@cbacchus3475 thank you for your advisory this has now been corrected.
A lot of good information here. But why use fake teacher animations?
Hi Jorg, green screen technology was utilized in several of our videos years ago for immersivity and on screen animations. Fast track to today we shoot most of our video's in real time and on scene. You may review some of our latest video's by subscribing and reviewing some of Nathan Keith's tutorials. Don't forget to subscribe if you haven't yet.
Not only are RPAS pilots not obligated to broadcast their intentions, they are not required to have a ROC-A and often cannot legally broadcast anything on air band. It's fine for basic operations pilots that don't go in controlled airspace, but advanced operations pilots when in controlled airspace?
@Firstsurvivor this is correct however in some instances Nav Canada as well as airport management may advise RPAS pilots to broad cast their intentions via 2 way radio (in addition to cell phone requirements), depending on proximity to the runway. Note: The purpose of utilizing a ROC-A air-band radio is for deconfliction, communication and collision avoidance (when it is deemed necessary). Transport Canada is actively talking about making it a requirement to obtain a ROC-A certification alongside rpas certification requirements if operating in advanced airspace. The more tools you have in the toolset the safer you can operate. Given we currently do not have remote ID, radio broadcast when warranted will aide in further deconfliction/risk aversion for pilots.
@@suguworld Remote ID as implemented in the US has no objective of deconfliction, as it is incompatible with any currently used detect and avoid system used in aircraft. It is purely a LE tool, not an air safety tool, as proven by the pilot operator position requirement. That was noted amongst the comments from traditional aviation during the comment period, and was not addressed by any meaningful answer from the FAA. They also have not made any 'education' effort that was promised when answering comments about the safety of 'uncrewed' aerial vehicles' crew. RID as currently existing is not an answer to air congestion deconfliction or air safety. >Transport Canada is actively talking about making it a requirement to obtain a ROC-A certification alongside rpas certification requirements if operating in advanced airspace. I'm really curious about the source of this information. If it is not confidential, could you please share it? This was not amongst the proposed fee structure increase, and I would very much like to present comments if possible.
@@firstsurvivor7600 thank you for your response in order to understand UTM and the fundamentals of its foundation deconfliction, is one of the first of three layers in the overall conflict management model. This has been posited by NasA, The FAA and Air Bus in Unison with various research studies. Furthermore it has been stated numerous times in Canada remote ID will be coupled with UTM on rollout (semantics) www.suasnews.com/2021/06/airmarket-with-the-canadian-regulators-are-evaluating-technology-standards-and-operating-concepts-for-rpas-remote-id/ In short “deconfliction is a major function in UTM” and in the future traffic management services will be a highly automated digital incarnation in contrast to analogous human centric services provisioned by ATM and ATC today. Your Response: Remote ID as implemented in the US has no objective of deconfliction, as it is incompatible with any currently used detect and avoid system used in aircraft. It is purely a LE tool, not an air safety tool, as proven by the pilot operator position requirement. That was noted amongst the comments from traditional aviation during the comment period, and was not addressed by any meaningful answer from the FAA. My answer: Given it was not addressed by a meaningful answer, let me help with sources and links and please read my above response. I am saddened that the FAA didn’t provide clear insight or a meaningful answer. Sources and links: www.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/atoms/files/2020-rios-nasa-tm-20205006337-508_0.pdf In the NASA UTM concept, strategic deconfliction is the first layer of three in the overall conflict management model www.airbusutm.com/airspace-fairness Deconfliction is one of the most practical aspects of a UTM system where fairness is critical. www.linkedin.com/pulse/universal-deconfliction-model-utm-paul-pocialik Deconfiction is a major function in UTM and these traffic management services will be a highly automated digital service **Previous Answer of mine**: Transport Canada is actively talking about making it a requirement to obtain a ROC-A certification alongside rpas certification requirements if operating in advanced airspace. “Your question”: I'm really curious about the source of this information. If it is not confidential, could you please share it? This was not amongst the proposed fee structure increase, and I would very much like to present comments if possible. **My Answer**: As you are aware Transport Canada is homogenizing and creating guidelines for the eventual role out of standards next year . Without getting into details this is something you would have been privy to within your meetings. There is obviously a clear separation from the Part 9 regulations, from the standard aviation CARS PART 1-8, there are requirements for C and D airspace for a radio; one can only deduce the reasoning. Homogenizing the overall regs would seem to be a clear goal. Furthermore given the case study, it would only make sense to also make this a mandatory requirement until UTM is fully actualized. In short, until it works, don't reinvent the wheel. On a personal note: I believe radio communication will be a valuable tool in the initial phases and role out of UTM. Without it, it will be a recipe for disaster, and it will be technology being pushed too fast and too soon… we need an interim measure.
Was there any indication about where the operator was located in relation to the drone? I don’t believe the report mentioned anything about being beyond VLOS but I’m curious to know if this may have been a factor.
The report does not specifically mention it; but does infer it through the east-west flight trajectory of the rpas (crossing the runway centerline). As a side note, police do routinely fly EVLOS with visual observers and spotters (due to the nature of their work). The report hints to a break down of SOP's, training, and pilot decision-making. I am sure police stations across Canada including their training partners will be taking a hard look at their internal SOP's going forward.
Thank you for this info. I'm very upset that the tsb report and the news try to hint blame on the looking out of the Plain pilot and NOT THE POLICE DRONE Pilots that cleanly did Many things wrong.
Thank you for your reply, and we appreciate you viewing the above report. 17:55 - Note: The TSB report along with our statement does not hint blame of either party. It is more or less a finding; which will be used for further future proofing RPAS air safety (ie deconfliction) in the Canadian airspace.
How r u?, you create useful job, Sugu. )
Thank you for your commentary.
Good video - nicely done, thanks! One thing that stood out was the explanation of the safety assurance categories, in particular "Near People". I also thought including the case study was a fantastic idea - it's what prospective RPAS pilots should see right up front to get them thinking about flying legally and safely from the day one.
Thank you very much Mr. Reiter your comments are appreciated.
LOl....Safety for a toy!! In our country we fly these todays day and night no regulation.
@@Ameer-is3dh I don't necessarily agree with all our regulations, but I do think that there needs to be some regulatory framework that forces people to learn and understand the safe use of these aircraft. Consider that even a ~1kg "toy" has the potential to exert lethal force on your head if it falls out of the sky from a height of 100m.
@@rreiter That's a good point....I agreed. 1 kg or up would be very dangerous for sure.
Nice work, Soreign! Great case study showing almost everything you could possibly do wrong with an RPAS in Canada. I hope that guy learned his lesson and treat RPAS aviation with the respect required to keep our skies safe.
Thanks Dee! We appreciate your commentary. Keeping the skies safe is an A+ priority. We also thank you for going through the effort of getting your advanced drone certification. It takes a community to educate.
Hiya!-Bravo.very professional drone,ciao!🤟
Thank you very much we appreciate your comments
Hello, loved the video, great help to prepare. Noticed that the link to the Nav Canada Airspace Approval Form results in a 404 error. Do you have to create an account now to do this?
Yes that is correct please visit portal.navdrone.ca
Great video, and peek into the future of agriculture in Canada. 🇨🇦 👏👍

Wow. This is a great help!
We are happy to help Christine! Additionally if you have a android phone feel free to download Drone Centre from google play it’s a great tool for log book tracking and flights. Unfortunately it is not yet available on IOS. Don’t forget to like and subscribe!
Is the information provided in this video sufficient enough to pass the review flight?
Yes it is sufficient, how ever you should put together a package which consist of your site survey, weather, property permissions, notams and checklist. If your confused about this site survey process you can sign up to www.dronecentre.com and go through an automated process. You will need to register your drone by adding your aircraft in fleet management and then go to create a site survey. The checklist I am referring to is this one: sugutools.com/digital-downloads/
