Hi. I own the EDT old bottle. I have about ten bottles of Guerlain. I bought them on E-Bay when I first started a collection of perfume bottles including vintage bottles. I now have a large collection which I enjoy wearing every day. I have not gotten tired of this hobby, and I like having part of the past. Take Care. 😊

I used to have the original version and bottle and I used it until I finished the entire bottle in 2007! To me it smelled like pears.

Classique 2017 edp version is it discontinued?

I just wanted to say I found your channel not too long ago and something about your video, the way you film them, your set up, the decor in your room send me straight back to early 2000 it's so sweet and nostalgic, cozy and comforting and you talk with such enthusiasm and passion it's such a delight to watch and listen to

My mom had a bottle of the original 90's EDT in the early 2000's and as a child growing up I would always go into the bathroom to sneak sprays on myself. Whenever my mom wore this fragrance it made me think she was the most beautiful and elegant woman to walk this earth lol. Since then I've grown into an adult myself, I've been searching for a perfume to give me the same effect that the original EDT did, but was always disappointed that I couldn't have this exact perfume for myself. But by chance today I stumbled across the new Champs Elysees EDT on a department store website, and just placed my order about 5 minutes ago. I was hesitant to buy it because I was scared the new formulation would smell nothing like the old, which is why I'm ao thankful for you making this review!!! I'm so excited! <3

This is the original hypnotic poison it has been reformulated over the years but this is the 1998 cult classic Just delicious 😅❤

I appreciate that you made this video. You explained everything perfectly. Alien is my favorite perfume of all time. I’ve tried many other perfumes, I continually try other perfumes to see if there are any that will make me fall in love at first sniff like I did with Alien, and to no avail. I have a few other fragrances that are considered not as modern that I know & love such as Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door, Burberry London… but my love for Alien will be forever. The new formulation changed the fragrance a lot. The longevity is poor, the sillage is not even there after maybe a couple of hours, and it smells more fresh than it does rich & warm. The old formulation will always be the best version of this perfume.

The new one is more green and less sweet smh. Plus it has fewer notes compared to the old one.

This is a fragrance I have been wanting since 20 years ago, but never got around to ge as it is so hard to get by here in Norway! Your awsome review made me want it more now, lol, I love fragrances as it is my therapy! And I don't like to just have one. I mean, I am in the mood for different things on different days! Sweet one day, fresh the next, lol😄

It’s so interesting how everyone’s nose picks up different notes and everyone’s experience so unique! It just goes to show that you must try it yourself, sample it or get a travel spray, before blind buying any fragrance. My first impression was that it’s too light, but my travel spray macerated pretty nicely and I ended up getting a full bottle recently. I’ve been really enjoying it and got compliments too. 😊 I have also tried a travel spray of La Belle before and something about it was so off that I ended up returning it. To my nose, Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar doesn’t have much resemblance to La Belle.

Please tell me where I can purchase the original alien...I only have the reformulated version

I'm glad you like the reformulation. I have 1/2 in my old bottle purchased in 1996 and decided to get the new one to see how they compare. My question to the perfume makers is why, just why reformulate a masterpiece and leave out half of the ingredients? I sincerely wish that they wouldn't. In fact, they should call this new one with another name since they are two different animals. I wear vintage fragrance exclusively since I don't like fruity, fizzy, sugar waters. And when I find a reformulated version of an old perfume I get a lot of questions for the manufacturers: Did some of the original ingredients were determined to be cancer causing? are the original ingredients more expensive now? Did they sell the name to another house? do they think that we are stupid? Please forgive me. That's the good thing about old and ornery people like me, we have the money we didn't have when we were young, and I wish people would just cut the hash and give us quality.

I'm guessing you didn't get the original Alien because it is NOT a safe fragrance...at all.

I agree I really like the opening for this perfume but not the dried down it's just not what it was promoting

I got mine today in the mail!!👌 I'm flabergasted, and doing Back Flips over here!! I need like 1000 more bottles, and spray it all over my Bed & my Dog? Don't be comparing it to this, that and the other? This perfume is in a class all it's own! Mona knows how to do it right..this is a Master blend, wonderful Perfume! I can describe it as a Candy-like, Sofisticated floral Women's perfume! 🩷🩷🩷🍬🍬🍬🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

I love all the Scandals. I still need to find the Scandal Gold one as that one was more available in middle eastern markets but you can still find it online. Also there is a brand new one that just came out Scandal Absolu. This one the Le Parfum is really nice and I need to start using it again. It does remind me of Hypnotic Poison but there's still a difference. The violet didn't really grab me but I'll be looking for it the next time I spray.

to my nose, scandal le parfum as it settles down it resembles dior's hypnotic poison.. i love both & i prefer scandal le parfum over og scandal. By far out of all scandals, scandal by night is my favourite🍯🍯

I made the same mistake to buy the big bottle out of FOMO😭😭 all I smell is sweet patchouli and I hate patchouli 😭😭 thanks for the honest review
