Easter commemorates the "Good News" (Gospel) and is when the Lord Jesus Christ rose from the dead three days later just as he said he would before his death! This event was not only witnessed by Jesus' disciples after Jesus appeared to them on several occasions but by a group of five hundred people who saw him at one time. We celebrate God's triumphant grace over sin on Easter Sunday to all who believe in Jesus for their salvation thus receiving God's acceptance into Heaven. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
