This kids is what we experienced in the 80's. Live music. You had to go out and play your instrument and sing every night when on tour. Very few to no over-dubs / backing tracks is what a live show is.

Here's my bottom line about Michael Anthony. He is, and for the past half century has been, among the very top rock bassists on the planet. Van Halen would not have become the legend that it is were it not for him, both because of his extraordinarily powerful bass playing AND his incredibly rich background vocals.

Johnny Deep is a poser, not a musician. Jeff Beck and the rest of the band members are, of course, outstanding. As an actor I think Deep is great, but as a guitarist I don't think he's good. His fame as an actor attracts audiences to the clubs, which is good for business. 😃😃😃

Like most renditions of this revered song, after the iconic into riff they completely stray from the song Hendrix made famous on his 3rd studio LP and at Woodstock in '69. The guitarist has chops (although he's no Jimi Hendrix) and his riffs don't duplicate or replicate what Hendrix played.

I feel honored and blessed that I was able to see one of the last shows Jeff played in 2022 at the Hard Rock Sacramento , the critics and naysayers seemed to be solely focused on the Johnny Depp portion of the show in which mattered not at all to me, I went to see the legend that I hadn’t seen since 2007 and before that 1989 Guitar Shop tour with SRV and just as was then when he came onto the stage and became one with everybody in attendance it didn’t matter if it was 500 people or 10,000 people he didn’t seem to be anything but a real person who came to share a gift of music with every single one of them, there will never be another quite like him, a style all his own and a sound only he could create… it was only 2 months ago but now seems like a lifetime, Thank you Mr. Beck for sharing your gift with the world you will be sadly missed but your music will live on forever, here is that 2nd to last night a brilliantly played by 78 year young Jeff “So we’ve ended as Lovers” RIP Jeff Beck thank you for all you did
