I think it just comes down to how the deck wins. Ruby/Amethyst doesn’t prevent you from playing the game, Bucky Discard does

@@OrionTCGs IT dosent prevents you from playing game, its interrupts your game plan by destorying your resorces. Hateing diffrent game strategies dont let that game develope. As many players shows during challenges you could outdraw bucky, and bucky dosent have late game. So people invented counter strategies in less than month. Baning bucky after new set comes out is useless since new cards showed up and we have already cards with better power lvl like Pete and Prince John mirror. I can imagine another community Rage about Pete who dont them Play cards they want. In my opinion overpowered cards should be baned, but what overpowered mean? Its cards that used to build decks thats constantly win.

​@@crazysqurielI responded to you elsewhere. You can go read that reply if you like. But the short version is that that's the game. That's MOST card games. But you HAVE CARDS to play. It's up to you how to play them. Eveyone knows the standard Ame/R list, and what to watch out for. At least against it, you have cards. Against Bucky, you're in topdeck mode, just hoping for the right card. Super tactical and strategic. 😂

​@@Xoulrath_ I've also responded to you elsewhere that you can go read. But the short version is that's the game. MOST card games have discard mechanics. It's up to you which deck you decide to play knowing control is weak to it, how you build your deck, and how you play against it. Didn't seem to be a problem for the R/A players that beat it consistently at the highest level of competition. The deck doesn't always open the god hand, doesn't always manage to discard your entire hand, and R/A plays the most draw power and has the best draw power cards in the game. Must just be a player skill issue.

Yeah, but Ruby Amethyst players remove every card the opponent plays every single turn and they're DEFINITELY not keeping players from playing the game. See, you got to tap your ink and see it hit the field before it was instantly destroyed, you totally got to play the game. lmfao

​@@crazysqurielyou can so pathetically easily play around Ame/R. 😂 You can NOT play around Bucky, unless you're in Steel and use AoE like Swords - OR - Late game, you can use cards like Be Prepared in Ruby, or Tremaine effects with only Bucky on board. By that point, it can often be too late The issue with Bucky, that SO MANY players seem to not understand, is that Bucky gives you a free discard for every single character that you would be playing anyway. So when you play the Diablo on turn 2, you wanted to play it, you wanted to shift it, and you wanted it to be sideways to draw you a card during your opponent's turn. Now, you force an opponent to discard a card on turn TWO, for doing something that you wanted to do anyway. It's pathetically easy to do, and massive value. It snowballs from there, and good luck winning a game where your opponent gets the god hand and turn 2 play of plays. As already discussed in the video, the mulligan system, aka Alter, in Lorcana, is ridiculously broken beyond belief. I'm all for better hands for both players, and I'm all for really aggressive mulls that help that happen. But when you can literally get a hand that doesn't have want you want at all, put all 7 cards back, and then get a fresh 7, BEFORE shuffling those cards back in, you are LITERALLY digging through 1/4th of your deck and seeing 14 cards. That kind of consistency would be fine, IF both players actually got to play the game. So yeah, Ame/R allows you to play the game. If you aren't skilled enough to have an idea of what your opponent will play when the decklists are mostly the same, and the cards are known, then that's a you problem.

​@@Xoulrath_ Tell me you've only ever played MTG without telling me. I've played many games with the same generous mulligan system and it doesn't break the game. Requiring 3 specific cards and 1 semi specific card out of 8-9 cards (depending on whether you went 1st or 2nd and even with potentially seeing 7 more) is much more difficult than you seem to think it is. If you're lucky it happens maybe 1 out of every 5-6 games. Yes, Bucky is probably the most efficient discard card that gains value over time, but it is far from overpowered. Cards that deserve nerfs or bans are ones that are disproportionately winning games and the data shows the exact opposite of that for Bucky. Yes, it was a tier 1 deck that had good performance, but it was not out performing the other tier 1 decks. The control archetype has dominated for 3 sets and was still in contention for best deck of set 4 and the second a fast midrange deck started competing you all threw the biggest fit and complained about the deck being too strong until the dev's held your hand and forcibly removed your competition. Hyper aggro can't even compete against the control in this game because it has by far the most efficient and value gaining cards in the game. You wanna cry about Bucky as a control player but don't even bat an eye at the fact you have the 2 best 3 drops in the game in Fox and Sisu, have the best location in the game with Castle, have the best draw power in the game with Friends and Rabbit, have the biggest stats in Maui that is pseudo removal, have the best removal in the game as Medusa who is removal attached to a 4/4 body and Be Prep which is the only board wipe. Yeah, Bucky was definitely the problem even though R/A won the Ft Worth DLC against the "overpowered" Bucky. If you couldn't beat it with the best cards in the game, it must just be a you problem.

I completely disagree with this every single deck in the meta changed significantly because of the emerald steel discard deck

​@@OrionTCGs I completely disagree. Red purple was way more of a problem than bucky. Bucky wasn't the problem amber/emerald can discard at a high rate and see your opponents hand on a regular basis. People didn't know how to play against bucky. And instead of learning they complained. But the true problem is diablo. Just like max c was bad and banned for a long time in Yu-Gi-Oh.

​@@taylerragle170Diablo actually isn't an issue. Diablo without Bucky makes it so that you just grt the card back that you pitched to shift him. With Bucky, you also force your opponent to discard, which outs you at plus one. Normally I don't put too much thought into card advantage, but when it is that large a difference from the second turn of the game, then something is wrong. Additionally, you mention players not learning how to play against E/St, yet there really isn't much to play against. If you've got removal for Diablo, then that's nice, but Diablo already started the snowball effect, and Bucky still lurks. Playing your hand to the board, the only actual strategy that you can do against an aggressive discard deck, just sets you up to be hit by Steel removal. People constantly complain about Ame/R and it feels like the players that do, have never actually played against control decks. Ame/R is extremely linear, or at least it was prior to set 4. It opened up a bit with the addition of Brawl and BKU. But even so, you know what to expect with the deck. At least you have cards to deal with it. With the E/St list, it's watching your opponent play Solitaire while you hope for a topdeck that can do something. Horrible game design.

@@Xoulrath_ take diablo out. Then e/s is top decking as well. Any red deck beats bucky. Ink every turn be prepared on turn 7. Steel also removes bucky with grab your sword or avalanche. Grab your sword can be played on turn 2 or 3 with some decks. Diablo keeps your hand full and able to find floodborns. Purple can draw enough to out pace buck and so can s/s. Buckys static of winning was only like 40 percent of the time on average in the meta we were in.

@OrionTCGs I didn't love or hate him. Only had 1 to 2 people play him in my area. I actually didn't like saphire decks.
