Daniel 9:27 gives a few highlights of the final week, the seven-year tribulation period: “[A ruler] will confirm a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing of the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him.” Jesus refers to this passage in Matthew 24:15. The ruler who confirms the covenant and then sets up the abomination is called “the beast” in Revelation 13. According to Daniel 9:27, the beast’s covenant will be for seven years, but in the middle of this week (3 ½ years into the tribulation), the beast will break the covenant, putting a stop to the Jewish sacrifices. Revelation 13 explains that the beast will place an image of himself in the temple and require the world to worship him. Revelation 13:5 says that this will go on for 42 months, which is 3 ½ years (the second half of the tribulation). So, we see a covenant lasting to the middle of the “week” (Daniel 9:27) and the beast who made the covenant demanding worship for 42 months (Revelation 13:5). Therefore, the total length of time is 84 months or seven years. We also have a reference to the last half of the tribulation in Daniel 7:25. There, the ruler will oppress God’s people for “a time, times, and half a time” (time=1 year; times=2 years; half a time=½ year; total of 3 ½ years). This time of oppression against the Jews is also described in Revelation 13:5-7 and is part of the “great tribulation,” the last half of the seven-year tribulation when the beast, or the Antichrist, will be in power.
I'm learning and guessing about other things in scriptures, and I amit, somewhat confused. But, I'm hanging on🎉
Context of the Rich man and lazarus gives it away as to who Jesus is addressing. It's a parable in a sequence of parables, and look carefully at verse 14&15, Jesus is setting the stage, he is addressing the Pharisees, Luke 16:14-15, "he said to THEM", that is the Pharisees A. An allegory about Jesus (Lazarus) and the destruction of Jerusalem & Priesthood (The Rich Man) 1. All of the elements of this allegory/parable are drawn from four OT prophecies, all of which prophesy the destruction of Jerusalem & the priesthood in AD70. Deut. 31:28-30; 32:5,15-29; Isaiah 28:1-19 & 29:1- 14; Isaiah 50:6-11; Mal. 1:6 - 3:5 B. Components of the Rich Man and Lazarus parable (Luke 16:19-31) 1. An allegory/parable, not literal history. One of the earliest manuscripts, Codex Bezae (5th century), begins vs. 19 as follows: Ειπεν δέ και ετεραν παραβολην - "But He spoke also another parable, ..." a. The last in a series of parables spoken to the Jewish leadership. (compare Lk. 16:1) 2. Characteristics of the “Rich Man” - the apostate Jewish Priesthood - Levi & Levites a. Justified themselves (Luke 16:15 / Mal. 1:6; 2:14,17; 3:8,13) b. Improperly divorced wives and remarried (Luke 16:18 / Mal. 2:13-16) c. “Lovers of money” (Luke 16:14) who had “robbed God” (Mal. 3:8-10). d. Dressed in purple and fine linen 1. “Purple” was the clothing of kings (Mark 15:17). 2. “Fine linen” was the clothing of priests (Ex. 39:27-29). 3. The Hasmonean Dynasty (descended from the Maccabees) were “priest-kings,” and continued to rule Israel in both roles under Herod the Great. 3. “Lazarus” - Jesus Christ, Greek form of the Hebrew name “El’eazar,” “El” is the short form of “Elohim”=God, + “eazr” = “My Help.” Thus “God is My Help” a. Aaron’s son, “Eleazar” was the faithful High Priest who succeeded Aaron (Num. 20:25-29). b. “Eleazar” (God is My help) applied to Jesus several times: (Psalm 22:16-19; Psalm 40:6-17) b. The name “Lazarus” was drawn directly from Isaiah’s prophecy of Jesus and the destruction of the Levitical priesthood (Isaiah 50:6-11). “God is My help” appears in vss. 7&9. 4. Jesus/Lazarus came as a “poor beggar,” born in a stable, homeless, dependent on support of others. a. Luke 9:58; 2 Cor. 8:9 5. Full of “sores” - Jesus bore our diseases and infirmities (Matt. 8:16-17; Isaiah 53:4-5 LXX) 6. The “dogs” who honor Jesus - the Gentiles (Matt. 15:22-28) 7. Desiring to eat the crumbs (as a Man, Jesus ate humble food) 8. The beggar died - the crucifixion of Christ. 9. Carried by the angels - His bodily ascension w/angelic accompaniment (Acts 1:9-11, cf. Matt. 24:31) 10. Abraham’s bosom/embrace a. A term used only in Gen. 16:5 for Abraham’s intimacy with his wife to produce an heir. b. Lazarus in Abraham’s embrace shows that He (Jesus) was the promised Seed of the Covenant. 11. The rich man died afterwards - the destruction of Jerusalem 40 years later in AD 70 a. Priesthood demolished - Deut. 32:19-22; Isaiah 28-29; Isaiah 50:11; Mal. 1:6 - 3:12 12. “In Hades” - refers to the priesthood in exile from the Land & Temple. a. “Hades” is the “grave” of humanity (Num. 16:33; 1 Kings 2:9; Ezek. 32:27; 1 Cor. 15:55). b. The unfaithful priesthood punished in “Hades” (Deut. 32:19-22; Isa. 28:15,18; 29:4). 13. Tormented in the flames - God’s wrath (Deut. 32:19-22; Isa. 50:11; Mal. 3:2-3). 14. Send Lazarus to bring relief - Send the Messiah to restore Israel (Hosannah - “save now”) 15. The Great Gulf - the blindness imposed on Israel (Isa. 6:9-13; Matt. 13:10-15; Rom. 11:7-10). 16. Five Brothers - the other 5 tribes of Israel from the same mother - Leah a. Levi had 5 brothers: Reuben, Simeon, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun (Gen. 30). 17. If they will not hear Moses, they will not hear the One who rose from the dead - Jesus. a. No sign would be given to that wicked generation (Mark 8:11-12).
Brilliant, honest, in depth yet simple to follow analysis of a complex important issue. Personally I think any decent moral person should instinctively react to eternal torture view of hell with disgust. Even before, and much more important than the Bible, God breathed into us a conscience.
As you were teaching, the scripture 1st Corinthians 3:11-17 came to mind. 1 Corinthians 3:11-17 King James Version 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. 16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

What is meant by Matthew 24-29? After the teibulation 9f those days, the sun will be darkened etc. Isnt that describing the return of Christ?

amen and amen,,, seen this back when I was 20 to 21 of age was saved for only a couple years and God is faithful when He show His truth... good to know there's others out there... I'm not alone, what a wonderful feeling... praise His wonderful name...
We need to recognize that the two parables in Luke is aimed at dealing with Mammon - money - which stands out in the text and context.
cant hear the questioners
There are a lot of verses that are very PROBLAMATIC for the Universalist viewpoint. John 3:36 says, "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son SHALL NOT SEE LIFE, but the wrath of God abides on him.” NOTICE it does NOT say, "He will EVENTUALLY see eternal life... Revelation 20:10 says, "The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever." By the way, the beast (anti-christ) and the false prophet are NOT demons but men. Revelation 14:9-11 says, "Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” Revelation 20:11-15 says, "Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire." By the way, there is NOT one single verse that even hints that ANYONE thrown into the Lake of Fire will EVER be let out of said lake. 1Timothy 4:10 ...and we believe in the living God who is the savior of ALL men, especially for those who believe." Meaning: Salvation is offered to all men but is ONLY special to those who believe. Why? Again, John 3:36 says, "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son SHALL NOT SEE LIFE, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
These verses are only problematic if you don't actually understand the argument of the universalist. Did you listen to this full lecture because it doesn't sound like you did? I would recommend you actually get his book and read It because I couldn't do justice to it here in a YT comment section. If you did listen to this entire lecture and these are still your arguments then it sounds like you're set on your own belief and therefore weren't capable of hearing the counterargument and I guess in that scenario rewatching won't help anyway. The reality is this topic and many others aren't as clear cut as we've been led to believe and as a result, ALL doctrines built on ambiguous or vague scriptures can lend to your opening argument of "there are a lot of verses that are problematic for..." And that is the point. There are "problematic" verses for the annihilationist and there are a lot of verses that are "problematic" for eternal conscious torment. Just because you find "problematic" verses does not render the argument invalid.
What if it’s not either/or but both/and? What if believers in the is life are saved from destruction, unbelievers suffer destruction (hell) but can repent before annihilation, like being refined by fire, what’s good will remain , the rest burnt up. Ever wonder who the faithful will rule/reign with Christ over?
Well the Roman Catholic Church is the office of the Anti Christ so it’s no surprise that they ruled with fear of hell in order to in force submission
And they also translated the Bible wrong to fit their plan
I am on the fence on this subject as I see God as loving and forgiving, but on the other hand I also see people who torment thousands, torture and end them in times like WW2, would God who loves those that suffered just annihilate those who were responsible? I know that in the OT punishment was often metered out as 1 year for each day of transgression to those He loved. So I wonder how a single day could punish those who denied others eternal life? Again I also don't see God getting any pleasure in their torment, but some texts say just that.
♦♦♦♦The writer John is writing to a current generation. So when John says 5 have come, the 6th is now present (NERO) and the 7th is to come...that statement would only be relevant to that generation being most wouldn't never see the Kings after the 7th. This shows Revelation was written in Nero's time.
Warnings and commands in God's prophesy through Christ could have a rebound effect through time...especially Books of Daniel, Revelation and Matthew, Mark..God's people change and need a refresher course..the already and the not yet. The angels or spirits that govern the 7 churches are still around. Likewise, the angels that govern whole areas such as Prince of Persia, are still holding sway, in this case, against God's will in Iran and surrounding. The 5th kingdom ( feet and toes of the mixed material statue of Nebuchadnezzer) is made of a hybridization of the Spirit over Rome and regular flesh humans..this is the kingdom still in power and has yet to be smashed by my Lord and Savioir Jesus Christ
To paraphrase the philosopher Ernest Nagel: "Life is just an episode between two oblivions". Indeed if this atheist is correct and that's all there is to life--ultimately--then I would subscribe to Conditional Immortality. The Scriptures declare this is not true. Conditional Immortality says, alas, when all is said and done in life, nothing really matters--do what you want--eat, drink and be merry because even if you perish and suffer for sins in hell, you can be comforted in knowing that this horrible afterlife of suffering (even if its a million years) will finally end one day. And then poof! You are annihilated. And Ernest Nagel's words are thus true. Words in the Bible used to describe both heaven and hell may be symbolic but the message is clear--life in Christ in the new world will be so wonderful its beyond our imagination and dying without Christ is so horrible its beyond our imagination--at all costs its to be avoided. Both Annihilationism and the Universal position blunt our utterly desperate situation, and undermine the Gospel.
it was 70ad
Keep this disgusting cult bullshit off my feed.
While I think it is true, that we may say more about hell, than the scripture does: I think there are some basics we can't ignore: that Jesus taught that it is a place we don't want to go (better to lose your hand or eye than to go there), it's not just the dump outside the city (gehenna): because the beast, false prophet are distroyed there (fear him that can kill the soul in hell: that's beyond the dump). We should not forget that the word "dead" currently describes the LIVING body we all have (Romans 8 "if Chist is in you the Spirit is alive, but the body is dead because of sin")...so that the word "dead" is used to discribe the state of people with consciousness right now : It would be natural, then, to think that the second death discibes a further judgment/condishion of one in a continued existance. True, we do not have eternal life in ourselves: but it seems that is fixed when we ALL (good or bad) are rased from the dead: some to "eternal" life, others to "eternal" damnation. The "second death" , if like the first: is a continued existence discribed as "death", but in a total state of judgment. Then we have Jesus basing his point about the rich man and Lazarus off of the principal of one's continued existance after death, in a state of torment. That should be placed in the center of the conversation.
Adam never faced that possibility, how could anyone else?
DARBY DID NOT START THE TEACHING OF DISPENSATIONS! IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN THE BIBLE! WAKE UP PEOPLE. STUDY YOUR BIBLE RIGHTLY DIVIDED!
It is not how your mind works, it’s all YAHUAH. Give Him the glory He deserves.
In my brief time in a church, I wasn’t taught anything about the rapture. But when I read the Bible for myself, I came to the same conclusion as Steve Gregg. When I began talking with other people about the Bible, I was surprised and confused when so many of them did believe in a pre-tribulation rapture. I don’t understand why they think God would not protect them during the tribulation, perhaps that was the genesis of the pre-tribulation rapture theory.
I think alot also watched/read the left behind series and was scared. It's sad they're scared though.
I was really confused about this rapture thing because it was so prevalent in the RUclips community that people believed it, it seemed like a very common and I couldn’t find anything that was actually explained enough about it to warrant it being relevant, it seemed like a lot of confusion, and we all know that Jesus Christ is not the Father of confusion. I was really disturbed when I saw a ministry selling a book that had instructions on how to repent and ask for forgiveness and receive salvation before you take the mark of the beast and salvation is yours. Wow. I’m so sorry for God having people twist His words.
@@markdonnaabbott3977 I have noticed that the RUclips videos that are about what happens to people that don’t take the mark off the beast are especially bad for people who don’t understand that Jesus will protect us during that period These videos say that the people who don’t have the mark will be hunted by the enemy, they will be hungry and they will never see their families and they will be in a horrible situation, we have to be very careful, Jesus said more than anything else about the end times, Do Not BE DECEIVED. we need to be prepared , scripture and obedience is the key, we are in a very important position, I am very honoured and very humbled by the fact that God has put us in the most important time in the history of the world, so excited, and so grateful for the Gift of Faith. I hope you have a wonderful day. What do you think the mark of the beast is? I have been thinking that Elon musk’s company NeuroLink, has something to do with it.
I had the same experience. When I first heard of the rapture and dispensationalism and Israel being God's timepiece, I was really startled and wondered if I was reading another book. So I stayed quiet and tried to humbly learn.
I thought the same thing about dispensationalism, it’s satans way of twisting the truth. I think a lot of the content that I am getting from the algorithm is AI. I have noticed that the people that I used to follow look different, AI generated, it’s easy to twist the truth and to add confusion, like the rapture, I noticed that everyone believed in some form of the rapture, making it seem like a definite truth , instead of just calling it the, “catching away”.
I highly *HIGHLY* recommend theologian and Bible scholar David Bentley Hart’s book ‘That ALL Shall Be Saved’
As at the beginning :Mar 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, Mar 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. As at the End Acts1:3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
David Bentley Hart has an excellent book titled ‘That ALL Shall Be Saved’. Buy it. Read it.
People like this guy, he said "before Jesus comes back" . He's anti christian. Jesus is with me now. Apparently not with him. Revelations already happened.
Matthew chapter 6:5 Jesus said “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Darby didn't invent dispensation,,,God says we will see Jesus rule for a thousand years,,,new Jerusalem is where all believers will live forever,,Israel will be God's main action in the near future,,,sure they hate Jesus,,they did then ,,they do now,,,yes Hebrew has been modified,,,so has every language that has been around for 2000 years,,,,you are wrong on so many things I consider you a atheist,,,and you have no business blotting out the things that are happening now,,,telling me it's raining,,but your nnnn in my face
The obomination of desolation will be set up,,will be standing,,will be aimed at Judea,,the Jews will see this in Judea,,the missile is in the temple in Jerusalem,,they have to flee to the mountains to escape the blast zone,,this requires live tv,,,very few Jews in Judea till 1985,, before it was called a nuke it was called a A bomb,,,abonb a nation, the project was called Trinity,,this causes desolation and a direct blasphemy toward God
King Charles the third has all the images of the beast on his coat of arms,,the antichrist and a cup of tea. By Tim Collins points only to Charles
The obomination of desolation arrived in 45,,then in Japan,,but it had to wait for the mobile launcher,,that's in 58,,,everyday we worry about a mobile nuke being used,,since so many countries have many of these devices
Charles the 3 Rd is the beast,,yes there have been many antichrist,,the bible can warm many generations ,,but the obomination of desolation makes this generation the last one of the church age
I think the biggest problem with Per-Tribulation believers is they get mix up with Tribulation and Wrath, Wrath is completely different meaning in the Bible then the word Tribulation means.
He got most of Daniel 9 correct (vs 26, wrong), but Revelation and Matthew 24 was way off. The example of the "car ride" he got from another preacher named Steve Wohlberg who by the way, gets all of Daniel 9 correct and the rest of the Bible :):
I never did anything with my life when I was young because I was certain the rapture was happening “any day now”. At 46 I now slap myself in the forehead when I think of it.
I'm reminded of the movie; "Hell and Mr. Fudge". I wonder if Steve has ever seen it.
"Hell and Mr. Fudge" is a great movie. I recommend it without reservation. (Available on RUclips.)
I think Jesus, the real King, Redeemer and Saviour will present himself to everyone. It is impossible to believe in someone your never met! So, He will reveal Himself, His scared hands and side and tell everyone that He did it for them. Should they still choose to reject Him, the judgement will be rendered. He is not willing that any should perish but that ALL come to Him for His free gift of salvation in Christ!

For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17
Wow!! Just wow. This makes perfect sense!
Matthew 25:46 "“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” Rev 14:11 "And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” Sure sounds like eternal to me....
Bible Gateway's translation and my KJV from Holman Bible Publishers I bought a few years ago both say 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. I believe the word 'everlasting' is translated from 'aeon', meaning age-abiding.
@@WaffleDragon please educate me; what does age-abiding mean...thank you
@@timclark2925 Were you quoting 25:46 from one of your Bibles or was that from your memory? As I said, the two sources I see of the KJV say everlasting and eternal, rather than eternal twice. Age-abiding generally means lasting for an age, to my understanding. Some believe this is pointing to the punishment being temporary. I've been exploring universal reconciliation/salvation for while now. The channel Total Victory of Christ explains a lot of these tough topics.
Smoke rising forever is an ancient idiom which the ancients understood but almost nobody does today. What does the Bible mean by that phrase, Tim? How did the ancients understand it? Do you know?
Your last post disappeared, Tim. If you repost, it I will listen to what you have to say.
Sing to the Lord a new song, sing to the Lord all the earth. Psalm 96:1
If you assert that Matt 24:1-23 has already happened, indeed in the generation of those living at the time, how do we make sense of the rest of Matt which tells us what will happen immediately after the tribulation? 29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Are we supposed to believe that the Son of Man returned on the clouds and we just missed it?
I think "the last day" refers to the last day of the Old Testament covenant. We are now in the "never ending" age of Christ as King over His New Covenant Spirit Filled people.
My last name is Darby. Don't know if related to J.N.D. or not.
I do believe biblically it is told us that the great tribulation is at the end towards the time of the resurrection & Jesus' coming per Mt 24 with Dan 12 Matthew 24:21, 29-30 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. Daniel 12:1-2 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
