This deck has gone through a lot of change since Alela first came out. Probably would’ve stuck with Esper enchantress before Sythis was released.

Apocalypseburg is the only really amazing set from the lego movie 2 line though. Overall lego movie 1 had the better sets in general

I just got a Jeweled Lotus for Turn 1 Purp, but put it in another deck. I'm deciding if T1 Purp is worth it since the deck is really more mid-rangey in speed, so rushing him out doesn't really benefit much since I really don't plan to set up a win on T2

I’d say my build is like a 6/10, it doesn’t have enough non combat win cons. I’d be curious if smooth brain edh has built a cedh version.

The truth is that I really like the idea of ​​making a deck to animate with mutate with those beautiful arts of ikoria and with the dark depht it sounds great but I have seen that the ancestral statue and walking ballista combo is usually used. Do you think it would be possible to use that combo to make it more competitive without breaking the synergy of your deck?

I think you could get it to be a fun competitive deck, alternate win cons, fast mana, and a bit more interaction would be my recommendations. My original build was heavy on counterspell interaction to protect the creatures but I went away from that because the play style wasn’t what I wanted from the deck.

Thanks, I use digital to help build decks, mostly to get the land base right, but nothing quite like the feel of real cards.

I only play real mtg, it's a social game, and being digital is just no fun for me

I did a second video where I tried to build the smaller ships, the reason I bought the 2nd kit was because it was only $75 at Walmart. 😃

I totally forgot they used to print alternate instructions, I know they do it with the 3-1 sets currently. They definitely could’ve made this even cooler.

Like the idea, all my good tutors are in my Alela combo deck. When I decide to build a new commander deck I have to base it on the cards still available in my binders and boxes, I don’t share cards between commander decks. Your build is much more competitive for sure.

That’s a fair swap, I think I had simulacrum in there originally because I had a few tutors that put the card on top of library so the card draw helped. Thopter definitely faster mana.

Oh I remember them, the fire rescue teams, Hoth Luke and Han in the freezer, they were dad’s version of elf on the shelf but just for fun anytime of year.

Standard is so dead, to me it has become their digital format. It takes a lot of work to design new sets and cards, they don’t let people try to enjoy them with how quickly they pump out product now.

Mardu can be tough to play but I like this commander a lot.

That’s a great card, it does work well with Zur and you would get 2 tokens each time it attacks if you have 3 opponents. I don’t currently have a copy and the high casting cost could make it tough to play without having ways to cheat enchantments onto the battlefield, possibly a good win con though.

@@acollectorslifeforme4201 would those tokens be creatures? thats really what I'm wondering as i heard if you make a copy of something thats animate d it does not get animated

@@timtrio9862 I can’t find anything specific to those two cards but according to the rules it wouldn’t copy the creature type Zur gives it because it is not part of the original text. Would need opalescence in play to make it work. Legion loyalty is still in a lot of Zur decks it seems.

getting a bunch of extra first chapter triggers still very strong. Eight mana is a huge mana investment though

I have a bunch of smothering tithes but they’re in other decks. Black market is too expensive right now and I typically don’t buy commander deck precon singles. Both are great additions if you wanted to make a more competitive deck.

Makes sense, I forgot Vesuva comes into play as the copy.

I don’t recommend investing in modern magic singles at all. The reprint rate and collector treatments have ruined the value of the higher valued treatments (Ugin, is the best example) masterpiece inventions are the only current example of collectible high value modern MtG cards. (I don’t count Judge foils because of the exclusivity) You’re right about the current market too, great time to buy singles.

All great cards in nice treatments, add those to the pulls you got in your CBB and you’re doing well on this set. Cavern of souls is one of the big hits I want but it’s a tough buy to justify right now.

WOTC put some amazing playable cards in this set, the price of the sealed product is just way to high IMO considering you can buy so many of the alternate versions at very reasonable prices. We all know there’s always a fun experience in just ripping packs but sometimes the price of entry is too much of a gamble.

Really do wish I had gotten 2 sets at retail, having just put the ship together it’s the best pirate ship out there. The Imperial flagship is bigger and better but I don’t count that as a pirate ship.

@@acollectorslifeforme4201 yea. That's understandable. At about 300 for a set today, I couldn't go about getting a second in good conscience... I opted just to get the creator 3 in 1 pirate ship. Although not as good as the barracuda ship, it's a really detailed smaller ship. I paired that ship with the ninjago keepers village without the ninjas and I modded the 2 trees to be like coconut trees like barracuda bay. I used the island minifigs as "native islanders". I know nothing about ninjago tbh. Had a spare row boat and with the pirate and treasure vip add on pack, I got some extra skeletons, shark and more add ons.

@@link3rd ninjago has some cool stuff to incorporate into other themes, I bought some earth dragons way back for my castle orcs to ride. You’re making me think I should get the creator ship and use my extra sails from Barracuda Bay to replace the brick built ones.

Because it has combos and tutors that is sometimes frowned upon. Our play group plays whatever we want we just don’t bring true CEDH builds to the table.
