no the TRS cable that goes between the VENTRIS and the expression pedal powers the expression pedal off the VENTRIS. Pretty standard with most expression pedals you don't use a normal guitar cable you use a TRS expression pedal cable. They are cheap and easy to find. and yeah don't have to power it ! Cheers

@@PMTluke Whoa. I just figured you'd hook it up with a regular patch cable. So TRS cables are special type of cables? I need to do research.

Too bad about the AKAI Vari Way messing up! Has a really cool sound. Source Audio has a newer smaller pedal people love but the Pro Poly Mod Filter has a lot going on that is super cool with the presets and flexibility. These are def 2 of my favorite Digital envelope filter pedals for sure. I love the AW 3 with an expression pedal as an actual wah wah pedal and then it does all the other cool stuff with out without the expression pedal.

@PMTluke I plan to fix it. Still use it for recording. So far the Source Audio Poly Mod Filter pro is doing the job well.

Probably could have turned on the light but I described the chords the best I could and it's pretty easy to see and hear what is going on. If you don't have some knowledge of chords I guess it could be hard to get anything out of this. Sorry this did nothing for you. Yeah for good guitar lessons beginner or more advanced check out TOMO FUJITA as his channel is a professional Berklee school of music teacher 30 years channel. Back when I made this video I hadn't taken any classes at Berklee yet in theory so I was limited in my vocabulary calling it a "triangle" chord :) I had a laugh at that myself when I re-watched this after I saw your comment :) Cheers

Yeah a lot of people have mentioned this on numerous demos I'll try to keep my picking hands way further away from the condenser mics on my camera. they pick up everything ! yeah I don't like to use a snark :) I prefer my pedal tune as well however I play clean a lot funky and jazz and a good compressor ...sometimes I just have to snark :) I don't like to but you know I do when I need a compressor ! dirt and delay are my can't go withouts :) I mean I can but its really a different thing with no overdrive and no delay :) my "go to" effects ! They are both very cool !! TC brings a lot to the table in a small box stereo ins and outs @ an affordable price with the Flashback 1 and 2. TIMELINE is arguably best with the presets that I really enjoy and are very easily tweakable to there sweet spot without "computer programing-esque" menu diving :) A lot of very use-able delay sounds in both units. I like to use my TIMELINE more in the studio on recordings and when I play nicer venues. I like to play my flashback and BOSS tera echo for the basement party/barroom floor/open jam type of gigs. MXR Carbon Copy mini (analog delay) is another one of my favorite delay pedals to use live on my mini board for smaller jams. Thanks for stopping by ! Cheers-LUKE

I was just borrowing this pedal off pedal genie years ago trying it out. I don't actually own this pedal. Timeline is the only one if the Stryfecta large box units I bought after trying them through Pedal Genie. I did love a lot of the sounds in this pedal...this one being one of them. hope you tweak this preset and get it where you need it. I believe this is a factory preset it comes with like my TIMELINE and you just tweak the parameters to where your ear hears you want them to be. I did figure out when I got my TIMELINE brand new that the awesome sounds in the one I borrowed off pedal Genie were not what came with mine as factory presets. I have to tweak parameters in each preset to get them to that perfect sweet spot. it's not crazy menu diving or anything. If I had my Mobius id 100 % map it out for you. Thanks Peace-Luke

awesome thanks for the word this was my 1st impression of the pedal when borrowing it from "Pedal Genie" but years later I do own a VENTRIS because I loved it so much and I honestly haven't used it with the expression pedal yet ...since ive owned one :) but seeing this video comment is making me get it out and try your reccomendations immediately. Life is too short to not enjoy the expression features of the Source Audio VENTRIS proper ! thanks/Cheers! -Luke

Yes definitely in my opinion extremely tweak able envelope filter/phaser pedals like the Source audio Pro Poly Mod Filter into reverb and delay can make some very cool ambient sounds for sure!
