Tryfan 18th June 2019
I'd nothing better to do during lockdown and thought I'd look back at 2019 and in particular my day on Tryfan. Well, imagine my surprise when I couldn't find it. A quick check back and...yes I had gone up Tryfan but no I hadn't posted the video (senility kicking in already).
Anyway, I had a quick look at it, tinkered with it and here it is (and who knows, maybe, just maybe June 2020?)

National Trust Houses: A tour of 29 in 15 minutes
Просмотров 14 тыс.4 года назад
Normally over the Easter weekend, we visit our first National Trust property of the year. However, this year we're in lockdown and won't be able to go out even if they were open (which they're not). So instead, I've been looking at photos from previous visits and, having nothing better to do, I decided to create a slideshow of photos. One thing led to another and I've decided to upload my tour ...

How to cook a Christmas dinner in under 8 minutes
Просмотров 314 года назад
How I cooked our Christmas dinner in 2019. The turkey was, excellent - although I say it myself (thank you Marks and Spencer). The sprouts were...cooked (I don't like them so I can't really comment). The roasties were roasted (as were the parsnips - but who wants parsnips?) The rest of the ingredients were of course great. I like to think of this as a Public Information Film and if you want any...

A walk along the High Stile ridge comprising the peaks of Red Pike, High Stile and High Crag on a clear sunny day provides wonderful views of not only Buttermere and Crummock Water but also the surrounding fells of Grassmoor, Robinson and Fleetwith Pike and the further afield peaks of Great Gable, Scafell Pike and even (weather permitting) Blencathra.
A lakeland adventure. Day 1: Loughrigg Fell
Просмотров 365 лет назад
The forecast for the week ahead was for settled warm and sunny weather and so I decided to go to the Lake District for a short break camping in Buttermere. On day 1 I arrived in the Lake District mid-morning with a view to walking up Loughrigg Fell before travelling on to Buttermere. Days 2 and 3 will be posted shortly (when I can get around to finishing them).

There are 100 + year old Japanese farm houses treated with creosote and the timbers are still rock solid Despite years of heavy snow and rain. I know because I live in one. Every farmhouse for kilometers around is the same colour, black timbers, white plaster, and timber ends painted white.

I was worried when you kicked the shed. Thought you were gonna knock it right over there! What did you use on there? It did look great. I’ve used old engine oil for this kinda stuff before.

i always thought creosote was like powder out of a chimney or occasionally resin or flake....highly flammable... how come his is paintable.? what purpose does it serve.

I had thought about hairdressing from home for beginners but the idea was squashed by a higher authority. Unfortunately this means that by the end of lockdown I'm going to resemble a caveman.
