      @RichardBluitt-j2k - The 2018 was a refresh year for the Grand Cherokee, so it had a new grill and new rear end treatment, but I believe fundamentally it is the same vehicle underneath as the 2017 models, so I don't see why it would be an issue at all.

      Hmmm, that sounds odd. I wonder if they had a batch that were wired up backwards from the factory. The lights are all the same, I wonder in you unscrewed them from the back if there is enough wiring to change the order of the actual lights. That would solve your problem. You shouldn’t have to do that, but it ‘may’ sort the issue. Sorry to hear that you are having issues with them.

    Perfect video. Thank you very much for this. As others mentioned, you may as well buy a pack of plastic fasteners when you buy the part because, inevitably, you're going to need some new ones. Also, oddly enough, my check engine light didn't go off for like 24+ hours/~200 miles of travel and 6-8 stops (power on and off). Basically, half of a road trip, parked the car for the night and the light was on, woke up in the morning and it was off - super strange but it did take longer than the 25-30 miles that most mentioned below.

      @meldh2008 - I haven't experienced that, but if you are concerned you could put some electrical tape either over the clip or over the opening of the hole. Either way will help protect any paint if you are nervous. You could also change out for a nylon clip if you wanted to, they are cheap and readily available on Amazon. Anyone got experience doing this install with the hard top? I’m wonder if the dome light part is going to be rough as you can’t really get your hand up and over with the ceiling there.

    • @CUPRADESIGN
      @CUPRADESIGN 26 дней назад

      The access shouldn't really be all that different, as long as you can slide your hand in there. Admittedly, we have a soft top, but I've installed these lights with the soft top on, and the soft top off as far as the back panel goes. As for adding the lights in the front area, you'll be able to remove your front and center hard top panels if need be, or you can still access them from within, with the panels on. It's not difficult at all.

    Question for yah, maybe it’s pretty obvious but just wanna double check. I want these dome lights for the Bronco but I don’t care to spend the extra $ updating the rear cargo dome light, personally I don’t need more light back there and I think the 4 new domes will be more than enough light even when opening the back with the stock light. Is the installation the same if working with the stock rear cargo dome light? There’s enough room for the connector or relay or whatever it’s called to put inside?

    • @CUPRADESIGN
      @CUPRADESIGN 26 дней назад

      @forgivemylaughter - Absolutely, you do NOT have to have a new rear cargo light for these to work, you can plug them into the OEM light back there and they will work just fine as well. At the 1:50 mark in the video I show just that, I plug the new Mabett dome lights into the OEM light, and then I also show it with the upgraded Mabett dome light. It works just fine with the OEM one. Plenty of room for the connector and to be able to set it up how you need to. Hope that helps! Good luck and thanks for watching!

    I’ve seen videos that state I need to use Forscan or bypass the systems amp and add my own to improve sound. I have the B&O system and rear speakers have very little signal or sound. Will adding just speakers help. I’ve been seeing conflicting info

    • @CUPRADESIGN
      @CUPRADESIGN 28 дней назад

      @TinboatTom4528 - If you have the non-B&O system, yes, you need to use ForScan to unlock the best sound from the speakers. If you have the B&O system (you mentioned that's the one you have) then changing things in ForScan doesn't make a difference (from what I have read). With that being said, having upgraded the speakers and the pods on our B&O system, there was a noticeable difference in sound. You can actually hear the rear speakers now and differentiate between them a lot better. You can hear a lot better at a lower volume, and you do get a decent bump in bass as well. I hope that helps and thanks so much for watching, I appreciate it!

      @brianhumphrey8494 - I believe that there is a harness that you can purchase, based on a comment I've received previously, but I am not sure of the details of that harness unfortunately.

    FYI. I had to use the other factory bolt on the front otherwise the diagonal bungee cord is in the way of my handles for the soft top. Works perfect after that change. I also wrapped those metal hooks in electric tap. Seems like they could really scratch the paint. This might be the first time I actually would rather have had plastic. 😆 Anyway, the video was helpful. Thanks

    What if you don't have any codes on the dash

    • @CUPRADESIGN
      @CUPRADESIGN Месяц назад

      @bo5388 - There won't be a code displayed on your dash. The only thing on the dash that would alert you is if you have a check engine light (CEL - Orange Engine Symbol) showing. If that is the case, then you'll either want to grab a code reader (they can be had for cheap: amzn.to/3XEmhI6) or you can go to Autozone and they will read the codes for you and tell you what the code is. If it is a (P0456 code) then you will have an issue with your EVAP system. Now that can occur in 3 places too. The ESIM module, as in this video, at the Purge Valve on top of the engine, and then also the Purge Valve Hose, which runs from the Purge Valve down the back of the engine towards the ESIM module. Hope that helps.

    I change the battery,but the A! LIGHT STILL ON? HOW I TURN OFF

    • @CUPRADESIGN
      @CUPRADESIGN Месяц назад

      @oscarnadal1223 - When you replaced the battery, did you remove and reconnect the terminals in the same order as I showed? You need to make sure on the MAIN battery (not the AUX) that the controller module is attached (you'll see it on the negative terminal, it's like a 2" black box). If that is not connected properly, you will still get the 'A' symbol on the dash - leaving that disconnected is the cheat way to get around the 'A' system, but leaves the symbol on the dash. Also - there is a button on the dash, down low in the center that turns on and off the auto start stop, you may need to press that a couple of times to get the system to sync back up. Outside of that, you may have an issue that is still causing that to happen. Good luck.

    What do you do if you already have a factory fog lights on standard bumper. I’m going to replace the standard bumper with modular and planning to use the same wiring from fog lights I already got. If there any way I can achieve it?

    • @CUPRADESIGN
      @CUPRADESIGN 2 месяца назад

      You may have to purchase some connectors to go from these fog lights to the OEM fog light connector. I don't think there is a plug and play harness that will do that, so you may have to wire them up yourself. Alternatively, you can cut off the OEM connector and the connector for the fog lights and splice them together, but that is totally your choice to do that. The alternative, if you have them, is to forego the fog switch and hook them up to an AUX switch and leave your fog light switch intact. That is how I have the fog lights installed that remain in our Bronco (the Oracle Lighting Triple LED fog lights in an earlier video). I've not had this experience, a) having the modular bumper from the factory and b) not having the OEM fog light switch, so I can't speak confidently on how to make that connection. I don't know if this helps, but good luck!
