Gabe Lee - Bach Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major - Prelude
Просмотров 442 месяца назад
A cello beatbox classic I haven’t touched in years: the Prelude to Bach’s 1st Cello Suite, in the style of Kevin Olusola and the Piano Guys. And in Baroque tuning! Great way to learn the art of celloboxing.
Gabe M Lee - Seasons Change (United Pursuit Cello Cover) - Tribute to BU Mustard Seed
Просмотров 554 месяца назад
Hey everyone, this is my arrangement of "Seasons Change" by United Pursuit for cello quartet! This song helped me get through tough transition periods in my life, because it reminded me that throughout the drastic changes life, God's love remains steadfast, even when we can't feel it. I originally arranged this song for SATB for my acapella group BU Mustard Seed, but since there's no quality re...
Gabe M Lee - The Rake (Jacob Szekely cover)
Просмотров 745 месяцев назад
This is a cool blues pizzicato piece written by Jacob Szekely for cello and drums, so I took it upon myself to learn it and turn it into a cello-beatbox piece, entering the wonderful world of blues and its smooth, groovy feel. (I added a few cool instruments to layer it, too.) Hope you enjoy! Original piece: ruclips.net/video/UTvjzKluqWQ/видео.htmlsi=okC2lNwYikBrZ1U5
Gabe Lee - Dvorak Cello Concerto, II. Adagio ma non troppo

This is probably my favorite piece to play right now. It is so beautiful and it just evokes a lot of emotion when I hear the melodies and the timbre of the piece. Whenever I hear and play it, I create imagery in my head and I reminisce on my time in my homeland Taiwan - I’ve associated the structure of the piece with the structure of my trip to Taiwan section by section, essentially making it a...
Gabe M Lee - Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1 (The Supercut)

I started this channel five years ago, when all I had was a cello, Garageband, and a passion to make music. Flash-forward to today, and I have... a cello, Garageband, and a passion to make music. But these past five years have taught me a lot of different musical ideas that I've been able to branch out and explore, like singing and conducting. What better way to celebrate the channel's fifth an...
Shostakovich Cello Concerto No. 1, Mov. 3-4 (for 6 cellos)

After about two and a half years, I have finally finished this passion project! I remember when I first arranged the first movement in November of 2020, still experimenting, not knowing how this journey would turn out. I am so glad to have finally completed this creation and share it to everyone! This is the Cadenza and 4th Movement of the Shostakovich Cello Concerto. Hope you enjoy!
Gabe Lee - Julie-O by Mark Summer (Kevin Olusola Version)

Five years ago, I began learning Kevin Olusola's groundbreaking celloboxing technique (playing cello and beatboxing simultaneously) and I started with this classic. Here's an update. (I had to overdub the beatboxing because you can barely hear it in the original audio.) Recorded in Seully Hall, Boston Conservatory

(And I've improved my form 👍) I'm super glad to have been able to arrange and conduct the Imperial March, the theme of one of my favorite movie characters of all time, Darth Vader! Gabe M. Lee - 10 Years of Cello
Просмотров 3092 года назад
On May 26th, 2012, I embarked on an incredible musical journey with my first cello lesson. While it took a lot of time for me to realize, this cello lesson has shaped me into who I am today and what I plan to do in the future. I'm grateful I persevered in playing the cello and never gave up. Today, May 26th, 2022, I present to you a collection of pieces I've played over the years, one piece for...

the best way to conduct this is to know the score well, then rehearsal it without the score - your expressionistic conducting will lead the orchestra to the beat, for many orchestra players do not follow every beat indicated - the important thing is a clear beat and indicating - don't over do it.

Bravo!!!!! As a conducting student, that's basically what we do in the right hand! It's absolutely astounding that you nailed the danse sacrale. One thing to note is you conduct the 5/16 like you conduct 2/8, so I'd suggest adding a miniflick on the 5 to prove that it is 5, or lengthen the downbeat.

@@gabemlee Thanks! Gee, that Fatova Mingus channel is interesting.... I've seen the London Phil's original, haven't seen any mention of how they produce it, but in some more digging, I didn't know they had a whole playlist of similar stuff. Great resource. Looking at it, I bet that it's all just a lot of manual editing, with some wort of scrolling score app. I know musescore can do something like that as a base, then they add the zooms, animations. Probalby just a matter of doing the work in a video editing suite. Here's London's playlist. ruclips.net/video/HNs4MNH2EMI/видео.html
