day, but I won't be rushing back either... not without wider tyres, anyway!
Nice work!
Thanks, Harry.
