Sermon | At the World's Lowest Point | Matthew 3:13-17
Always a blessing to worship God in the beauty of holiness among my brothers and sisters of the Father's eternal family.
Catholic of the Roman rite, thank you for informing people of the history of this important affirmation of the Holy Trinity Father. I love how much our faiths share in common. May God bless you sir.
Wonderful service, hearing the story of the family of God throughout the ages and into a bright future. Humanity's sin, God's promised redemption, the long awaited fulfillment of that promise in the person and work of Jesus Christ, and our patient, yet eager, expectation of his return to wipe away every tear and bring a final end to pain and sorrow. If there is not God, there is no comfort for pain. But Christ did come and he was raised for us and for our salvation. Let us rejoice that there is comfort for pain and forgiveness of sins and let us look with expectant hope to our Lord and Redeemer.
The church militant joined in worship around the throne of our God with the church triumphant today at New Creation Anglican. Let us persevere, knowing that as we run the race of faith through this valley of tribulation and tears a great cloud of witnesses including many whom we dearly loved in this life are cheering us on toward the finish line. For Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb! Blessed are they who have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Reference, right doctrine, and solid biblical preaching. This is how the church will survive a Post-Christian America. It will endure by God's promise as a muscular church, equipped for the times.
Biblical, Liturgical, Sacramental, Confessional, and Gospel focused. Here Christ is present for us through his hoy Word and the Holy Supper. Here God himself is present, for us, he is on our side against sin, the devil, and world to forgive our sins and sustain our faith through all the days of this transitory life. Amen.
Worship the Lord in the beauty of his Holiness.

I so appreciate all your videos. I don't know why you don't have more subscribers! Anyway, thanks for all your hard work. I was born and brought up an Anglican, in the UK where most people are Anglican, but I never really looked deep into my faith until now. You and your lovely family (and Church) are teaching me a lot.
Jesus was using hyperbole when he said "call no man father" - directing it towards Jewish leaders who loved their exalted status, their pride in their place of honour at feasts, being greeted in the market places etc (Matt 23:6-7).Jesus is not forbidding us to call men “fathers” who actually are such-either literally or spiritually (and Paul entitled himself spiritually as father many times). He is warning people against inaccurately attributing fatherhood-or a particular kind or degree of fatherhood-to those who are not worthy.
A well sourced discussion. Thank you.
Very good message !
Thank you so much for streaming my Uncle John's funeral, as I was unable to attend. He was a wonderful man and I will miss him. It's obvious from all who attended that he was much loved by many others as well.
It is so inspiring to listen to your sermons. Thank you Rev Fr Justin.
Thank you Rev Fr Justin for your sermon that has such clarity. I see the text of this Gospel from a new perspective. AMEN!
How many christians in their twilight years can truthfully say the prayer of Simeon today? Lord that we may come out of the darkness of our life into the LIGHT of JESUS CHRIST. Thank you for this sermon.
I’m blessed😇
Thanks Justin! This was helpful information!
I have never heard Protestants preach this part in the BIBLE

I feel like Psalm Tone 2 is even simpler than this and more beautiful more devotional. It's may be just my personal taste.
Nice! If you're talking about NCC's version of Tone 2, that's a good one. But, the goal is to marry the tone and the psalm, so even there, Tone 2 doesn't quite work for everything (a good example would be the penitential psalms). Glad you're singing the scriptures, Corey!
Praying for you all!

Nap, you say? Well, God does give to his beloved sweet sleep (Ps. 127:2). If this video did that for you, so be it!😀

I am a liberal pastor and I would not say the Magnificat was 'lifted' but rather that it connects the prophecies and points the way to Jesus. Let us not fight among ourselves in the Body - there is so many ways we are similar (minus those on the edges). Let us rather serve God's people- surely we have more than enough to do.
Starr (or Cross!): Thanks for commenting. More than anything, I hope that the sermon helped you to exalt, love, embrace, and trust Christ. But, you've raised some points. So, a few thoughts/responses: 1) I'm glad you don't believe the Magnificat was lifted! But, one could believe that it connects the prophecies and points to Jesus while still believing it to be essentially a fabrication of the Early Church. The historical-critical method used by Liberal Protestantism did just this and greatly undermined the authority of Holy Scripture. So, I think my assessment in the sermon is fair. 2) Why/how is "liberal" a desirable (I want to say, legitimate) label? I mean liberal in the theological sense. Despite what I've said above, I typically try to eschew liberal vs conservative labels, preferring "orthodox" instead. Orthodoxy entails a vital connection with the Faith of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, submission to Scripture, the Creeds, and (for Anglicans like me) the 39 Articles, etc. 3) You mentioned in-fighting. The idea that liberals aren't actually and mainly the ones doing the fighting for the "change" they want to see in the church is patently false. Exhibit A: the last 50 or so years of The Episcopal Church. Exhibit B: the current state of the United Methodist Church. While it is true that as a priest, I took a vow to "contend for the faith once and for all delivered," (Jude 1:3) that is a vastly different kind of fighting, sprung from entirely different motivations. QUESTION. What is your Name? Answer. N. or N. N. Question. Who gave you this Name? Answer. My Sponsors in Baptism; wherein I was made a member of Christ, the child of God, and an inheritor of the kingdom of heaven. Question. What did your Sponsors then for you? Answer. They did promise and vow three things in my name: First, that I should renounce the devil and all his works, the pomps and vanity of this wicked world, and all the sinful lusts of the flesh; Secondly, that I should believe all the Articles of the Christian Faith; And Thirdly, that I should keep God's holy will and commandments, and walk in the same all the days of my life. Question. Dost thou not think that thou art bound to believe, and to do, as they have promised for thee? Answer. Yes, verily; and by God's help so I will. And I heartily thank our heavenly Father, that he hath called me to this state of salvation, through Jesus Christ our Saviour. And I pray unto God to give me his grace, that I may continue in the same unto my life's end. 1928 Prayer Book
The Three Creeds, Nicene Creed, Athanasius's Creed, and that which is commonly called the Apostles' Creed, ought thoroughly to be received and believed: for they may be proved by most certain warrants of holy Scripture. 39 Articles of Religion

I really asked a lot from Your wife to be my sponsor, without realizing it. Thank you very much ma'am.
Never mind chants and songs...... Why has the Church remained silent about 9 million UK babies being killed in the womb in the past 50 years.......
Stuart, we are agreed on the need for the Church's voice regarding the sanctity of life. Our parish building is across the street from the abortion clinic in our community. We actively support the Hagerstown Area Pregnancy Clinic, and are active in the pro-life arena in other ways, too. I was pleased to take part in the March for Life (USA, obviously), and believe pastors are actively called to speak up in any way they can. - Justin+ ncchagerstown.org/2022/01/25/marching-for-life-for-the-very-first-time/
