After disassembling the built H22a, lots of good part are salvageable. Now I must teardown my other bad H22a4 and hope I have the right size crank.

you wouldn't happen to know why my turbos whines for my srt4?

@@importmodify no when in boost like higher rpm
@soulfv_1 idk I would have to hear it but when the turbo compresses air it has a whine noise to it. I'd take the intake off and inspect the fins and rotate them to make sure that it spins freely. Inspect the fins as well to make sure there is no damage. Sorry but that the best advice I got.

I tried to order a lip off the Z store and it was like 500 for freight shipping so I couldn't get it. I might try again later if I can find a better deal or something changes. Til then I've got some flooring trim to work with haha

So just followed your wiring harness explanation and my car won’t even start. 🤦🏽♂️ So have to continue diagnosing it. But it didn’t work for me sadly.
Sorry to hear that. Double check your connections. Must have missed something. It worked for me exactly how I explained it.
Also the the clutch pedal lever has to have the two plastic plugs covering the holes where the switches make contact. That would cause the car not to start if your missing the plugs on the lever.
@@importmodifyyou were right. After inspecting the clutch pedal both clips were shattered. Thanks so much for you help and amazing video. It really inspired my swap and made it seem doable. Thankyou 👍🏽

@@importmodify hey man. I responded but looks like YT deleted it. My rad is 13.5” H x 23.5” W. All the details on dimensions and reason for choice of this rad in Ep 17 around 6:55 mark

I got 300zx 1986 3.0L turbo same as your black car, how much for you to build my car ? I have everything for it just no time to build it. I’ve been watching your channel for years now maybe hit me back, if not then I might put the bug in your ear if I get stuck building it, 87.5mm wiseco pistons, eagle forged rods, stock cam? Doing the fuel rail Palnet all net etc, turbo relocation pipe you get the idea.

I had a 1987 300zx, I replaced the rotors on the front to fix the shaking
I wouldn't use the crank, get the block hardness tested near if the problem journal. If its okay go with it. Take a close look at the oil pump. And ask the owner. H22s oil pumps have a tendency to cavitate at high rpm and the balancing shaft delete is means the motor needs to be perfectly balanced or the pump gear gives up. If the pump hasnt been upgraded to a 4 port pump with a billet gear build this again and i 100% guarantee that shiz will run another bearing. A stock h22 intake will choke this motor out. If you have more questions feel free to ask anything about h22s i have done extensive reseach and 3 of my cars run h22 redtops.

What speed before float on those massive valve springs? 12k?
I don't know for sure but it can go to 10k right. I didn't see any problems with the valves so it can take it.
need some LSX pistons for those high rpms and less wear on internals...
Lsx pistons? I didn't know that was a thing for h22. I'm trying to do things as cheap as possible so these will have to do.
@@importmodify yeah didn't realize it was an h22 right away forgot to edit my comment after watching for a few min. LoL, too busy packing a bowl up. Is that a h22a or a4 ? I know it has the 50 camshaft but wasn't sure if it was the 4th gen or 5th Gen that started in 97? Also are those stock pistons or the stock Type -s pistons?
@gamersplaygroundliquidm3th526 fifth gen started in 97 but it was the only year that has 50mm crank. 98 and on got the 55mm crank. All h22s in fifth gen are h22a4. Previous h22 are h22a

It's been a while but I didn't bore it alot. It was still in the 87mm range. Maybe 87.5mm. From what I've researched. The fiber reinforced sleeves don't last long with aftermarket pistons.

I currently have a base model honda prelude(Auto). I just bought a manual Prelude(SH model). Ive been researhing and the forums stated i cant use the SH transmission with the base model block. What transmission did you use ??

I’m thinking about doing an engine swap myself on this car in particular, what engines do you think fit well and I am willing to change it from front wheel. Drive to all wheel or even rear wheel.
so is the turbo heatshield even important? or did you just say screw it and leave it off? im aware of the issues with trying to access the turbo with the lower shield, so just curious if i should delete mine.
@FortyMikeMelodies I just decided not to put it on. It does serve a purpose but if it takes out my coilpack I might do something about it. So far so good!
@@importmodify yeah, I’ve just heard of a lot of people leaving them off, car looks great, wish mine was that clean, changed the oil yesterday full synthetic and it’s leaking black around the power steering lines, so I’m thinking it’s indeed not oil haha

I don't see why you couldn't as long as you verify the wiring.
@@importmodify yeah like use the harness that’s already going towards the ecu since you won’t use some of those plugs . That’s how I did it on my accord when I h swapped / manual swapped it

It should last as long as you maintenance it when needed. Many people swap their Hondas and roll them for years.
What tools did u use to pull the wheel hubs out I saw a puller and then you used locking pliers with a slide hammer to pull the hub out. But why didn't you just hammer from the other side to slide it out ?

Hey, that quick moment you talked about in the other video is turned into 5 years. Did you ever finish this build or what? This is literally the last video on it and then it's just a bunch of other cars. Whatever happened?

Are any of the 10 pins in the trans connector a ground?
Great videos, thanks for the walkthrough. I did this swap and put 10k on the car since. The center console is not manual specific, you just need the boot and knob from a prelude/accord. Also the cv axles are the same but yes the halfshaft is specific. I also used the auto rear trans bracket and the auto lower trans plate as my MT didn't have one. I tricked my ecu successfully, but instead of running wires through the firewall I just soldered the correct wires together under the hood on the trans 10pin to lose the neutral safety switch and fool cruise control. On the clutch pedal I ended up welding up a brace out of 12ga steel so I could get that third upper pedal suppoet bolt. Otherwise the pedal torqued too much. I didn't want to try to replicate the anchor up under the dash... hard to explain but imagine if you cut a shoebox open diagonally so you have like 2 triangles on the sides giving you the bracing.that's the shape, I mocked it up out of cardboard first with just the pedal on my workbench. Bolt this brace between the pedal and firewall with the 2 bolts to the master and then 1 bolt from pedal to brace in the upper position. Works great, very solid. I got my prelude for $850 with bad auto trans... feels great to bring one back to life, they are fun.

Im having a problem getting the srarter to crank . No clicking. I changed the ignition switch . Relay. Everything..heard my car start before twice. Let me know if you had that issue ever before.😮

Am trying to bleed on my manual swap but for some reasons i can't get any of brake fluid out from anywhere i did used a doner car used clutch master ...
Get a vacuum brake bleeding tool. Sometimes you need to pull the fluid through.

If I've got a manual harness and manual ecu, cruise control deleted. can i skip all the wiring stuff @ 13:00 ? just plug the harness straight into the firewall connection? i want to be able to start the car 2 ways: 1) without pressing in the clutch 2) pressing in the clutch while in gear.
