Serial Dilutions Part 3: Examples
Просмотров 583 года назад
Now that we know how to calculate serial dilutions, here are a few examples we will work through together. Please note: the very last dilution we discuss (1:625), 1/625 is patient serum, not saline. 624/625 is saline. Sorry for the error.

Thanks good explanation
What she is not saying out is the negative and positive signs she's writing down on the sheet. How do we know? Line 1 is negative. It's frustrating that she's not teaching how to know what to write. Yellow is positive and?
Here is a link that shows all positive and all negative reactions for the API20E. microbiologyinfo.com/api-20e-test/
Amazing explanation but how do we read the results after 18 to 24hr, im a student and dam i didn't think its gonna be this hard 😅

Can you plz explain wells with underline and vertical line ? How to identify it it's not clearly visible in this video
If you look at the biochemical names, ADH, LDC, ODC, H2S, and URE are all underlined. Those wells get 3 drops of mineral oil. CIT, VP, and GEL are underlined, but also have lines like this around them: |CIT| |VP| |GEL|. Those wells get filled to the very top with inoculum. Here is a very good photo of what the wells with the lines look like: i0.wp.com/microbeonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/API-20-E.jpg?ssl=1
