How to: Build an Animated Stair Text Effect, in Webflow (no custom code)
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.3 года назад
Hi everyone, here is an animated stair text effect I created in Webflow without using any custom code. The link to the cloneable is here: webflow.com/website/Animated-Stair-Text-Effect Sorry for the audio quality I didn't realise the mic would pick up so much of the typing sound and tried to fix it (unsuccessfully!)
Comparing the 1996 & 2021 Space Jam posters | a Graphic Designer's perspective

The 90s classic Looney Tunes / live action / sports comedy mash up we all know and love is getting a sequel! Space Jam: a New Legacy comes out on the 16th of July 2021, so obviously I need to analyse and compare the poster design from 1996 to now! A movie remake or sequel is kind of like a rebrand - most of the time you want to tap into the nostalgia and sentiments of the initial film to bring ...

If you're not a hardcore animator but you've been dabbling in After Effects and Lottie, to give your Webflow sites some extra spice, then you might have come up against the task of importing Illustrator vectors into After Effects. Luckily it's really not hard at all anymore, but there's two ways to do it. So I made a video outlining each route and the pros and cons of each. If you'...

Impromptu designer desk tour: A very brief look at what's on my desk
I'm in late 2024 and am using RUclips, which is now using a neumorphic design
Any way to add that class in the lottie file without AfterEffects?
I get that people like Elementor & all of these new platforms but seriously none of them have nearly as much market share as Wordpress and all I care about is where am I going to get the most opportunities.
For Photoshop Which one would you suggest?
thanks
Thanks a lot great video! to the point. Just subscribed. I would like to build a website in a a week, where I would like to upload thousands of 3-10 second videos. Just wondering can I do it myself as someone with some experience in building 3 websites in Shopify and 2 websites with Wordpress?
I'm looking for someone to build my website for me as i find it all very complicated, even with the amazing elementor! if your interested let me know as it would be much appreciated
Awesome! Does this work with Webflow Interactions as well?
Yes it does! If you animate the font color with Webflow interactions it will change any child element that's set to currentColor.
can't get the CMS list item to work... :( Did anybody get this working and can give some advice?
how is that effect done? when you open the menu the links inside appear to be fixed.
It is almost the end of 2023, and I learned about this.... yesterday. I love the concept; it's the cleanest approach to UIs I've seen in a long time. I thought Apple's skeuomorphic UI was awful (I much preferred Microsoft's Metro, but their whole mobile tech strategy was famously ill-fated, and Metro was a poor fit for the desktop), and I often find modern flat UIs too colorful and toy-like. Neumorphism has the kind of serious minimalism I want in UIs, while at the same time seeming almost ethereal.
Thanks for the valuable resources. Please start creating content again
Thank you ❤Glad you found it useful! We plan to start creating again! Got a little busy with project work.
Magic Mouse right? Compact and I use the pad surface a lot, with one finger or two. I get it the charging is a pain in the back, but you can get use to that.
thank you so much for the awesome video, subscribed!
Thanks for the sub, and for the kind words! We have resources here too if you need help: www.dunclyde.com/resources - Eilidh
This video is biased
I disagree 😅
A big help this, thank you!
Glad it helped!
so helpful thank you 🥺
I've used and abused the magic mouse 2 for some years now. The ergonomics are awful, really really awful, and my hand isn't even big. I don't know how a big dude would manage to work with that thing for extended periods of time. That being said, No other mouse offers the same experience and speed when navigating a big canvas in several directions (say Illustrator, Figma, Adobe XD, etc). I've been using the MX Master 2S for a few days now and even thought the ergonomics a dream come true, and you can indeed map a ton on functions into the several buttons, the scrolling wheels having nothing on the smooth scrolling surface on the Magic mouse. Also, it is incredibly sturdy. The Magic mouse 2 I got from my last employer has seen rough times, and still looks and works as new. My personal Magic mouse is almost 11 years old and although it has some connectivity issues (due to old blutooth tech), the mouse as such is still in its prime. I'll stick to the magic mouse for canvas work, and use the other for regular things or coding (I'm both UX designer and developer).
I agree! The Magic Mouse is durable and makes navigation really smooth and efficient, but the big drawback is the ergomonics. I recommend getting your hands on a Magic Trackpad to use alongside the MX, it makes navigating a dream, with the added bonus of the super functional MX. - Eilidh
🎉🎉🎉🎉
I have to say. Outside of the smooth scroll, the apple mouse really isn't that great. I would still give the build quality and materials to the Logitech mouse. Plastic is not a bad thing in mice. They do this on purpose to cut back on weight. The Logitech also uses rubber which is a huge bonus. The next thing I would say is aesthetics shouldn't be ranked so highly in your list of things to discuss. Aesthetics for peripherals can always be changed. Use what is best. If you really wanted to have a great keyboard, you would probably find you prefer keyboards other than the Apple keyboard anyways which would mean you'd have color options.
The materials on the Logitec feel very high end compared to other mice in the market, but with daily use I don't find they are as durable as the Magic mouse. They discolour and there is a sheen on the previously matt buttons. This doesn't affect use though obviously! On the keyboard topic, we could really get into mechanical keyboards but that is a video for another day!
WeWeb vs WebFlow please
I did a lottie a year or two ago and forgot to convert my illustrator layers to shapes, thank you so much I was an hour into this problem and while the problem wasnt exactly the same, you reminded me that I needed to do that. You saved me a lot of time
Why is neumorphism called "neu" "morphism"?
huge help, thank you for this
Awesome, glad it helped you Caleb!
Hello! I want to offer my clients websites made through webflow, but I don't know how I could make the offer so that it would be profitable for both the client and me. would an idea be an installation fee, site creation and then a monthly subscription?
Yes that would work, typically we work like this: First, we bill the site creation fee, which covers the strategy, design and webflow build. Second, we bill a monthly fee for the Webflow hosting, enough to cover the Webflow fee, plus some extra to cover our time answering client questions. Third we offer an optional retainer for clients who would like ongoing work done to their site. Hope this helps!
@@oldbonesmcgee Of course it helps and thank you very much for your time. 🥰
Nothing beats the wacom tablet experience. I aint going back to mouse ever.
This video is pretty old comparing where Elementor is now especially if you use their Hosting and Plugin together.
Some good points, but mostly a bad video for somebody looking for a good answer to the question.
i know 2 other youtubers using the exact same intro music 😂, makes me wonder where it comes from
Haha, it's from the RUclips Audio Library, but I'm working on writing a little custom audio sting for the intro because we're about to start video production again :)
@@DesignBreak Its kinda catchy and i like it and dont worry probably nobody will come across these youtubers, one is a german politican and the other a us "business" youtuber :D
I have only doodled around in webflow so far, but i like it already more because i have the feeling i have full control over everything. When u said some widgets in elementor sometimes dont do or look what you want them to do or look like, i had to think of the accordion which has the first item open and you cant change that, you have to write custom css/js and then it still opens for a brief moment before js is loaded 🤯 also i read in webflow you can export clean html/css/js code, which i find quite interesting for small static sites which would in this particular case make hosting alot cheaper compared to wp, i tried a feature like this on figma and it was a huge disappointment so far webflow seems to give one so much more freedom about everything
Yes for sure! Lots of frustrations like that using pre-built widgets in Elementor. The limitation is that you can't export sites with a CMS obviously, but for small static sites it does generate clean code. We've actually built a front-end for a web app in Webflow that was handed off to a developer to make into a full app. They confirmed the code was clean and well structured.
@@DesignBreak You are not right about cms export that is also possible, i looked that up too, i searched for "webflow to wordpress" and a guy showed up showing a tool called udesly i think and apparently its integrated with webflow and wordpress, at the moment i cant check this but i bookmarked it, it seems very promising. I know that clients might not care about the webflow hosting price, but when it comes to being hosted on us servers, its tricky with german datapolicies laws. This is the video i found. ruclips.net/video/EjuKKCsTmPM/видео.html
@@JustAn0therSoul Ah yes, you can use something like Udesly to move to WordPress, however then you have to use WordPress 😬 But yes the EU data policies are something Webflow are aware of and they are bringing an EU data center online very soon.
For 25 years in the world of 2D and 3D design and about a hundred mice that I have tested, the buttons above and below the thumb proved to be the most practical feature (it would be perfect to have another button for the index finger, next to the wheel). Ergonomics and functionality of these mice is what suits me: Delux M910 (wired only, no longer on sale) and White Shark MIYAMOTO.
Yes! The thumb buttons really help speed up workflows. I've never tried the White Shark, but it looks comfortable - it's nice that has a thumb rest like the MX does.
If you export Webflow Download to Netlify with a VERY QUICK zip upload, hosting is free and SSL secure. Costs nothing.

Good job! God bless you. Thank you
I was praying the music would end but couldn't stick around long enough to find out.
I use both Webflow and Oxygen builder now, both are awesome and cover the needs of any client request! I do like and use Elementor for fast projects.
can you do one with oxygen builder in mind
It's been a year. We need more of these!
Hi Jai, we're actually gathering the ideas we've had for some new videos so stay tuned, we have more coming very soon. Thank you for the interest in our channel!
oops, had spotify playing on the bg, lol

Have u tried editorX ? Would really like to hear your opinion on that....
At this point anything would be better than flat design.
For 20 bucks each month you can generate a lot of css html and js code Is less than .7 💵 per day. Why everybody talk about webflow cost. Pay and export the code and then incorporate aditional functions For .7 each day
hi. is your agency's website built on webflow
Hi Elnur, yes our website is built on Webflow, and all the websites in our portfolio are also all built on Webflow too :)
thanks this is perfect!
I am having trouble with shape. I add path, stroke and trim paths but they are not showing up on the Lottie preview. Would there be a solution for that?
Thanks so much for the effort! you really helped me make a decision about my platform choice.
Glad I could help! Good luck with it!
You can host webflow anywhere. It exports out all the code if you want.
I think your intro music is the deepest, crispist, and widest sonicly I have heard. Nice Job.
i need some help with my website design, could you spare a bit of time to answer a couple questions?
