Benton County Speedway Compact Mods. These cars had to be built on a compact truck frame. Dad built the car and the engine. He used a Chevy S10 frame and the engine was a 2.5L 4cyl. Chevy engine. Most the other cars were running the 2300 Ford.

What heads and compression are you running sounds strong.
Sorry for the slow response; I didn't see your post. I run 10 to 1, mainly for longevity. When you go above that, the life of the stock block is shortened considerably. I race IMCA Modified, and most people are running the 604 Chevy crate; it had more than enough power to compete. I have RHS steel heads, which are hard to find because they are no longer being made. It was a Lunati Voodoo solid lifter cam in this engine. At that time, they had three grinds to choose from, and I used the middle one. I probably still have the cam card somewhere. It was a good runner, for sure.

You are right... They are saying we will have new grand stands possibly by June 1st. If I am not mistake they are even adding suits. I'm looking forward to a great season for both the fans and drivers.
Of course, this was taken before a big wind blew the roof off of the old grandstand, I cannot wait for a real nice one to go up.
