MK6 Volkswagen Jetta 1.4TSI (CAVD/CTHD) Timing Chain Replacement
Hi! Thanks for watching. I’m replacing the timing chain on my MK6 Jetta 1.4TSI (CTHD). This procedure & parts are the same for CAVD engines as well. Usually, if the timing chain has stretched too much, an error code should appear. In my case, there were no errors.. Also got it inspected at Volkswagen SC Puchong for confirmation as they have the right tools to measure timing chain elongation. Further details are in the video…
Part numbers and prices in MYR are listed at the end of the video & the links to it are below.

DQ200 Mechatronics diagnose & repair due to P17BF error. [Volkswagen Jetta MK6]
Просмотров 2239 месяцев назад
Initial diagnosis was P17BF - (Loss of pressure - To explain this in detail, the accumulator inside the mechatronic unit does the job of imitating a human pressing down the clutch. When this part can’t do its job, shifts either become jerky / does not shift at all. Imagine yourself half clutching / not pressing the clutch at all) Usually, what happens is, the housing in which this accumulator i...

LEGO McLaren Formula 1 Race Car #42141 - (LEPIN Replica)
Просмотров 10911 месяцев назад
This isn't an original LEGO set but a knock-off version from LEPIN. It wasn't as satisfying, some pieces were so hard to install that if any mistakes were made, a plier is required to pull them out (that's why there's a plier in the video) while some parts were loose but mostly ok. I'm not going to disassemble this set again and it's only a showpiece so it's fine. I'd give it a 7/10 rating. I'd...

Hello bro great informational video. I have a 2014 Jetta with CTHD as well and I am having overheating issues where the oil temp keeps on increasing until it reaches 111 in city driving. And the coolant temp also increases above 105 and decreases when the rpm is below 3000 or the car is at still (but I had to rev a bit to decrease the coolant temp). On the highway, the oil temp will be at >110 at 140km/h. This is after changing the water pump, radiator, and thermostat. It was worse before, I was getting coolant temp of 115 at 140km/h. I can't go above that speed because the temp rises fast after that. I have no warning lights on the gauge cluster. I am not sure what the problem is, might be the engine itself? edit: I am using lufy meter to record the coolant temp.

Hi @mannyxz , if your water pump, radiator, thermostat is new & you have confirmed that there are no blockages in these components, you need to do a combustion leak test. If a headgasket is leaking, high temperatures in coolant and oil will be seen. Is there any white smoke coming out of the exhaust when the car is at idle or revving? This could be an indication of a headgasket leak but sometimes, white smoke can't be seen though, best to perform a 'combustion leak test' with the right tools. Check the oil too. Any kind of oil + coolant mixing will turn the liquid milky. If it is, don't start the engine. If all these has passed the tests, there could be blockages in the coolant passages inside the engine block / head itself. Best option here is to open it up for a rebuild but you can always try radiator flush to see if there's any improvement.

@@hams_718 I have checked the oil it looks good. In fact, I changed it when I replaced the radiator on 27th June to Liquimoly. I don't see any white smoke coming out of the exhaust either. Will try doing the combustion leak test. Also, I have heard a hissing sound from the engine but not always. Could it be a vacuum leak? When I was accelerating with the windows down, I smelled something but it is definitely not the coolant. There are no fluid leaking on the ground too.

@@Mannyxz Mine hisses from the engine bay too with an odd smell coming from the engine bay when the hood is open. Looked everywhere, sprayed some soapy water on all hoses to see if there are any bubbles forming but nope, nothing at all. Even brought it to VW service center to get it checked by a professional, apparently the hissing is normal but I doubt it since I never heard the same sound before. Will do further inspection and reply here if i manage to figure out what it is..
