I never saw you change from cover or to coverstitch. Just showed it sewing. The changing is the hard part. Back and forth.

This is just SO good and easy to use...if you like wearing tee shirts or jersey type fabrics, this is for you.. I have never regretted having mine, it's a good quality machine.

Initially I was frightened to use such a brilliant machine. I had researched all the overlockers and coverstitch machines and really liked the Gloria. A special birthday was coming up and I got my machine rather early but hey ho. 😊 I felt confident when shown how to thread both sides of the machine and then went to a workshop two weeks later. I had never been near an overlocker) coverstitch machine before but then I kept on thinking that I could use it in so many ways. There are so many RUclipsrs out there with brilliant designs using the machine. I hope to go to an all day Babylock session soon. Before looking into the machines, I didn't see the reason for getting one but now I am so excited at being able to have one. Brilliant ideas out there. Thanks for making the overlocker/ coverstitch machine (saving space) . There are pros and cons for having an all in one machine but each to their own. Happy days. 😊

It's no word of exaggeration - all wonderfully true! ATD specifically & Babylock in general FTW! My first and only-ever machine which does a coverstitch is the Gloria (Triumph in the USA); even as a partially-sighted, total beginner, I got perfect coverstitch seams every time. And on the overlocker side: the wave stitch - swoon!

Katy, this is a fabulous video and very helpful to those of us who had to buy sight unseen. I had big problems yesterday when coverstitching some jersey material. I was able to talk to lovely Lucy at Sew Essential, where I bought my machine from and she helped big-time in solving the issue, but each tutorial gives a little more information and is always there to refer back to. More please !!....

Good refresher. Please do more tutorials on the Desire 3. I’d like more on the extra feet, accessories and different types of decorative threads 🧵.

Thank you for this video. I have found it very useful having struggled with the cover lock side. The instruction manual is not clear enough with the basics and I have experienced a lot of problems. I bought my machine from a sewing exhibition a few months ago and the dealer is not near enough to give help. The video is so clear and detailed I am now getting results. Thank you Katy

I've sewn many boxershorts using wide 2 thread ladder stitch instead of traditional 3 or 4 thread overlock stitch. Its less bulky and decorative when using a contrasting thread color.(Stretch fabric). I use this foot to hem the shorts, and "blind-hem" a 2 cm hem with the 2 thread wide ladder stitch. This gives me the same visual result as the rest of the seams. Its definitely not a "blind" hem, but a more decorative stitch than the usual "cover stitch hem". Having some fun with my Gloria :-))

You do not thread the Machines according to the ref. guide? I guess your way is smarter. The referance threading guide seems to show exactly the same picture and data for 2-thread blanket stitch and for 2-thread ladder stitch. Why? The stitches are different?

It would have been better if a camera had been over the needles etc so that you could see a close up view. Especially as it is an expensive brand.
