I have loved this song since I was kid back in the 60s. I still love it today. But dang I have always had so much trouble trying to figure that bass drum pattern. But this video was an eye opener!! Over the years I have tried and tried to play it as good as you on my drums...but no luck. Now, since I see the pattern I am going to work hard to emulate it. Man, this is like finding gold! Thank you brother for posting this video, and by the way you did the whole song absolute justice. Rock On!

Nylon tips bring out the ride patterns better. I find sliding my foot back a little on the bass pedal makes it easier to stomp and get a bigger bass note groove.

Nice cover. You know traditional grip was developed by marching drummers, in the case of right handers, because the drum hung on their right leg making matched grip of the left hand a little awkward. Saw these guys in Oakland. Eddie Money, Sammy Hagar played first.
