Can't believe I missed the livestream, but here were my thoughts: The woman's rumble was solid. I'm not upset with Charlotte winning the women's royal rumble like a lot of people are. I get it, but I just don't feel that way. I was thinking Iyo was going to get the win with how well they were booking her with how long she was staying in the rumble. There was a lot of upcoming and younger talent in this match, and it could've easily gone to a handful of them. The tag match is probably the only match of the night that I see as the weakest compared to everything that happened before and after it. Diy and The Motor City Machine Guns have great chemistry but there wasn't anything special, other than The Street Profits coming out and causing mayhem. The ladder match between Owens and Rhodes was the best match of the night. Both put on a certified banger of a match. Both took insane bumps, and with the way it was being booked, I thought Kevin was going to pull off the upset. That was until Cody performed the Alabama Slam on Owens. Such a brutal landing for Owens. Many spots in the match were great but it was the Alabama Slam spot on the ladder bridge that ended up being "the spot." I was thinking Sami was going to ambush Cody after the match with how much he was staring at Cody, but the match was great without it. The men's royal rumble match was great from an in-ring work perspective, but Jey winning caught me off guard. I'm not upset with the decision, but I'd consider Jey winning a swerve decision, and this hasn't really been sitting well with me. Jey is likely to challenge Gunther again. I'm not against seeing another match between the two, but I'm not sure Jey needed to win the rumble to get another shot at Gunther. I feel like he could've gotten it through winning the Elimination Chamber or threw other means, but him winning felt like he was taking someone's spot. But at the same time, Jey has been in a tag team with his brother for over a decade. Him winning the rumble will serve as a way for Jey to elevate himself to be seen differently by people. Though, if Jey does pick Gunther, and wins at Wrestlemania, it begs the question as to why WWE didn't pull the trigger on SNME. He could pick Cody, but I think the better story would be him and Gunther. I was hoping either Punk or Roman won. Lot of people wanted Cena to win, and while I would've been stoked to see him win the last rumble he would be a part of, I'm not overly upset that he didn't win. From an in-ring perspective, I don't really have any complaints. The match was amazing. The storylines surrounding Jey gives me more questions than answers, but I guess that's something that's going to be a thing during this year's road to Wrestlemania; "having more questions than answers". (I don't really like to put a lot of expectations about those who may or may not appear in this match, but I was surprised that Randy Orton didn't show up. I figured like that would be a safe bet, considering all of the other names that was rumored or heavily speculated to have been a part of the royal rumble. I'm just glad Logan Paul didn't win. Jey winning was a swerve, but Logan winning would have been the biggest swerve to date. Overall, this Royal Rumble left me in shock more than anything. Hopefully I make sure I don't miss your stream for the Elimination Chamber if you do one for it. With nothing better to do tonight, I'm going to watch the stream since I missed it live. Lot of people are calling this rumble the best or at least one of the best. Not sure if I agree with that, but I can't deny that the ring work in each match was great.

I had such high hopes for AEW, and thought it was fine during the first two reigns. When Omega became champ I kept forgetting who the champ even WAS though, which tells me it wasn't grabbing my attention anymore. Then Hangman got it and did nothing with it (though I think that's booking more than HIM). CM Punk should have done something cool with the belt but was injured or backstage dramaed every time he got it, or even his X belt thing that we never saw the story for. That backstage drama, showing that Tony Khan was ALL IN with the midcarders backstage rather than the big draws that didn't actually seem to be doing anything particularly egregious made me realize that AEW was forever going to be about the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega (I mean they're in the name of the company so of course they deserve a prominent place) and I haven't watched more than a match here or there since the first Wembley show. I think I watched Sting's last match, and Edge's debut, and MAYBE I watched the full second Wembley show to try to give it a shot? I don't even remember though so I guess it didn't stick with me. I tried sooo hard to like AEW and it was so promising at first. Why TK can't just take a baby step back and hire a booker (but still control the overall flow of things... maybe it'd be better if he didn't, but hey, it's his company) is beyond me.

This is a callback to ROH world and ROH pure title for title match. ROH pure has a set time limit, so after the time limit only the world title is on the line. Continental title has a time limit (20 mins) to it, world doesn’t.

If it was WWE, this fantasy booking would probably be set in stone lol. Still new to AEW, but it sounds like something that could happen. Though having Adam beat Mox just to lose to Christian sounds like it would make sense from a story perspective, to me anways.

I think if he made the jump in 2019 or 2020 he could have been a big deal but after so many years as a WWE mid carder and the state AEW is in now I think the best we can hope for is some good matches here and there. At least he's prolly making a boat load of money
