Julie and I arrived on 15 May 2024 to start setting up our boat for sailing. We left the boat at Leros Marina in Lakki, Leros Island, in the eastern Aegean Sea back in October 2023. This narrow and somewhat forbidding inlet lies on the southern side of Kekova, Turkey. This village was abandoned after an earthquake after salt water got into their water supply. Nevertheless, it was a great anchorage for SY Daydreamer and SY Splash. Many thanks to Ken Williams for the drone footage.

I too sailed to Deal Island in April 2016, over Easter with two other guys on a Nauticat 38 Pilot House cutter rigged ketch. It was part of a cruise organised by the CYCT, out of Hobart. The 2 week trip up the east coast of Tassie, to Flinders, Deal, and Clark Island was an amazing experience. Thanks for the memories of Deal, it is such an amazing place.
