Arguably the most exciting song in the show...The manhunt continues for the Barrow Gang as Clyde (Lance Smith) and Buck (Garrett Chandler) rob banks with newly stolen BARs (browning automatic rifles) www.barrowvbrosbar.com for rentals. Ted (Eric Thomas Anderson) vows to bring Clyde down with hopes of redeeming Bonnie Parker. The song ends with one of the most chilling 3 part harmonies since And...

Wow, so it takes Andy Karl a long time before he gets shirtless in this one, huh?
Paulie is so hilarious when he’s breaking down in an angry and spoiled and obnoxious meltdown for a drunk and alcoholic and bad tempered behavior like a bratty human being on Christmas Eve and loses his mind with Rocky and Adrian.
my mom hates the part of the movie rocky where paulie throws the thanksgiving turkey into the alley while he kept the leg for himself.
This musical has a modernized vibe to it compared to the original movie
I saw this on broadway at the very first preview. They so many issues to open this show. They night before which was suppose to be the first preview had to be cancelled because the theater lost power. So, they brought in a generator truck to power the show the night I went. The director, Alex Timbers, came out before and made a little speech basically telling us that anything could happen. The entire creative team was standing in the back of the orchestra section on pins and needles. In spite of all that, the show went off without too many issues. The audience seemed to be full of Rocky fans and loved it. Sly Stallone was there and he came out on stage and made a speech after the show. It was a great night. That being said, in the history of musical theater this would not go down as one of the best. Looking at from a purely musical theater lens, it has issues. What it does have is nostalgia and heart!

They did a great job of capturing the spirit of the movie. The music was great. Outstanding musical. Whoever was recording did a terrible job of recording the curtain call.
Technically they aren't allowed to film the show.
Since when did Rocky have tattoos??
😍🤤 THANK YOU!!!!! My daddy watched a rocky movie (1per day) everyday in order. Im a fan of musical life long & I recently got into Rocky movies since now daddy has been gone for 20 years now. I remember when they made the announcement back then I didn't care nor did I know/remember daddy watching them as much as he did. Suicide Sucks! Think of your family!!!!!!

This is an amazing musical, it’s so sad that the show didn’t last as long on Broadway as it did for 3-4yrs in Germany. I wish the musical would’ve at least done a production in Philadelphia. I would’ve seen that especially considering the story takes place there and has a lot of real life references. Hopefully, there’ll be a Broadway Revival maybe someday 🤞
We are producing this show in Philadelphia at the Walnut Street Theatre. Performances begin Oct 4th. All the bogus references are fixed ("south side" vs. "South Philly", etc). It's a great show.
@@siobhanruane that’s cool, hopefully it will be a good show. Any chance of the production being professionally recorded? I’ve always wanted to see an original production of the show and I don’t live in Philly or Pennsylvania.
At 18:36 the way he looks at her & takes her hand and says “Adrian” melts my heart. Also my goodness the violins in that song wow
This play looks horrible. None of the play actors sound anything like the original characters at all, or don’t even look like them
They literally do what are you talking about?
Casting a show isn’t about finding someone that’s identical to a film portrayal, it’s about finding someone that can be an adequate vessel for telling the story. These people are undeniably talented and if you have so much to say about it, why don’t you try playing one of these characters? See how much the world will criticize your performance like you’re someone that knows anything about the art of acting.
Well I just finished my first ever viewing of this show. I'll definitely have to do at least one rewatch before forming a opinion but I'm pretty confident in saying that none of the songs were memorable IMO. If I'm not singing or at least humming a tune from the show for the next few days after I see it that's a problem. On the plus side I REALLY enjoyed the FIGHT at the end. I think the arena vision was an excellent idea but having that makes it even harder to pull off the fight without the punches looking awful I'll say this much .... I
i saw it on broadway it was my first broadway show but the only parts i remember are raining, the arena, & the pet store
This did not run long on Broadway, but I would say this musical is under rated
I just about CRIED laughing when Paulie threw the turkey into the alley.
That scene where paulie thew thanksgiving day turkey into the alley reminds me of the bumpus hounds eating all of the turkey that was a chirstmas day dinner for the ralphie parker and randy parker and mr.parker and mrs.parker before they went out to a chinese resturant for a christmas day dinner from a christmas story.
This was the first Broadway Show I ever saw!
Okay, two things: 1. I never expected to enjoy this show this much. 2. People that get up and start leaving during the curtain call are so disrespectful. Like, bro...this isn't the credits of a movie.
You are so right. I don't care how you felt about it. These people spent months pouring their hearts into something for your entertainment. You can't sit there for two minutes and clap. What a POS
Totally agree
Am I the only one who actually really likes the music?
I loved it too
Me too.
Are you kidding- this music is the soundtrack of life! In Philly, every song is known
The training montage is silly, but it's still fun
This is very much a musical that guys would love! Like my husband would be rocking out
The Philly accent of the ice rink guy oh Lord it's dead on balls accurate
Woo what a birthday treat! Broadway bingeing during covid
The three part harmony and the end was beautiful. Also Lance is very handsome
Honestly, I feel this would have done so much better if they just did it as a play. I love everything about this show except for the music
You don’t have the scenes without the songs
The music was great.
Terrance Archie's voice!!!
Before I saw it, I didn’t think Rocky could work as a musical. But it really does.
I mean I suppose. Alex Timbers is a brilliant director in terms of visionary theater. His shows are usually always brilliant to look at but lack any real substance. Also the music in this show is fucking terrible. How do you write "Journey to the past" and "Waiting for life" and then go on to write "my nose aint broken".?
I'm in love. It's really great if you love the movie
On the one hand the lyrics are referring to future events (the ending/ Rocky II) in the past tense but couldn't imagine a Rocky musical training montage without Eye of the Tiger and loved how they used it.
Thought Rocky became a boxer because he couldn’t sing or dance 😂
That’s what cool about musical theatre. Not every song number is diegetic in the narrative. “Fight from the Heart” is non-diegetic because he isn’t saying his feelings out loud, but rather the song is externalizing his inner thoughts
Thank you for uploading this. I wanted to see this so badly and unfortunately it was over so quickly. Beautifully done.
they fucked the movie
That must be hard to watch in person lol too cheesy...
It was great.
margo seibert. period.
Amen
I love her
This is worth watching for the set design and choreography alone. I know Andy worked his butt off and Stallone lost some money.
How did Stallone lose some money?
@@thelevisullivan Pretty sure he was one of the producers.
This was soooo bad i couldnt stop watching it. i thought there must be a few good songs but nope. .... cool sets but the worst songs ever. i mean lyrics like my nose aint broken... wow
"Raining" is ok though, and well, what can you expect from the "Rocky Musical" Rocky doesn't even talk xD
I’ve been watching this musical in tiny bits over the course of days, I don’t know why I can’t just stick with it without breaks.
Adrian’s voice is so pretty and the song too. Good acting
If she wants to leave, let her go, don’t hold the door closed, try again tomorrow.
No means no. Try again later after considering her point of view.
Yeah, it started being creepy when he took the sweater off.
Love this musical and movie but yea this part always a lil uncomfy lmao good song tho
All these late muthafuckas
How long was the fight call for this show?
