Books, Movies and Don't forget to support your library! -Season Four Recap
Sarah, Meredith, and Lindsay get together to recap Season Four. Why so few members? Many interruptions happened all at once. The women discuss this season and what books, movies or both they liked or disliked. Meredith can’t stop plugging the importance of using your local library. We discuss the new segment 'Author’s Spotlight'. Season Four where we attempted to watch movies and books has come and gone. The author's Husband was on Jeopardy! last week, he lasted for two or three episodes. I thought the tv series they made from the book was really well done.
Thanks for having us, Sarah! It was a lot of fun!
You are so welcome! It was a fun interview. Thanks for coming on.
Hello
Hello, thank you for supporting our podcast.
Oh well come
One request for you

Thanks for having me on! This was great!

1:35 what happened to her book shelf?
Are you speaking of Lindsay's book shelf in the background? It was built slanted on purpose, but also Meredith built her new book shelves and did the wood working herself (which she has mentioned on the podcast). She did complete that project if you're wondering. I can't see that either one of them mentioned it at 1:35, so I hope this answers your question. Thanks for connecting!
0:47 this guy at the top is smiling so big 😁
He's name is Squiggy and he is the Fan member that chose White Fragility by Robin DiAngelo for that book cycle and joined Book Interrupted in the discussion.
Over-educated, under-employed, NPR-lestening neurotic babe chat.
This was a really great video! You should use a service such as *promo sm*!
Thanks for the tip!
Opium used to be in everything, including children's cough drops. Cannabis is dominating the market now, but it has paved the way for legal psilocybin ( magic mushrooms ), and hopefully lsd won't be too far behind. I mean, they gave it to soldiers and children in the 60's, so in the 2020's, don't be surprised if it shows up like froot roll-ups in a lot of little lunch boxes.
These people must be so miserable. They can only find solace in the company of equally mentally ill and hate-filled socialist lemmings.

Thank you! I will share with the members on the Fan Feedback Episode.
what
How ironic that Sarah Diop speaks to non violent communication when her husband abused me and robbed me of $5,000 to pay for her baby needs in 2009. Her husband is an abusive person and they both should pay me back Mamadou Diop cheated me a single mother! Boith of them cons! you can contact me and I have proof of this abuse.
BTW Desmond Cole has revised his figure down to 10-12 including times he thought police cars might be following him but didn't pull him over. He's a liar.
Great content, keep up the good work! I recommend promosm to promote your videos.
Much appreciated!
There is nothing in this world worse than a middle-aged, white, liberal female.
My constructive criticism that your book review would be more insightful if you used more research and critical thinking skills in your discussion. What similarities does the book White Fragility have with Critical Race Theory? What are the differences? Robin Diangelo has gotten some flack for holding space in a black movement. Should we be giving more space to black authors on this subject instead of white authors? Can the opinions in this work be seen as an example of a kafka trap? Why or why not? How could generational and class differences apply to the opinions in this work?
Chelsea, thank you so much for your feedback. Its too bad that it wasn't on an earlier episode or I would have asked to include it in EP6, which is our Fan feedback episode for each book cycle. We have 6 episodes per book and we did drive into the some of the topics you mentioned in previous episodes, but it would have been beneficial to add your comment/topics to that episode. Unfortunately with this book we didn't get much public feedback from our listeners to include in the episode. If you do have a chance to listen to other episodes on White Fragility or any of the other books, you'll notice that we aren't experts on any of the topics or professional reviewers. We are "a book club for busy people to connect and one that celebrates life's interruptions". We don't take ourselves too seriously, we leave that to the experts. It's about connection especially with those that don't have the time to commit to an actual bookclub. Take a look at our website if you'd like to find out more about us (www.bookinterrupted.com) and please comment again on one of our upcoming books cycles. We'd love to add some of your insights to our next Fan episode. The books coming up are, Nonviolent Communication, Sapiens and From the Ashes.
@@bookinterrupted2433 Thank you for your thoughtful response! I will try and tune in for your next book. Please feel free to add my insights to ur next episode. I usually dont comment on youtube videos unless i actually have something to say! Robin Diangelo is coming out with a book at the end of June called Nice Racism, so I'd love to hear you guys cover that.
@@chelseascreename Thank you so much, we will include your comment on our next Fan episode. We discussed it and there isn't any reason why we can't discuss it during the Nonviolent Communication Fan episode. Also, this book was a fan pick and Squiggy joined us for that book cycle to discuss the book and appear on our show. We provide equipment (like a microphone and ring light) and the fan joins us to discuss their book pick. If you'd like to join us and read Nice Racism, we'd love to have you. The next fan book has been chosen (deadline was on June 15th), but there will be another one in the new year. Here is where you would submit your book www.bookinterrupted.com/fans. We'd love to have your voice added to the conversation.
Hey it's the lady who's going to single-handedly saved the entire black race by proving that all their problems are because of a white dude
Wtf is this :D this has to be satire.. right?
It's obvious that some people living with HSV are used to antiviral and other supplementary Orthodox medicine just to help suppress the HSV virus and not a cure. I have been with the virus since 2015 until I came across some bloggers that narrated stories online on how they was cured from HSV, HPV, HIV, Fibroid, Cancer, Arthritis, Hepatitis, Lupus, Ulcer, Stroke, Epilepsy, etc after using Dr List Herbal Cure who lived in Florida. This is a year and 2 weeks since I was cured from genital Herpes. All thanks to God for using Dr. Ajayi to cure me. I have promised to keep telling people about the good news of Dr. Ajayi. Please feel free to share your problems with him and don't forget to tell him I refer you to Him. Thanks. For inquiries: EMAIL: ajayiherbalhome@gmail.com or WhatsApp: +2348154724883.
I'm so excited. I finally got rid of my Herpes Simplex Virus 1&2 within just three weeks. Thank you 🙏🙏 Dr Alaho Olu on RUclips....
God bless Dr Alaho Olu on RUclips for curing me and my girlfriend from Herpes Simplex Virus. I’m very grateful to you sir...
Great video! Some really interesting information! Amazing to see other inspiring women on here sharing their knowledge and experiences, its very appreciated! Completely agree that we need to talk about these things more! Hope you would enjoy my content too, I've just started a series on my channel about my crazy menopause experience, I started my period again at 50!! Would love to know what you think of it.
Thank you for the support and comment. We really appreciate it. We have the author on and that episode is great! We will also have her on again this upcoming season. I will let the other members know about your channel as well.
If it wasn't for the Waking Life style filter on the video, we could actually see what you're talking about, ha.
Frank, actually it's unlike fog in the sense you can see you're in it. It just looks like there isn't anything in the background at all. Normally you can see the ocean from this view. It doesn't change it much without the filter, but I will post the video without filter on our Facebook -Book Interrupted Book club private group page so you can see it. Like I mentioned before the interruptions all will have this filter because the members are in our regular unscheduled lives when filming these, so we don't want something in the background that could affect the privacy of others shown publicly on the internet.
Hope you feel better soon Mer. Just finished reading “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian” by Sherman Alexie. It was alright; a pretty fun, quick read. The main character also had Hydrcephalus, so I could relate to some of the troubles he went through. But it was mostly about basketball and death, and a kid on the reservation trying to rise above his lot in life. I hear the author did a few shady things when it comes to relations with the ladies though.
Thanks Frank. Fully recovered, only took a few weeks. Lucky, really. It’s the worst when laziness results in an injury. Haha. The hydrocephalus detail is interesting. It’s not something that I hear about often, and yet having things like that or even epilepsy crop up as a detail in a book without it defining the character normalizes these things a bit. Though, I don’t think anyone would ever accuse you or me of being normal haha.
Also, Lindsay, you are a beautiful woman. Why are you disfiguring yourself with this 'Waking Life' style filter? Boo-urns.
Frank, we couldn't agree more! We use this cartoon filter for our interruptions, because often times these are happening in real time in our personal lives and this way it makes them a little more private.
I recently had a wisdom tooth yanked that had been bothering me to a ridiculous extent on and off for the past two decades. Feels so good to be free. I wanted them all yanked when I was 18, but me ma convinced me to 'just wait and see what happens'. Well, what happened was my insurance ran out and I suffered for years. Dear children: don't always listen to your mothers!
Thanks for your podcast and contests. Good luck to you too.
Thank you so much for listening! We really appreciate it. There is also another contest on our website for Libro.fm. Go to www.bookinterrupted.com/contest for details.
❤️
That is super cool!
Thank you, it was fun!
Thank you so much for the encouragement! I hope you enjoy the episodes too.
A bad introduction can kill the entire book. I find it's best to just skip the preamble and get to the stories. If they are interesting and well written enough, I'll sometimes go back and read the preface, just to see if it adds anything to the experience such as context and emphasis to certain aspects of the writer's execution of the work. Sometimes the introductions contain spoilers, and the reader is not always warned...that right there? That ticks me off. Just finished 'Dancing Girls', a collection of short stories by Margaret Atwood. I'd recommend it, if you like to be disturbed.
I think that strategy would have benefitted some of our members Frank! Also, thanks for the recommendation, many of us love Margaret Atwood and Lindsay has her Handmaids Tale as one of her top 5 books.
Like how real this is and all the points of views, keep up the good work and look forward to new book to hear about.
Thank you so much Brandon!
There are a LOT of bad books out there. I was thinking of starting a youtube channel for some of the worst offenders 'Bad Book Burning Club', but that would mean I'd actually have to finish reading them, choose the worst bits, and read that over the video footage of the books on fire. I still might do it. Currently reading a collection of Margaret Atwood's short stories, in between all the other books I have on the go. If the book sucks, put it down and move on!
Thank you Frank for watching! We feel the same, if the book isn't speaking to you then stop reading it. There is no obligation for the members of Book Interrupted to finish the book.
