I did! I used the Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1/4. But I have to say having such a foggy day helped a lot as well.
Is this shot on the Helios 44-2 cinemod or just the regular?
@@KelzionFilms Just the regular! I’ve tried the cinemod version and it’s fun, but I prefer the results of the regular!
@I have the same lens, it’s great! Also, did you DaVinci in post or FCPX?
@ Not for this one! Color graded in Premiere and added some grain / extra effects in after effects

Thank you! This was real bare bones since it was just myself and the actor. I had the Helios on my Sony FX3 with my cage, handheld, natural light. I have a follow focus attached to the cage so that’s how I pulled focus, no auto on this one!

That was awesome! The first thing that came to mind for some reason, was that the creature you put in the end of short, must be what Tommy saw that one time he woke up and that monster was hovering over him wiggling like one of them car wash people 😂

I don't understand why HELIOS-44-2 is so popular? If you want exactly the look that this lens gives, why not buy the HELIOS-77M-4 1.8/50 or the HELIOS-44-3 2/58? These lenses will give you exactly the same look, but they are sharper and have lens coatings.
Great question! I can only speak for myself on this, I personally love the uncoated, not so sharp look the lens gives since the digital camera already has such a sharp and clinical image. But I haven’t used the lenses you listed yet so maybe I’ll check them out, thanks for the suggestion!

Which adapter do you use for helios ?
I used the tiffen black pro mist 1/4, a variable nd filter, and to connect it to the body just a cheap M42 adapter from Amazon
