Definitely earlier than 1975. These gliders were first generation SC200's, I guessing 73, early 74. Great footage. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah could have been earlier. I had the camera between 1972 and 1975, and the label on this reel of film had fallen off, so I took a bit of a guess.
Oz... If that was a PU rubber soccer ball, I would pay a small fortune to get my hands on it today. I collect these type of rubber soccer balls, and many of them had latex bladders in them. Here's what I'm looking for Soft, Polyurethane rubber soccer balls Game used between 1967 and 1984 (used longer than 1984 is fine) Flat is OK. It does not need to retain air. Damaged and/or very worn from many years of game play. Size 5 All I ask, they do not have dry rot. The more worn it is, and the older it is, the more it's worth to me.
Time flies...
It does mate.
Hi Mate, Lovely to see these old movies. I enjoyed it especially because of the old planes like the DC-9, DC-10,s, Boeing 727's etc. A bit of Australian Aviation History ;-)
Yup lucky I went along with her to film it.
I remember. I could have been around there wearing a "Golden Breed" pullover, I used to surf at Stanwell Park.
Looks Like the monty python confuse a cat sketch.
Gosh I was hoping to see my old man or mother getting off the trains....Great to see this. Brings back memories! Cheers for that
You're welcome :-)
Love it, such memories with Chris, we always remained close. I carried on for another 12 years with Sue. I still love the sport!!!
Where's the bleedin sound!?
Hey look, it's da boss !!!. How ya doin boss, and why are you here lol ? Anyway, the reason there's no sound is this. I bought my Super 8 Cine camera in 1972. Back then, there were no Super 8 camera's with a microphone, because there was no such thing as Super 8 film that had a magnetic audio strip attached to it, so, no sound. In 1973, Kodak produced the first Super 8 Cine camera with a microphone, along with the first ever rolls of Super 8 cine film with a magnetic audio strip. The film rolls with the audio strip could still be used in my camera, and I did in fact buy one. I filmed a karate session in our local band hall, and after it was done and the film had been processed, I knew a guy with the right recording equipment, so the karate instructor and I went to the guys place, and as the film was running, the instructor narrated onto the audio strip. Somewhere down the line, somebody put some Winifred Atwell piano on it. I'm looking to isolate that and keep the narration. A single Super 8 cartridge of film for the camera only recorded for 3 minutes and 20 seconds, so you ran out, FAST, and you had to plan the shots as editing was a pain in the arse with cement edits and plastic edit strip. Editing machines caused a lot of damage to films. Also, Super 8 films only recorded in 18 FPS, hence the graininess. Camera phones today can record in 60 FPS and up. Super 8 film was a bugger to work with as it was touchy when it came to sunlight and angles of shooting. It reacted differently all the time so you had to compensate. It didn't like low light or the dark, even with a high wattage output filming lamp. It was finickity stuff to work with, but that's what we had back in the day. I'm probably going to add some sound effects soon to these films, Australian bush sounds, indistinct voices chattering etc, road traffic noise, that sort of thing. The gal in the thumbnail, and at the start of the film, was my girlfriend. We were married the following year, and she's the reason I moved to England, with her lol. The other guys are very well know Australian musicians from famous bands, and the guy who falls off the cliff at the end, Alan Oloman, was a great mate of mine. We worked together musically. The taller thin gal was his wife Jenny. They're both no longer with us, both passed away. They had a baby son and daughter who never even knew this footage existed. I also hadn't seen these movies for 50 years. I sent this one to them a couple of days ago. You can imagine the surprise after more than half a century. So there it is boss.
@@bozyip another tale from the incredible Boz. Love it every time: )
@@VeneficusOfficial Ordinary Boz who was fortunate enough to be surrounded by some incredible people. Those really were the days to be young and getting out and about. Great times, amazing people.

Lol, that's the 70's for you.
Many covers of this Gene Pitney song , most are over done , but this one is in the raw as unpretentious as it should be played .

The drummer who came to that rehearsal, and then joined the band ,Frank Scully is in the other vids. Awesome drummer, and I've just posted a few vids of him with us because I've just found out that Frank passed away, so wanted the world to see how good he was. Let me know if the Oz Boz link takes you to the other vids. Hope you're all keeping well back home :-)
