before the race, I was going through drivers stats and I feel like I can officially say that Christopher Bell is cursed at MIS. No finishes in the top 10 (best of 13th x3), I believe he now has 2 DNFs, didnt add to his laps led total which sits around 35. Interestingly though, besides his 2 DNFs, he's finished 13th the aforementioned 3 times, and 17th once. If he keeps on this trend, hes gonna consistently finish mid-teens or get wrecked out.

So to give you a correct understanding of driver pay in Nascar. Drivers don't earn money off any individual race that includes the Daytona 500. They are paid an annual salary based off the team they race for and the ability and tenure, also a lot of drivers have to bring their own sponsorship to a team. That said they are awarded team bonuses and rewards for meeting certain goal criteria

You can make statistics look anyway you want. Your numbers are based on points both bowman and elliot missed time. If you want a more accurate number take average finish

Chase won Hendrick a championship; my eyes he earned his contract. Now Bowman on the other hand, has under preformed since securing his new contract. I’m sure the injury to his neck has definitely affected him, but Hendrick negotiated the contract AFTER the injury knowing it would be a long term issue.

You have to take in account that Bowman and Elliott both missed races due to injuries. If you Look at Chase Elliott’s average finish for the year, he still did very well.

Chase earned it. Dillon not so much. It’s about preforming. Chase does for the most part. And Dillon has not for a long while.

There's a wide variety of names that have done the F1 to NASCAR crossover and a lot of them are sort of surprising to newer fans. Back before the Concorde Agreement, drivers would just drive whatever anywhere in the world as long as there was a check involved. Among those who've done it: -Pedro Rodriguez: The most famous Mexican in F1 before Checo, his best finish in a NASCAR race was a 13th at the Daytona 500 -Innes Ireland: Won the 1961 USGP at Watkins Glen and finished 27th in the 1967 Daytona 500 -Vic Elford: Mostly a british sportscar driver and rally racer, but did score points in F1 and ran the Daytona 500 -Jackie Oliver: Founded the Arrows team, two podiums, a 24 Hour of Le Mans win, and finished 4th at Dover in a Junie Donleavy car -David Hobbs: More known as a sportscar racer, Hobbs wound up liking America enough that he stayed. Never won any NASCAR events he entered but he did managed to score a lot of gigs as a color commentator in the states announcing for every imaginable form of motorsports After '82, the names slowed to a trickle and usually comprised of Aussie Supercar drivers looking for a bigger paycheck or something to do in February or sports car drivers being brought in as "ringers" to take the place of bad road racers. It picked up again after the boom though, and my two favorites in this category have to be Narain Karthikeyan (who also managed an F1 to NASCAR to F1 again career) and Nelson Piquet Jr. The latter had a pretty decent career in trucks but I think the stink of Crashgate kept any teams in Xfinity or Cup from seriously considering moving him up.

It is hard to sell out because there are 6+ big name/race tracks within 4 hours of it. I live in the heart of nascar land 7 tracks within 4 hours Rockingham 80 mins away. I don't think it makes a top series appearance again anytime soon.
