HOW the Shock Dyno numbers are generated | Part 2
What are some good “go-to” adjustments that you like to do as the night goes on? Examples like Wing angle, air pressure, shock adjustment etc. I know it really depends on the track that night but common adjustments I guess would be a better way to ask.
How do you decide what torsion bars or coils you’re going to start with at a track? Do you use the same base at each track and change from there or is it track by track? Is it more dependent on track size or more on how wet or slick the track is?
What changes would you need to make to a shock when going per say a 1000 in the RR to a 975 in the RR of a winged 360 or do you not need to change the shock?
I could be totally wrong, but from what i know, your bars determine how much weight goes to each corner, your sock determines how fast it comes and goes to that corner. So if you need to change when it gets to the corner, change the shock, if you have to much in a corner change a bar
I’ve recently started running a winged sprint car and I’ve seen some people use the compression and rebound of a shock in pounds like on the dyno sheet. While others use the shock number like a 5/6 for 5 compression and 6 rebound. How do the pounds correlate to the shock number?
Different shock mfg use different poundage for their valving numbers. Better off using poundage than the old school way of numbering.
@@lespaul1427thank you
Hello, "CSI Shocks" I was analyzing your channel and saw that in your channel have some problem, That's why your channel is not much growing and not getting much engagement, If you can solve these problems, Your channel will grow like a storm. If you tell I can tell these problems. Where can I tell? Here or email?
What causes a gurgling sound when extending or compressing a shock? I have had some new and used shocks that do it.
Definitely do a micro build/square video!
i have a question.why are you considering just 3 in/sec?
Your videos are Awsome! Great info, thanks
Thanks
Have a elite dirt modified I am thinking about using a blue Penske Blue stop with a 1 inch cup what is your appenion on RF
We used lead right side 1/2 in long make turn and off corner speed
I can get the same ratio if I run a 36/33 or 24/22. Is there an advantage to bigger over smaller sprockets
How long does a torsion bar last? How many shows
Дурная голова рукам покоя не даёт
Finally someone talking 0 numbers, thank you it drives me crazy people talking 1, 3 etc. 0 dictates how every other number functions.
I hope they win one
I did not pickup what you changed, between the first portion where the helper went into bind. Then when the helper remained mostly uncompressed. What did you change to alter how the helper spring interacted that way? The helper and main spring setup, what is the belief/idea behind that?
Great Information!
Where did you find the studs you used to replace bolts for easier alignment when replacing parts?
When you say when some tracks are polished really well.... are you talking about like a dry slick condition or are you talking about when the track has turned black
How to come last place
Can you use that like a spring smasher? Are sprint car people using load sticks like the late model and mod guys are?
It is different than a spring smasher, sprint car guys aren't using load sticks yet.
@csishocks977 It's just easy to block it I guess, would be interesting to see load numbers of a bar than say put a couple turns on a soft bar and see difference.
The volume level of your intro is at a normal level, I actually had to turn my laptop down when it was playing. But when your talking its very quiet and I had my volume to the max to be able to hear you. Love these videos!
I’m wondering what the performance is once you have reground the tyre like that? Is it worth doing for anything other than “kid karts”?
There is nothing like a new tire, but this will defiantly put some life back in any tire.
How often do you need to rebuild?
20-25 races
I'd fix that wiggle on the machine
It isn't the machine, that is how out of round some of the wheels are.
How do you determine the valving for racing
Based on the type of car and tracks you will be racing.
Audio started out terrible, but later in the video, it got to where it was working correctly
Thank you for the feedback. We have bought some better mics. We appreciate you watching.
sound is much better
Wisconsin. I’m about 15 min from the high banks of cedar lake speedway
What is the second machine you used to spin the tire?
Larry Jones variable speed machine
Holy hell this is such a good video 🤣 it feels so weird watching younger kids racing professionally. Great team, great vibes, and he made some good moves. I'm not an american and I've never heard about .25 midgets until i watched a video where kyle busch mentioned that his son gonna race .25 few years ago on Dale Jr. Podcast. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for watching!
I want to this so badly. Sadly 4000-5000 dollars is. A LITTLE much for a 13 year old
How do I take the dyno numbers and convert them to the shock numbers ... Like a 2/4 or a 3/3 shock?
Check out this chart on our website csishocks.com/content/Resources/Technical%20Data/Generic%20Valving.pdf
I race those but I went there in 2023. Its called Nascar Youth Series now and I did not run the class he runs. You see there is Jr, Sr, and heavy, Hudson is in jr and Im in Sr. I have met him before. He even came to my home track once.
Can you help me understand what they mean when you say the shock is dyno 10” per sec? When the shock doesn’t move 10”? Thanks
10 inches per second in velocity, not displacement. In our core markets the shock will only move 2-3 inches of displacement in most applications but up to 20 inches per second in velocity on a rough track.
Hey, I'm installing my tires to the rear rims and almost at 100psi. Still not wanting to seat yet.
Are you using a tire band to get them on the wheel? If not your asking to get hurt at that kind of pressure.
@@josephhardwick6910 no tire band. I definitely tested there strength that's forsure. After several attempts at 100psi plus a little WD40 on the bead still nothing. But when I put them in our oven at 200deg, they finally seated perfectly at that psi and temp for an 1.5 hours.
@@spekky9012 glad you where able to get them seated but I'd definitely try to find a tire band or become friends with someone who has one before attempting any more. They can definitely hurt you or even worse. Be safe
A tire band a little bit of soapy water helps a lot. Make sure you have the valve core out so you can get as much air in the tire as quickly as possible.
@@spekky9012 I could never bead with wd-40, get some of the vegetable based goopy stuff
This only matters for kid kart tires. If you are not replacing tires every other race at best you are slow
We have won plenty of local and regional races with 5 and 6 race old tires. You defiantly want to be on fresher tires for a National level event.
And that's exactly why guys like me have one of every kind of Race car in the shop but can't afford to Race them ...
Why is this the first comment?😮
Don’t ask why this the first commet
Prepared going to the race track..spitting out gold bars!
Cant wait for talladega!
I’ve noticed some oil come out of the bleed screw after installing on the car while is sat in the trailer. How tight should that screw be tightened (hand tight, snug, very tight, etc.)? How does that missing oil impact the shock?
Do you only get one race out of a set of tires?
From what I learned, dirt track you get alot of races vs 3 or 4 than Asphalt racing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
@@anthonyreddy2834nope I ran a whole season with a single set for all my features we ran double shows too so but for my other races I used 2 sets 2 heats 1 feature a show so I mean I used each set 2 times a night my feature set we ran Krug green it was some of the best stuff I ever had but that set never took anything I might have used the same set into the next season and the other set was usually experimental because the green was expensive and hard to come by but I haven’t raced for a few years now
@@anthonyreddy2834sorry I didn’t mean to tag you on that but yes you can get lots of races on some sets it really depends on the races you are doing and the preps you’re using
No we run 5-6 heat cycles normally.
@csishocks977 are you counting cautions as a heat cycle?
What tire lathe is that and we’re can I find one
Larry Jones Motorsports
It's wobbling and out of balance
Might be a stupid question, but can’t you just put a body panel for a roof instead of relying on the net for safety? Or is it against the sanctioning body’s rules?
Not legal
what a gun, can't wait to see what he does in the future.
Yeah me too i think he might do nascar or indy in the future
Get ready for alot more views. Donut media just showed this jack.
What is the proper head clearance? Two inches from the back hoop?
