Bible Gateway's translation and my KJV from Holman Bible Publishers I bought a few years ago both say 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. I believe the word 'everlasting' is translated from 'aeon', meaning age-abiding.

@@timclark2925 Were you quoting 25:46 from one of your Bibles or was that from your memory? As I said, the two sources I see of the KJV say everlasting and eternal, rather than eternal twice. Age-abiding generally means lasting for an age, to my understanding. Some believe this is pointing to the punishment being temporary. I've been exploring universal reconciliation/salvation for while now. The channel Total Victory of Christ explains a lot of these tough topics.

If you assert that Matt 24:1-23 has already happened, indeed in the generation of those living at the time, how do we make sense of the rest of Matt which tells us what will happen immediately after the tribulation? 29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Are we supposed to believe that the Son of Man returned on the clouds and we just missed it?

I do believe biblically it is told us that the great tribulation is at the end towards the time of the resurrection & Jesus' coming per Mt 24 with Dan 12 Matthew 24:21, 29-30 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Daniel 12:1-2 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

I have been preaching almost everything he said with nobody to collaborate it, so it was very good to hear this. If I could add one thing I have been preaching is the 70 weeks was a time of God's covenant with the Israeli people. When the church began it was entirely Jewish. Where things changed was God sent an angel to a man from Roman centurion of the Italian band. Peter went to him in Acts 10 and a gentile, not a Jewish proselyte received the Holy Ghost. That changed the covenant from Jewish to universal. Up to then salvation was of the Jews, you had to become a proselyte. Now the Jew must become a Christian to be saved. There is no Jewish covenant today, nor will be again. Everything is in Jesus.

If I were God (I'm not): ► I would have supplied numerous warnings in plain, straightforward, and unambiguous language. ► I would have worded the warnings in several different ways to guard against misunderstandings and/or people twisting my words out of shape. ► And I would have used multiple messengers to carry the word because just one manuscript might get lost or destroyed. Christianity by nature is the lack of evidence. Evidence doesn’t work to counter this ancient, politically belief. The belief in this ancient Christian cult is really stupid. Having studied the Bible for 53 years what I see is that the unsaved occupants of hell will be cast into the lake of fire. I believe the lake of fire is the condition of being without any of the blessings of God. It is a literal place with literal fire and brimstone. Those in hell will have eternal worms in their bodies constantly devouring their flesh, flesh that will never be devoured completely. How that will work is not spelled out in the Bible, it just is. Is there areas with more and hotter fire? We are not told. Are the worms more aggressive on certain people from others, we are not told. So you can see there will be greater pain for certain people than others. People in hell will be thinking and aware. How that impacts different people we knew not know. The bottom line is people in hell will suffer to varying degrees. We do not need to know the details. If you are wth God for eternity you simply are not going to be worrying about it.

Daniel 9.25 itself "answers" the time of the re-building history of the first "seven weeks," and only THEN does the text proceed, in verse 26, to the next "62 weeks," coming unto Messiah. The "prince" of the next sevens doesn't "immediately" follow, even if he IS Titus of Rome, for yet another generation of Jews, nor do his "People." Daniel 11, all the way up to chapter 12 verse 4, tells us specifically that "time " will pass before we reach the End. The Angel calls this TIME, as Jesus also says, "Such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time." Pretty exclusive moment! And it's ALL in the text, remarkably!

Neither can you use such faulty logic in unpacking what Moses tells Israel in Deuteronomy chapters 28 through 30 when he prophesies the coming 3,500 YEARS of lifetime of this people, as they stand there, waiting to enter the Land. Annihilation is incorrect and is not Orthodox. Jehovah's Witness and Seventh-day Adventist which are both cults believe that heresy. God does not think like we do. My thoughts are not your thoughts and my ways are not your ways.

Steve Greegs teaching on Purgatory is incorrect. Purgatory is not meant for people who have mortal sin, it's only meant for people with venial sin who still carry around imperfections and are not cleansed from impure thoughts. People with mortal sin go directly to hell at death

Great presentation. I would check out Edward Fudge for his view on this topic.

This is the one doctrine I wish the church would be open for discussion more. I go to a conservative non-denominational church. As an annihilationist, this is the only doctrine I can't teach at the church that I hold.

That's very sad, I feel for you as a fellow annihilationist who feels this is so clear in scripture. It's funny because looking at this issue the traditionalist has been fairly well indoctrinated, has a few very poor proof texts and yet they would say it's strong exegetically when I think just the opposite. But how would one know, if they only ever get one view pushed down their throat and never another? It's not like the traditional view upholds God's character or fits any standard temporal Christian notion of justice or punishment either.

@@michaelnewzealand1888 Very true. I think a lot of them are afraid to even consider an alternate view. Sometimes, the conservative side of Christianity embraces things because they are more difficult, so they aren't seen as progressives. I decided to become a Biblical Christian first. The other view I was neutral about for 20 years is Calvinism. It actually took me longer to get out of that than Eternal Torment. Even though I wouldn't have been in trouble for teaching Free Will/Provisionism. But to me, that was more difficult than my view on final judgement Biblically.

Ecclesiastes 9:5 says the dead know nothing, neither have they a reward seems like it is saying that you have until death to repent and turn to Jesus....I just learned of your teaching 2 weeks ago,and I am encouraged to find a teacher with understanding so similar to my own.i agree that some topics are a little harder to discuss with people of different views, but I think thats why he says iron sharpens iron, because it has to be done through some friction and some times even some sparks

My late grandfather was similar to Mr. Gregg as a renowned Bible scholar. They called him the walking Bible. It was definitely a gift that he was given.

Proving your biblical views through the eyes of the person who doesn't already believe is a powerful enough statement to keep me here through to the end. I'm never convinced that the biblical arguments of a video I'm watching will be considerate of the people who don't already believe, so I'm wary to commit to any of them.

GOD bless you Steve for having the humility and integrity to admit that our belief system should be evaluated and reformed, if necessary, to truly seek GOD'S truth.
