    I've considered getting one of those in the past, but I've heard they aren't too great. I've been using an antique American watchmakers lathe, but I'm needing something with more power and more capacity. Might save up for a "mini lathe" if I find a cheap one that's fairly accurate!

    • @ElectroFriedRiggin
      @ElectroFriedRiggin Месяц назад

      If you're already well aware of how a lathe operates and how to use one then definitely don't get this one if you want one as a project then get this one once I feel that my abilities have surpassed the abilities of the lathe that I currently have then I will invest in a better one

    Hehe! I've often considered motorizing a bicycle, just for the fun/novelty of it, but I don't really have the space or experience for such a build. :p Looks like fun, though! XD

    What motor are you running on that mower?

    • @ElectroFriedRiggin
      @ElectroFriedRiggin Месяц назад

      48 volt nominal Factory rated 1500 watt it works great without getting too hot I drove it around for a while and kept using the back of my hand to touch the motor it gets warm but it doesn't get too hot to touch so it's good enough for this situation but good enough redneck solution anyways

    Need to build a triangulated 4 Link setup for the suspension front and rear that's what I would do.

    • @ElectroFriedRiggin
      @ElectroFriedRiggin 4 месяца назад

      I thought about that but the whole point of going with a solid axle on the front kind of setup was to avoid all of the complexity and parts that could be worn out over time trying to make it more simple but ever since I rode my other scooter so long and realized I need suspension on this new build I'm trying to incorporate suspension in the simplest way I think I finally settled on a swingarm design a video showing it will be coming out soon

    What motors & drive shafts are those from...How many watts each motor?

    • @ElectroFriedRiggin
      @ElectroFriedRiggin 5 месяцев назад

      Well I would consider these motors and Axle setup with the differential Universal but I believe they're pretty much the same as what's on a lot of all-weather fully enclosed mobility scooters you can get them for pretty much anything basically they're sold as a universal setup you can bolt them on your go-kart your little kids four-wheeler your Mobility Scooter pretty much anything a lot of things come from the factory brand new with these lot of different things

  • @michaelbrinks8089
    @michaelbrinks8089 5 месяцев назад

    Very cool 👍.....If I wasn't sick, to save money on transportation costs. I'd be trying to build my own small inexpensive fuel ⛽ efficient. Or⚡ electrcity efficient, small 2 seated, aerodynamic, fully enclosed transport vehicle.. Then work towards building kits to sell. That can be assembled & made street legal. If the vehicles can be daily driven like a car in rain & cold. Is fun to drive (with one model super easy to drive for dumb people) Once people realize that the car will literally pay for itself. In terms of fuel savings & way lower maintenance costs. People will buy them unless they have kids & need 4+ seater. But would still probably buy it as a second car. People don't need a $30,000 4 seat, big trunk, 4 cylinder, 25mpgs sedan. To commute to work in. Why not buy a $10,000 small 2 seat that can plug-in 🔌 off any 20amp outlet. Or has a 350cc engine that gets 70+ mpgs & will literally pay itself.

      What I'm building is called an all-weather fully enclosed mobility scooter the fact that it looks like a mini Jeep is just for fun to buy one to buy an all-weather fully enclosed Mobility Scooter brand new specifically the queue Runner which is the one I had my eye on for a year or two cost about 8,500 and I still feel like it's not what I want most all-weather mobility scooters don't fit through a door frame if you need to bring them in or live in a situation where you cannot park them outside there's a lot of different reasons for me building my own butt I also just like to build things

    That looks like a 36 volt 500w to 800w direct drive hub motor. They are not wide as the 48v 1000w to 1500w direct drive hub motor. The 48v 1500w to 2000w hub motor are even more wider.

    That's a sweet looking bike! I must have missed something about you selling your van, I haven't seen a video from you in a while. Do you secure your tablet to that amount in any other way? I don't trust that kind of amount with my phones in the car without a rubber band or something holding them in place, because I've had them fall out. With all the power you have in that box you could run a real horn with no problem although you may want a thicker gauge wire. For that matter you could run an LED driving light as a headlight or even mount one in both of those boxes.

    you can wrap a rope around the pull start pulley several times and give a yank... we ran lawn mowers for years with out the pull start piece,, I like the gas tank... I have one of those razor mod scooters I got at goodwill for $15, it needed batteries. Id seen vdo's of adults on them so thought why not,,,,, why not? because I weigh twice what you do... lol.. I flicked the switch and NOTHING, tried shuffling along a little and it kind of tried but... nope... Ive been thinking about buying a 2nd one, welding the 2 backs together and centering a front wheel for a 2 eng 48v trike.....

    • @ElectroFriedRiggin

      Yeah the gas bike wasn't too far gone it was a simple $20 fix and easy to get around without buying the new car I just didn't want to fuss with it anymore I realized I could get by with far less far cheaper and I was more interested in electronics than combustion engines anyways

    you know how to 12v weld, you should be able to weld using the starter battery while the vehicle is running, at least enough to weld the motor mount.. You'd be surprised how many bikes I find on the curb that need little or no work

    • @ElectroFriedRiggin
      @ElectroFriedRiggin 5 месяцев назад

      Well yes you can weld with 12 volts I don't recommend it requires a lot more amps increasing the voltage requires less amps it makes it easier on the wires and the cables and less likely to burn anything up and it makes for a better weld

  • @docink6175

    • @ElectroFriedRiggin
