Good ol' Pecos River! Fish on!

Was on the Pecos a week ago Saturday and had the river to myself...it was amazingly quiet and the fish were "slow and low" but they were there! Love the winter for the peace. 😊 Simms makes a great pair of half finger/mitten gloves that I've used for years and love them! Be safe and tight lines!

Nitrile gloves will keep them dry, and a bit warmer.

Thank you for sharing. I went looking around Pecos on Friday. A lot of ice everywhere. I did not fish as I wanted to just go for a drive and look. You probably had an ice chunk hit your leg. Some of the fish had been right next to the edge of the ice. Villanueva has been doing really well the past couple weekends. Thanks again!

I'm going up to the Chama River below the Abiquiu dam tomorrow, and this video is getting me pumped! We'll see what comes of the trip, but any day is a good day out on the river. What nymphs were you having the most success with at the Chama?

You can loosen the main reel nut slightly to pull the reel apart enough to put the line where it needs to be then retighten.
