「タイヤレバーのほうが早い」という人がいますけど、塗装しているホイールだとレバーの支点の部分の塗装が剥がれちゃうんですよね タイヤチェンジャーみたいにビードを滑らせながらホイールに嵌めるほうが結局傷や塗装剥がれ、新品タイヤのビードを切ってしまうリスクが少ないんですよ

This procedure worked as planned for this application. This wheel and tire was in very nice condition. To try and use this technique on a tire that was stuck on a rim it will never happen lol. I've had difficulty removing tires with a machine. Just sayin.

In 24 years as a commercial tyre fitter I've never seen this before. It's a good idea for smaller standard tyres but I'm pretty sure you'd struggle your bits off with a run flat 😂

Slick use of coated cable! BTW a tub of tire mounting compound is a worthy addition as it lubes rubber vastly better than the usual soapy water and does not promote corrosion. I've manually mounted many tires and will not go back to dishwashing liquid except in dire emergency.

I see you used your wood to break the bead, but don't forget to lube up that gaping big bead for easier access. Lube makes everyone happier

Make sure the first part of the tire you put around the wheel goes around the deepest part of the wheel. That is the "trick"

Cool bead breaker you have. The cable idea is neat, but you could have used a couple bars and some dish soap and done 3 tires in the time it took to do one with the cable. Still a good video depicting how one can "Think outside the box" Looking at the bead breaker, you are obviously creative and have good mechanical inclination. Maybe you could make a machine out of wood with a small winch or electric motor to pull the cable around tire bead. Just anchor one end and connect the other end to a winch or electric motor. Either way, the cable idea is neat and it would be beneficial especially on nice aluminum wheels because bars can damage aluminum wheels. I have used everything from rags to shrink tubing to electrical tape on my bars and its still somewhat difficult to not damage the wheels to a certain extent. I am old now and treated myself to a real tire machine, but there was a time when I could have used the cable idea. I am going to try it on riding lawnmower tires. The small front ones don't fit on my tire machine, and can be a real pain to change sometimes. Thanks for making this video and sharing your ingenuity.

We dont have wire rope that would be called a cable in my neighborhood. Just saying.

Put some soap or soapy water around the lip of the tire and it will work way better. The wire will glaide right along the tire. Especially at the end of yhe video. The soapy water acts as a lubricant

If you lube up the tire and wheel with soapy water it’ll go easier.
